I'd like to see this

Y'know....in person.

.
Swords-In-Stone

maybe someday.

Damned checks and balances, anyway.

Obama says Supremes shouldn't have taken the health care law case.

And no, Barry, you ain't a king. So we have these checks and balances to prevent people like you from trying to be.....

Well, that is what happens when you rush a law into place while you have the House, Senate, and President all being Democrats....(or at least a majority).

Gotta rush to pass it, so we can find out what's in it, right?

We shall see.

BarryCare is falling apart on it's own anyway.

Why Orangelo can't read....

Or whatever the current favorite black boy child name is...

Anyway.

Read this.

Part of the issue, really...But only part.

Still, the excuses made are NOT helping the black kids.

And they, really, are the losers here.

Sad.

A bleg:

A while back, before my HD crash, I had bookmarked a website by a woman holstermaker in, IIRC, either Georgia or Alabama.

She had beautiful photos of her work, and I intended to contact her for some custom work for a 1911 holster. But my HD crashed, taking my bookmarks to wherever data goes when a Hard drive becomes unreadable.

Sadly, that is all I remember. My backups only consisted of documents and photos that were not easily reproduced, rather than full backups of all programs, bookmarks, etc.

The pool of possible suspects cannot be that large, yet, sadly, I cannot find her website again, despite much looking.

Anyone know a southern lady who is a holstermaker? I am not 100% certain that it was Georgia or Alabama, but I think so. I am sure it was in the south.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

Gonna have to mow my neighbors yard.....

And maybe the neighbor downstream of him, and maybe the one after that too...

Because all of my goddamned grass seed got washed from my yard into his Sunday afternoon..

4.23 inches of rain in less than an hour.

The first 0.75" in 4 hours was perfect,

The it let loose.

200 LBS of grass seed. Had just started to sprout that day.

Gone.

I can't win with this yard.

The good news is that the drain pipes that were sorta partially silted up are clean.

Hope the damned silt helps the friggin' grass grow.....wherever it ended up.

At least here it stopped raining. Not like Texas.

Not so sure that it is really all that bad...

But this is good advice.

I'll be making the appropriate noises to the appropriate congresscritters.

Might I suggest that you do the same?

While I feel that it would be  a struggle to implement, and a great court battle as far as free speech and all that, 'tis better not to have to fight that fight, so let's try not to.

Please, do your part.

(There was once a time when I believe that people who always thought the worst possible interpretation of new laws would happen were tinfoil hat wearing fools.......Now I have my own aluminum beanie.)

ETA: The NRA seems to think this is a really bad thing coming.

AAA on the Southern border?

Seems that someone on the southern border is not liking the interference the CBP and their helicopters are causing in the smuggling of people and/or drugs into the US...

So they shot the helicopter down.

Luckily, no one was injured, and the copter landed safely.

But still.

I wonder what Barry and his sycophants will do? Perhaps bow the the President of Mexico?

I think we should arm the CBP helicopters so they can shoot back...

Dark of moon, 6th of june

And high tide too.

And the stormy weather passed....

The fun began today at Normandy on this date, 71 years ago.

Not many of those folks left today...

Imagine being in a Higgins boat, or one of the other invasion craft..waiting.

If you had been one of the Glider crews or the parachutists, you day had already begun...

Think of those men today. The ones that came calling on the Germans on France...and changed the war.

Think of those Germans, who just wanted to go home.

Seemed obvious

So I am in line at the deli counter ...they are a bit backed up....

The deli dude takes my order, and begins slicing meat for me.

Next deli dude comes up and asks "who's next"?

Behind me is a chick, about 22 years old, 5'6 maybe a 125 lbs, blonde....she is wearing either a short tee shirt or a long crop top, (white) and her...say 34 C ...bra (pink) is peeking out from under. She is fairly toned and fit. Wearing short short shorts (tattered and faded denim) with her panties (pink) are peeking out the top of the shorts and the worn parts on her backside. She is wearing 6" platform heels (Pink) with sparkly straps. Legs  are toned as well as her midriff. Holding a pink sparkly phone with a black leather purse with sparkly clasp...

The deli dude asks again. "Who's next"?

I pointed "That would be Tiffani here"

"How did you know my name was Tiffani?" She smiled at me...

"It was either that, or Diamond" I replied.

Dude behind her broke up.

"I don't get the joke" she said with a frown.

"Coulda been Jasmine" he said. I shook my head..."Tiffani with an I and heart over the I" I said.

She still didn't get it.

He explained.... I was right.

She was pissed. Didn't find it funny.,..At. All.

Nothing like dressing the part.

This is exactly how the State should be involved

When it comes to marriage.

Simply a contract rand recording the fact that two (or more?) people are married ...

Like this.

Nothing else.

Whoda thunk that ALABAMA of all places would be so "progressive" ?

I mean...Alabama.....Bible belt and all that. But really, the bill is pretty close to what I think should be the State's entire involvement....just a recording of the fact that the parties are engaged in a marriage- like relationship. No other involvement. inheritance and next of kin and all that Just the legalities as to

But She's the expert. (It ain't my first Rodeo, sweetheart)

So I go (again) to give a directed donation of a pint of blood for a young man my niece goes to school with who is a cancer patient.

Gotta drive to the Hospital where he is being treated , which is 50 miles away.

No big deal.

I get there, along with my brother and dad (giving blood has always been a family thing....we have competitions as to who can give the fastest (slowest buys lunch) and such folderol, but hey, it makes the donation fun....)

Anyway, we get there, fill out the requisite forms, give them to the phlebotomists, they do the requisite finger stick and then it is time.

Now, the phlebotomist I had today was a know it all. SHE was the expert...I suggested one vein in my arm, but she knew better. Ok, hey, just stick me.

Now, I've given just under 10 gallons at blood drives over the years..... I generally know by now what works and what doesn't....I mean, really I know which veins flow well (and which ones don't) and how my blood reacts when entering the needles and such.

As I said to the lady who reviewed my paperwork..."This ain't my first Rodeo"

But I know nothing when it comes to giving blood. Not a bit. I'm not a trained phlebotomist.

Nope. really, since I am untrained, I know nothing.

Ask the woman who attempted to draw the pint of blood. She is the expert.

So, she sticks me and the flow is poor. Moves the needle, and no improvement. no surprise there, the vein, while easily visible, is only slightly larger than the needle.

Goes to the OTHER ARM, where, since I had just given a blood sample the previous week there, couldn't use the big vein in the crook of my elbow (why she wouldn't use that BIG vein in my left arm to begin with I don't know). so she chose the same small vein higher up on the right arm. Which, if you cut it in half with a dull knife, wouldn't bleed much or for long little tiny vein . .... But she knows best.....

Was flowing freely for about 3 minutes and was about half done...bag half full. say 250 ml's maybe a bit more (full bag is a half liter) She decides to re-position the needle. I suggested that there was no hurry as I would have to wait for my dad and brother anyway and that moving the needle might well make the flow be reduced, not increased, as THAT vein was pretty small and the current flow was about max....besides, I clot fairly easily and quickly, and if she stopped the flow my blood would clot almost instantly in the needle. I know this, since it has happened before. (It ain't my first Rodeo) You can stab me with a fork and I stop bleeding almost as soon as you withdraw the eating utensil from my skin. I clot like Wolverine.

She's the "expert"...a "trained phelbotomist". Knows better. so she moved the needle, flow stopped and my blood clogged the tubes.

Half a bag full. No more. Full.Stop.... We.Are.Done.

Can't try again. Period. Policy, you know....

Policy is that all that blood, 250+ cc's of blood gets thrown out. . And 2 hours of my time....wasted.

The kid doesn't get that sorely needed 500ml's of blood, and I can't try again for at least 60 days.

Jesus, I hate experts.

Especially "trained" experts.

Might as well light a candle

Because it would be as effective, really.

National Gun Violence Day

I mean, really, all the marches, all the rallies, all the Vigils, etc won't make a single bit of difference.

It isn't the guns that are killing people.

It is other people killing people.

In Chicago, where this originated, it was, specifically, black people killing other black people.

Vigils won't change that. Orange shirts won't change that.

Unless and until people start calling the police and testifying and working with police to change the neighborhoods, it ain't gonna change.

Name names, not "Sumdood"...."I dint see nuffin"

Orange Shirts on one day are a waste of time.

But, like other Liberal Symbols, it make some people feel good....even if it is pointless.

It won't mean diddly to the people who are the problem....Won't affect them, won't change them, and all those shirts won't save a single life....The people that are the problem aren't listening.

Coming soon to Doctors in the US....

And unless we get rid of Nationalized Health Care, and go back to Private Insurance,  it'll get worse and the system goes broke because so many aren't paying at all....

Last year the Royal College of Surgeons warned that elderly people are being denied life-saving operations because of age discrimination within the NHS.

Britain's model of Free Health Care is a shining example of why Socialism Doesn't Work..... Canada's is about 15 years behind them, and how long will it take us to catch up?

Sunday, May 31, 2015

Not that they'd use it for a De-facto Gun Registry.....

Or anything like that....

And of course, criminals and the like would assuredly line up and buy the insurance like good law abiding citizens.

And no, I am sure that the insurance companies would never get together in a smoke filled room and set the pricing to ensure maximum profits or anything like that.

The anti gun people never stop trying, do they?

On May 29, Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY)  introduced legislation requiring all would-be gun owners to purchase liability insurance before being allowed to purchase a firearm.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. We gotta make sure that this goes nowhere.

I'm unsympathetic

While the Texas floods are a terrible thing, and I feel sorry for these people whose home are flooded, and whose lives are disrupted by the unusual level of rain....I am NOT terribly sympathetic for those people who need to be rescued because their cars wouldn't drive through 2 foot or more of water.

The media keeps referring to the flooded overpasses or other low areas as "flash floods" but they aren't flash floods. I've seen (and barely escaped from) real Flash floods, which are like walls of water....generally where a streambed gets a lot of water quickly, Literally, the area goes from just wet to feet underwater in a matter of moments. Flooded streets and underpasses aren't flash floods.

It isn't a Flash Flood when the water is, essentially, still and you drive your mini-SUV (with about 10" of real ground clearance)  where the air intake is MAYBE 16" off the ground.....into 2 foot of water at 20 MPH..and it isn't a surprise when you "crossover" stops because the air intake is underwater or the ignition is drowned because the water is too high.....I saw a PRIUS drive into water that was at least 18" deep (I own a Prius, and while they are nice cars, they aren't meant for off road nor for more than a few inches of water.....like less than 4 inches at most) and, of course, the car stalled and the person needed to be rescued from the "flash flood".  I watched on live video while a COP drove his Equinox/Traverse into water that was over the hood (still water, not running water) and lo and behold, it did the same thing....died. He had to be rescued from the air.

They oughta leave those idiots in the water for a few hours so they'd learn a lesson.

Hint: Never drive into running water. I have made that mistake crossing a bridge over a flood stage stream in a DIESEL pickup (6800 lbs,16" ground clearance) and have had water (2 foot deep) move me...Imagine what it will do to a 3500 lb car with 8" of ground clearance? And I had an air intake 38" above the ground level and no ignition to short out....

Never drive into water you can't see the bottom of. Ever.

Never drive into water  in a car or normal truck that is more than halfway up your tires. Halfway. no more....

Now, if you have a vehicle designed or modified to ford deeper water, then yes, you can go into water that is still or only slowly moving. If you have a diesel with an air intake that is above the water, and the water is still, then you can successfully enter (and leave)  still water that is below the air intake.

But if you have a simple car (or truck) ....(and yes, and SUV is a truck, at best....and a "crossover" is a car, really) then be aware of the limitations.

Don't be one of those jerks that needs rescuing because you were stupid.

Murph:

You should start a GoFundMe thing so you can buy this....

HERE....and HERE

Thank me later....

(Ida emailed it to you, but can't find one for you...)

Past the House!

There is hope that you can own a 1911 from the CMP.

Of course, Barry will fight this tooth and nail, but still...

If you aren't a member of a club that is CMP affiliated, then you still have time.

Call your congressmen (and women) tell 'em you want to have the CMP distribute the 1911's that cost the Army money to store ...

Greek Default:

It be happenin'.

"Greece cannot make debt repayments to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) next month unless it achieves a deal with creditors . . .”.

Yep, they have used up all their credit. The Socialist dream has "run out of other people's money".

All those financial instruments are set to fold. 230 BILLION dollars are, essentially, uncollectable.... Trillions of dollars of derivatives are triggered. Some say Doom is upon the financial markets. Perhaps. Perhaps only some folks who gambled wrong will face losing their fortunes. It isn't gonna be pretty.

This is, of course the beginning of the end for the European Union.

How long until the US is in the same boat?  England? Japan?

One expects this from a country like Greece or Argentina....but the US isn't that far from the same catastrophe.

So:

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen:

You know who I am speaking to. You stood up when it was needed and did what had to be done. You sacrificed yourselves for the country....Or maybe were just unlucky...but you were there...doing what had to be done......maybe for a wife, or girlfriend, husband or boyfriend. Parents, Kids.... I dunno.

It really doesn't matter why. You just did. Gave it all. Died in the service of your country.

So thank you.

I appreciate your sacrifice.

I remember. I hope others do.

If they have internet wherever you ended up...Heaven or not, you might be reading this. If not, I hope someone tells you.

Not everyone thinks this day is just the end of a long weekend.

Some of us remember.

So, to you who DIDN'T come home,,,,,Thank you.

an idea:

Overheard yesterday:

"It oughta  be a law that we make every kid under 30 wear red wool MITTENS when driving so they can't F%$#$#IN text or Facebook, or whatever. Then the little bastards could stay in their lane and goddam drive."

Saturday, May 23, 2015

Indeed.

I agree wholeheartedly.

If the Franchisor would allow it, I'd be closed on Monday.
So the Senate refused to extend the Domestic Surveillance program....

Not even for two weeks.

Wow.

Sanity break out in the strangest of places....

"Feared throughout the land....."

CNN reports that there is a bulletin warning of possible revenge attacks against Texas cops by the Bandidos and other motorcycle groups:

The bulletin warns of plots targeting high-ranking law enforcement officials and their          families with car bombs. The bulletin is based on unsubstantiated information from an        informant who claimed to have obtained it from Bandidos and Black Widows                       motorcycle gang members.

Perhaps the cops need to learn reality from fiction.

Seriously.

An overreaction to a biker brawl....Cops kill 9.......And now they can't even be bothered to find out that the "Black Widows"  MC doesn't exist outside of a  Clint Eastwood movie.  As a parody....

I'm wondering if the Waco cops were so afraid of the bikers that day because all they knew about bikers was what they saw in the movies.

Remember:

When you are enjoying your freedom on you 3 day weekend...

Grilling burgers and dogs and watching the races or attending parties with friends, or whatever you do on Memorial Day weekend.

Take a few moments and remember the reason for the holiday (not just so that Government workers can have a 3 day weekend, really): Remember those who Memorial Day is meant to honor.

Raise a glass to their spirits.

Say 'Thank You" ......it's all that they would ask.

Remember them, honor their memory, and their sacrifice.

Because of them, you have the freedom to celebrate.

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

It occurs to me....

(And please understand, I am waiting like the rest of you to find out what the official story is/will be/evolves into regarding the "shootout" at the Twin Peaks in Waco....First it was no cops doing the shooting, and as of this posting they are admitting that 4 of the deaths were from Police firearms as well as several of the injuries....)

Now, I wasn't there, and likely neither were you. I'm not willing to pass any judgement on what happened.....we don't know, and likely never really will know just how it went down.

But I do know this. All of the members of the Bandidos and the Cossacks (and likely the rest of the Clubs there) were white or appeared to be white ...maybe somewhat Hispanic.

None were black.

Had this been a group of black people, there would already be rioting and crimes and looting. Because "Black".

While I really doubt that the members of the motorcycle clubs deserved to be shot at and killed by the police in Waco, they weren't choir boys either......

Oddly,  I don't see any white folks rioting.... Nor looting. Nor sympathy riots or marches in other cities....

(Although I hear that the Bandidos other member clubs are gathering to demonstrate their displeasure to the Waco police, but that is personal).

Good.

Dude goes walking. While open carrying. With his dog and wife.

A Pants Shitting Hysterical person calls the police.

Cop arrives.

Overreacts.  Threatens, Handcuffs
Arrests  (for "Inducing a Panic" ....  (then  Detains) Mr. Open Carry.

Finally cites him for "failing to disclose personal information" and lets him go after a few hours.

Dude sues. Illegal arrest and detainment.

Courts agree to hear argument that the police, at least in this case, have no "Qualified Immunity".

In this case, they are likely right.

I do believe that a police officer should have a partial shield of immunity if he is doing his job in a reasonable manner and simply makes a mistake. But there has to be limits, which, up until very recently, there have not been.

Good to see the courts are willing to reexamine the concept of blanket "'Cause I'm a cop and I can get away with it" shield that some police officers use to hide behind for their bad or stupid (or often vindictive) behavior.

Cue Murph in 3...2...

Rumor has it

That Brian Williams will be giving us a live report of what he remembers from the Shooting at the Waco Twin Peaks last week......Apparently he was there and witnessed the entire thing.

Philim at 11.

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Apparently, some police departments do practice

Seems that the Bardstown Ky. police have used their firearms (GLOCK 23's) enough that the frames are cracking.  (and no, this isn't a slam on GLOCK pistols)

I honestly didn't think many police officers actually, you know, *fired* enough rounds for this to happen. I have no idea of the round count, but I bet it is a lot, for this to happen.....

I mean, it took 15 years, but still...

Did anyone notice

How all the "Biker Gang Members" pictured in the articles about the Waco shindig all appear to be wearing brand new patches on their colors?

I've never seen so many bikers wearing brand new, clean, colors...on vests that have no apparent wear.

I mean, I know a lot of bikers, and a lot that are 1%, and I have never seen anyone with colors that are brand new like that, unless they lost 'em in a fire or an accident. Never the whole gang.

Odd.

For those few

of my readers who don't read Borepatch every day (you should, he's over there, linked on my sidebar:)

<<<<<<

Or somehow missed his link to this article.

You Rilly Rilly need top read THIS. (beverage alert!)

I mean, the level of snark here is huge, and it is weapons grade and overwhelming.

I laughed. And I spilled my drink.... through my nose.

It's not like it is a surprise....

That the people of this country don't want the Police to be militarized.....

Obama announces restrictions on distribution of military-style equipment to police.

Not only is the idea of the police being equipped with military weapons scary to a lot of people, but in many cases they have no training on how to use that same equipment.

Plus, when they dress and act like jack booted thugs stormtroopers, they get treated like they are stormtroopers....

Really, how does an MRAP  aid in door to door searches (likely illegal anyway) for a bombing suspect, or for that mater any police activity? Why do the police need Grenade Launchers? Camouflage uniforms? While thre is some (very small) overlap in the tools that soldiers use and that which police use, it is very small. THe mission of policing is NOT that of soldiers occupying a country or region. The mission of a soldier is to break things that the enemy has until they surrender. The mission of the police is to keep the peace and protect the citizens from crime.

Different missions, different job. Different tools. Just because the DOD has a surplus doesn't mean that they should be given to the police....

I think the police departments that have armed themselves with MRAPs, M2 machine guns and Grenade Launchers have lost sight of their missions, are afraid of the populations they police, or are wannabe soldiers.

I think Barry got this one right.

Legal fees oughta be paid....

By the agents who initiated the theft forfeiture, their supervisors, and their supervisors, and anyone up the chain who had knowledge of the incident and allowed this theft to continue.

Man will get his $107K(+) taken by Feds against policy.

Every single IRS agent who was involved in this should get their pay docked and/or THEIR assets seized until all legal fees (and interest) is paid to Mr. McLellan.

Not the IRS as such, that (ultimately) is You and I. But rather, the agents who seized the money with no proof of wrongdoing.

Investigate? Yes, Absolutely.
But to seize the money before there was evidence of a crime being committed, that is on the agents and their superiors....They should pay the legal fees and any interest owed Mr. McLellan. Not the taxpayers.

Might make 'em a bit more careful next time they exercise their not inconsiderable power against the citizens that pay their salary.

And a very big "Fuck You" was given

Young man flies the POW/MIA flag and the American Flag on his pickup truck.

Principal at the school says "No way", orders him to take it down, and SENDS PEOPLE TO UNBOLT THE FLAGS THAT VERY SAME DAY.

The rest of his fellow students quietly come to school the next day flying American Flags from their vehicles.

Somehow, the Principal has a change of heart. What an ass.

Dude should be fired. Right there, right now: Pack your shit and leave. Your services are no longer needed, sir. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, friend. Are you still here? Why?

Not sure I could be that honest.....

So dude buys a chest of drawers in an estate sale.

For less than a hunnerd bucks.

Decides to load it into his truck.

Hears a strange rattling sound.

Investigates.

Finds a secret drawer with thousands of dollar of gold, silver, and jewels.

GIVES IT BACK TO THE SELLER....

Now, I am honest. I (generally) do the Right Thing, simply because I gotta look at myself every morning (it ain't pretty) when I shave, and I'd like to be able to look the dude in the mirror in the eye....

But I'm not so sure that I could do what Mr Knodell did.

Kudos to him.

Another legend passes

BB King, gone at 89.

What did Nepal do wrong?

First a 7.8 last week, now a 7.2.

Perhaps they need to ...I dunno, maybe make a proper sacrifice of goats or something?

Poor folks, can't catch a break.

Maybe he was just a thug

Tony Robinson was higher than a kite the day he got shot......By a white officer.

He was attacking people, got the cops called on him, and ended up attacking a police officer.

He was black. 19 years old.

Now he is dead.

The officer is facing no charges.

Expect more "black lives matter" riots. (even in Wisconsin)

Because black, that's why. Because white cop.

Damned straight

Yeah, I gotta agree. There's more there too...

IZZIT true?

The rumors surrounding the TPP.  Trans Pacific Partnership.

I mean, according to Breitbart, and the GOA and Townhall and others it is going to be the worst thing that could happen. Secret drafts of the treaty supposedly will restrict gun ownership, ammo manufacture, the size of your balls and how much food you can store....(OK, I made the last two up) I mean, it sounds like a conspiracy nuts wet dream with berries and whipped cream.....

I generally dislike having my tinfoil hat on too tightly, but this makes me wonder.....

So I was discussing the riots in Baltimore

With one of my regular customers today. Dude happens to be black. Great guy. Hates lowlifes of all colors 'cause they are lowlifes.

I pointed out that nothing shows the world how you support the dead career criminal (that Few of the rioters never met) (and BTW, I think the cops probably ARE guilty, but we shall see...) like looting stores in protest.

Dude looked me straight in the eye and said..."Those weren't looters, they were "undocumented shoppers".

We both laughed.

He doesn't ever want to live in a poor inner city neighborhood. He is Union trucker and Teamster, Works very hard and makes a decent bit of scratch because of it and he would rather spend his money to live in the suburbs where decent people live.

Yeoman Rand passes

Grace Lee Whitney , Yeoman Rand, from the original Star Trek, has passed.

"Nice Bank accoun youse has dere....Shame if sommat happened to it"

"You should think about INSURANCE."

So says the Australian Government...They will levy a 0.05% "insurance charge" against all bank accounts.    Gonna raise $500 Million $ per year. It'll be put is a "Financial Stability Fund" (much like the US FDIC....BUT here is the kicker: Until it is needed it will be used to "offset gross Debt".

Plain and simple, it is a tax upon every citizen's holding.

Watch the bank runs start. Watch already weak banks fail. Watch the "Johnny come latelies" who fail to withdraw their money early lose their savings.

Bet it'll happen here too. And especially in Europe.

That Mason Jar in my Backyard is lookin' more and more attractive every day. Or, I could invest in Precious metals (I prefer Copper, Brass, and Lead over Gold and Silver.....)

If the timing is correct, then this is terrorism....

(and it appear that it is) then why aren't we hearing more about these two men? Terrorism on American Soil isn't Really Big News? If a bunch of others knew about it, then it is also a conspiracy, which is a much bigger issue....

I mean, we don't know it they were American Citizens, Legal (or illegal) aliens, travelers here on a visa, or what?

All we know is that they apparently had firearms and explosives and planned to use them, but were somehow intercepted and killed by an "officer", who was himself wounded.

Link HERE...

ETA: A real story about this HERE...Sadly, it is UK newspaper, not a US one....

Another thing they got wrong with Bammycare

Seems that Emergency Room visits have INCREASED, rather than the promised decrease, as we were promised would happen. More costs that we working folks have to cover, for a problem that didn't used to exist, but now does....

But really, what have the Obamacare folks gotten right? I mean, really they got nearly everything wrong, all the consequences of Barrycare have been "surprises"....it's almost like they had a dream that they couldn't make into reality because people wouldn't do what the Liberal Dreamers wanted them to do.

Gotta be a bitch

When you cannot get spare parts for your artificial arm anymore.

Especially when the company is still in business, just not in the artificial arm business anymore.

"Sorry, Bud, yer screwed'"......that implant is obsolete.

I thought getting parts for old equipment was bad, but damn!.

unless you live

(and work and commute in) in a single race area, I'd plan on a long hot summer of unrest.

Might be a good idea to have some firepower in your car, even if you can't carry at work.

Maybe a bail-out bag just in case driving isn't a good idea....

Or a change (or two) of clothes and some food and water at work, just in case staying put is a better idea.

Best place to be if there is a riot?:  Somewhere else.

"Fair Share"

George Soros has always felt tht the "rich" should pay more (a fair share) taxes than those of us who earn less than him.

Except, he's been trying to duck those taxes since 2009.

Half of his income.

Hah!

Makin' friends

It is, of course, all about safety.

Right?

Not Revenue. Ever.

Cops in Hawaii write $18K in tickets for cell phone use while in a traffic jam.

" Honolulu Police Department Assistant Chief Clayton Kau said that the whole thing was just one giant misunderstanding.

“At the time, that they were doing that, they weren’t aware of the traffic problem. When they were notified, at that point, they ceased enforcement action,” Kau said."

Kickin' the can

On down the road.....

So the rush to judgement has 6 cops charged, after only a  few days of investigation.

Did the cops take Freddie Gray on a wild ride? A little "Road Therapy"? Probably. Is there proof? Not really..the Detectives doing the internal "Investigation" (oops!) waited too long to collect videotaped evidence, so much of it is taped over by now....

Are all 6 of the cops guilty? Maybe, maybe not. But the "Nickle Tour"...a little "Screen Test" or, as they call it around here, "Road Therapy" is a common  thing for people who the cops wish to impart a lesson to...Adjusts their attitude a bit, you see.....

But I think the charges were rushed to placate the crowd.....Arrests (temporarily) satisfy the crowd. [Look!!! We are doing something!!!]

The real big riot is gonna happen when there isn't enough evidence to convict. And that(unless the verdict is released during a hurricane or a blizzard) is gonna lead to even bigger and more intense riots.

Bet on it. The only thing the people who rioted will accept to placate them is a lynching.

thought for the week

Today, at work

I met a dude (a customer) I'm gonna call slinky....

He ain't good for much, but I thought if I could push him down the stairs  he'd amuse me for a while.....

King (M.L.) would be proud of these men:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=733248687839&set=a.515955175779.2019041.124800238&type=1

Not so much these

You had me until I read the first paragraph:

As the people of Baltimore take to the streets to fight back against decades of systemic racism and police brutality, crunchy granola grocery store Whole Foods is on the scene with some much needed rations. Only instead of giving them to the non-violent protestors, volunteer clean-up crews or kids who went hungry because school was canceled today, they’re giving them to the fucking cops.

Lessee here:

Non violent protestors: Yep, saw that happen while the cops stood by and let the protestors non-violently loot and burn....and non-violently threaten the people leaving the baseball game.

Volunteer clean up crews: That would be the people who finished cleaning the shelves in the looted stores?

"Kinds who went hungry because school was cancelled: Yep, that's the reason for school, to feed yer kids. Can't make 'em a sandwich at home or anything.....School feeds 'em breakfast and lunch. Gotcha.

There is so much wrong with this article and the attitudes of the people who wrote it that I don't think that there is ever hope for an understanding between me and them.

How about instead, you teach 'em not to break the law?

I understand that it is said black kids get it harder than us white folk when it comes to the law......maybe it is even true.

But to complain that “There is something wrong when a third of all black men face the prospect of prison during their lifetimes,” and that it MUST be RACISM, is bullshit.  All men face the prospect of prison. Some of us choose not to do things that will put us there....

Maybe a few white kids get a break that blacks don't. But here is a thing: Don't get caught stealing from a store, or  stealing a car, or carrying sale weight of drugs....or selling crack on a street corner. Try finding a real job. There are a LOT of  ' help wanted " signs, even in the inner cities. Thing is, you gotta be disciplined enough to actually show up when you are supposed to and behave properly when you are at work.... do what you are told and shut up while doing it. And that can be difficult if your society, culture, and family never taught you how to do those things. And if you can't learn to do those things, and behave a certain way, then you are, in effect, unemployable.... And it helps if your parents (if the school doesn't) will bother to teach you to read and write and add and subtract and such....If you lack the discipline or the basic knowledge, then you are unemployable.... Leaving you on that street corner selling dime bags of crack in order to eat.

And, if you do that long enough, then you are gonna get arrested and charged and DO TIME....which makes you have a much harder time finding a decent job.

You gotta feel sorry

For all the decent, hard working people of whatever race who live in Baltimore whose lives are being disrupted by the rioters.

And especially those who have the same color of skin as those who are shown rioting in the streets, looting, and pillaging and destroying.

Every decent hard working black man and woman is watching 50 years of progress disappear in a few hours. Their chances to be seen as good, decent people is burning before their very eyes....and they can't do anything to stop it.

THIS is what is lacking

THIS. If there was more of this, there'd be less crime, less turmoil, and less incidents that lead up the these riots.

This is just a sample of what I'd have gotten had I been seen at a riot when I was younger.

Then my Dad (I had a dad, so there is that) would have come home. Then life would have started to suck. And I knew that, so I didn't....

Kudos to the Mom

Another question:

Where is Barry while folks who look like the sons he doesn't have are tearing up communities and vandalizing businesses and properties?

Why is he silent?

I think he approves.

Question:

Can those people whose property was damaged/stolen/burned/looted/etc look to the city (or the police) for damages, seeing as how the Mayor chose to deliberately fail in the protection of said property?

I mean, they deliberately gave the rioters a bit of space to let them blow off steam. And since the police were ordered to stand fast, if property was damaged after that order was given, is not the Mayor (and therefore the City) liable?

If it were my property that was damaged, I'd be calling an attorney.

Going back to the 60's,,,

Y'know, every time the poor downtrodden black folks riot, I think they set the clock back just a bit farther in the whole equality thing.

Like this

So they want to be treated the same as white people....want to NOT be treated as criminals. Yet you gotta give black people space to riot a bit, now and then....let the "darkies" blow off a little steam...Even the black Mayor of Baltimore thinks that is the best way to handle them.....

Yet what does a crowd, a Mob, do?  Criminal acts. They loot, steal, and burn.

Oddly, white people (generally) don't do that, even with provocation. We generally don't riot, and don't use a riot protest as an excuse to steal and trash a place of business.....And no one thinks that white people, or asians, need "Space to Riot" on order to blow off steam..... Only black people. Odd , that.

And they want equality. To be treated the same as others, not as criminals. Not to be thought of as something different from whites. Yet they act like this.

And the black neighborhoods claim that it is Whitey keeping the good businesses (and the jobs that they bring with them) out of their neighborhoods.

Sure, that's the reason no one wants to do business in your parts of town...

Why would anyone open a business in a middle or lower class black neighborhood? Invest money and time to make a business....in a place where the likelihood of a riot is 10 times or more than in other neighborhoods....and the chances that your store will be looted or burned (or both) are high? Where a protest means burning and looting, and wholesale theft and destruction? Where locking your doors is not enough. Even if you overcome the high(er) crime part, in today's world your business success or failure depends on where the News Media shines a spotlight this week....Where the riot may or may not happen.

Yeah, that makes all the white people feel safe......And brings a lot of investment to the community.

Makes white folks want black neighbors too....yeah, everyone wants people that riot at the drop of a hat.....And burns and loots. Yeah, People want to live near people who behave like animals.

Nothing like living the stereotype, is there?

The thin veneer of civilization we all wear is thinner on some than on others.

Brigid's new book is out.

My dead tree copy is on it's way here to my home.

You need to order your own.

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

It seldom happens to me...

And I don't do drugs, and I seldom ever carry anything illegal in my car. . But still, I think this is a very good ruling.

Cops can't delay you for a search outside of that  time needed to cite you for a traffic stop:

But Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in her majority opinion that prolonging the traffic stop beyond the time needed to deal with the initial offense was improper, even if only for a few minutes.

Now, I am all for getting drugs off the streets. And I am all for getting scumbags put behind bars. But I am also all for cops having limits on what they can and can't do in searches.

This clarifies things. Better for all of us. Even more so because cops with K-9's often use an "alert" (which is subjective much of the time) as an excuse to search further, even when there isn't any real probable cause for a search.

What this does is make sure that a traffic stop can't become a fishing edition.

(and yes, I do know what I am talking about, as I let the local County, State and many municipal  K-9 officers train at my facility. They admit that they often claim that the dog "Alerted" when it really hasn't, just to justify a more thorough search....and yes, likely the majority of time they have suspicions that are valid....cops aren't stupid. They know. Doesn't change the fact that the searches are illegal, because no Probable Cause.)

On the other hand....

I hadn't been considering Scott Walker at all.

But this made me sit up and pay attention:

“When it comes to immigration, as a governor I don’t have any direct role in that—but having talked to border state governors and having talked to other people, seeing how screwed up immigration has become under this president, it was clear to me talking to them and listening on this issue, traveling to the border actually going there with the governor of Texas Gov. Abbott, seeing the problems there, yeah from my standpoint going forward we need to secure the border, we need to enforce the laws that we currently have with an e-verify system,”

Might be that I'll have to look a bit closer, if and when....

Wazzn't gonna vote for him anyway....

But Jesus, how can anyone be stupid enough to say something like this?

On Tuesday’s “Michael Medved Show,” Former Florida Governor and prospective presidential candidate Jeb Bush (R) said that President Obama’s “continuance of the protections of the homeland using the big metadata programs, the NSA being enhanced” has been the best part of his presidency.

I mean, I admit that the pickings for the "best part of Barry's presidency" are very very slim, but still.

Perhaps he meant it as a joke?

Are you thrilled

With the Patriot Act?

Like the fact that it authorizes bulk surveillance..the fact that the NSA can choose to track your calls, your texts, your emails...."Just Because".

Are you thrilled by the rest of the loss of freedoms and loss of privacy? With all the other freedoms and additional government powers implemented since 9-11 (in the name of Safety and Security)?

DO YOU REALIZE THAT THE SURVEILLANCE POWERS STILL DIDN'T GET USED TO STOP THE TSARNEVS (the brothers that blew up the bombs at the last Boston Marathon) but are still being used to spy on  you....All in the name of Security....

Realize that the Patriot Act is going to expire on June 1. UNLESS CONGRESS RENEWS IT. Call, write, email, fax. Tell 'em NO! Tell 'em to let it expire.

You can find your Senator and Congressman (if you don't know who they are (mine are on speed dial in my cell phone)) via the "contacting the Congress link on the left...just below the Amazon link (which you should use when buying from Amazon to earn me a commission at no cost to you, but that isn't important right now).

Remember, that is part of where the TSA came from too (although that is a different bit of legislation).

Just tell 'em to vote NO. We don't need it, and it hasn't caught a single Terrorist.

I generally pack out my trash

But then again, I'm not a liberal, big government solution, "it's somebody else's job" kinda guy.

But the irony, it burns.

National Mall trashed after Global Citizen 2015 "Earth Day" concert.

I mean, at lest they got close to the trash cans. Better than most liberals can do.

Bet if that had been an NRA rally, we'd have had the trash in bags.

Trust in our courts, they say.

Unless, of course, the courts (and especially the judges) are partisan hacks that do the bidding of a political party and/or the unions that helped get them appointed.

Not to mention the (apparently) bought and paid for district attorney who began the harassment.

Or the cops who, despite knowing that the raids were, at best harassment and very close to illegal, followed orders and executed the harassing raids anyway.  Because orders.

But we should, always (according to some people), "Let the System Work" even when it destroys the lives of people whose only crime is being on the wrong political party.

Trust  the Police. Yeah, that works so well too,

Yer supposed to be afraid of the cops in Banana Republics and the Communist USSR and North Korea....But not in the US. Right? Right?

Sure. I mean, Wisconsin is kinda almost a socialist area anyway, what with the Union influence and all....Especially Milwaukee....."

Don’t call your lawyer. Don’t talk to anyone about this. Don’t tell your friends."

READ THIS. If it doesn't make you angry (and just a little bit afraid) then you aren't paying attention. This happened in the heartland of the United States.

People should be charged and incarcerated for these actions. Judges and attorneys who enabled these actions should be hung (after a fair trial, of course)for perverting our system of Justice. Policemen who participated in these raids KNOWING that they were illegal should be stripped of their powers (and pensions).

And remember, the Police were "Just Following Orders" when they raided the homes of the people in this article.

Realize that it has taken FIVE YEARS for these actions to come to light.

Think about it. What if it were you...?  Or your friends....Or your parents. People who worked peacefully and legally to make changes in their state who were terrorized because of their actions....

A further Patriots Day thought:

Our ancestors, for those of us who may have had ancestors who were original colonists, or our FIGURATIVE ancestors for those of us who are patriots.....Anyway....

Our ancestors fomented revolution (and actually fought a revolution!) for fewer injustices then, than we are experiencing now.....

We follow the directives....

Not the law.

Got that? ICE follows the directives of Barry Obama, not the laws that are passed by Congress. Not the laws of the land, but the decrees by Barry.

She should be fired immediately.

Well, scratch Marco off the list

Rubio wants too much "Immigration Reform" and doesn't seem to understand what the issues are.

So that makes my job easier come 2016.... One more person off the list....

“Well, at some point it is going to have to end, that is to say, it can’t continue being the permanent policy of the United States,” Rubio said. “I believe, if I become President, it is going to be possible to achieve immigration reform. It is not going to be comprehensive, that is to say, it is not going to all be in one massive bill. We already tried that a few years ago. We’ve seen there isn’t political support for it and I think we’ve wasted a lot of time in this process, when we could have made progress through the steps I’ve advocated.

AND

Rubio answered that DACA will end only when a legislative substitute with the exact same or similar policy prescriptions—a legislative amnesty for illegal alien minors—is implemented. He also said in Spanish that, if elected president, he believes that America cannot deport illegal aliens here in the country right now, and he expects a legislative solution will be implemented that essentially has all the parts of the massively controversial “Gang of Eight” bill that he would pass piece-by-piece.

Question: Why do some people think that everyone in the world has the right to come into the United States and assume the benefits of citizenship?...especially those who have come over the border illegally?

I'd really like an answer to that question.

Oh, and before I get hate speech tossed my way? I am the son and grandson of immigrants.

Happy Birthday

Today, really, was the birthday of what we have as a nation today.

Today, 240 years ago, our ancestors and forebears began the war which led to the birth of our nation. This was the day, 240 years ago, when they fought  the British,.....and, essentially, opened the ball in the Revolutionary war.

Raise a glass, take some time, and think about those brave men who took to arms to keep their way of life, and who eventually told the King of England to piss off.

"Stand yer ground, Don't fire unless fired upon.
But if they mean to have a war, then let it begin here"

More BLM fun and games

You'da thought they'd have learned their lesson after the Bundy Ranch standoff.

But NO. The BLM is fixin' to have another standoff, this time with miners

Will no one reign in this out of control Bureaucracy?  Or will the citizens do it the hard way? Or, will the BLM continue to hire "operators" and put them in BLM uniforms to try to control things with threats of violence?

Sunday, April 12, 2015

Glad someone else noticed:

Someone who has enough clout to get this Police Officer, Clarence Habersham, who lied and helped to cover up a murder tossed off the force. Yes, a Police officer who lied and tried to cover up a murder by a fellow officer.

Thing here is, if he lied about the incident between Mr. Scott (dead, not talking) and Officer Michael Slager (whose story was totally refuted by the video), what else has he lied about? ALL of his prior testimony is suspect. Each and every time he arrested someone, every time he testified in court, all of it is now suspect.

And apparently, there is another officer who lied...Sargent James Gann.

Police bleed blue and all that. When is a crime enough that they will break ranks?

Not all police are bad. I know several that I respect, and if they told me that the sky had turned yellow I'd believe them. But some are bad. Very bad. Liars thieves and cheats.  And they stain the good officer's uniforms as well.

You could easily fix that..... Just change your lifestyle:

The reality is I am a hypocrite. My life is completely infused with greenhouse gases and fossil           fuel pollution. No matter how I try to untether myself from the system--abstaining from air             travel in North America and buying carbon offset when I visit family in South Africa, changing       all the lightbulbs in our house and hang drying clothes in the attic, walking or biking instead of       driving--still I am responsible for over 13 tons of carbon pollution every year simply because I         live in the USA. According to the World Bank, the average American is responsible for 17.6 tons       of carbon pollution each year, while the world average per person is 5 tons. Why is this?

The answer is convenience. And simplicity. We like our lifestyle. We like the ease of heating our homes with Natural Gas. We like the fact that when we flip a switch that a light comes on. That we don't have to worry about spoiling food (because the Fridge keeps it cold)...that we don't have to pump our own water, because electricity keeps it flowing to our homes and faucets. That we don't have to wash our clothes by hand, because the electricity makes the washer and dryer work. We like not having to walk, or bicycle, or having to hitch up a horse to a cart...(and just keeping a horse is work)...

I know people who do live a truly "Low Carbon" lifestyle. But it is work, and they don't have all the modern conveniences.....and they never (or at lest very seldom) go anywhere. I heat my house (about 75% ) with wood and I gotta tell you, it is work. You gotta cut up the tree (so far, for 20 years, Mother Nature has damaged enough trees that I haven't had to cut down a perfectly good one, only ones that come down in storms) haul it, season it, split it, stack it, and then feed the woodstove. There is more than just turning up the thermostat. You also have to look forward and make sure that you have enough wood for the season, and further look to see that you have enough inside to feed the stove for the evening...... Same goes for those who burn vegetable oil in a diesel car, or who make their own ethanol (which, BTW, makes a LOT of CO2 in the fermentation process)

But Mr. Toscano isn't willing to have that kind of lifestyle. He still likes to travel, he likes all of his modern conveniences. He's not willing to find and cut and haul wood to heat his home and his water and his food. He's not willing to pump water by hand, and he likes those imported fruits and vegetables in February, when they aren't available when grown locally. He won't shut off his gas heat and won't stop driving (or riding) in fossil fuel driven automobiles. He hasn't unplugged his electric meter either.

In short, he IS the hypocrite he admits to being.

And since he can't wean himself off that "High Carbon" lifestyle, he wants the Federal Government to force him (and, of course, everyone else in the US) to change their lifestyle. To raise the price of carbon dioxide production in order that we will (supposedly) produce less.

Now, the question of Global Warming (and the effect of all that terrible nasty Carbon Dioxide) aside (yeah, I know, but that is argument for another day) he feels that if we only had to pay more, we'd produce less. Yet it hasn't worked with gasoline, and it hasn't worked with natural gas nor electricity. Those prices for those items have risen dramatically, yet we, as a nation, aren't using less per person.

He is right, in that if you want people to use less, then it should be more expensive. It does work for some things. But most people, like him, like that lifestyle that energy brings us. Not having to stoke a woodstove, or having to pump water, or haul wood....

Have you ever noticed that the Green folks always want a Statist solution....and that that solution is ALWAYS something that brings the productivity and level of lifestyle down for the US? That the solutions almost ALWAYS mirror the Socialist plan for the US? That the changes in lifestyle should always be done by Someone Else (but not them)?

So that officer?

You know, the one that killed the guy who was running away from him, who shot at him something like 8 times....and who killed the man?

The one who claims that the guy tried to steal his Tazer and use it against him.

Yeah, that cop.

The one who is shown on the video (apparently) dropping the same Tazer at the lifeless body of the man he just shot?

Yeah, that's not the guy I am gonna talk about here.

What I want to know is what about the other cops, the ones that corroborated the first (above) one's story? The ones that were there when he dropped the "evidence" at the body? The ones that filed a false police report. The ones that supported their fellow officer even when he committed murder...Are they still police officers?

If so, why? Why aren't they in jail, charged with conspiracy after the fact? Conspiracy to conceal a murder? Conspiracy to hide the planting of evidence? Filing a false police report? Conspiracy in the filing of a false police report. (remember, there were TWO other officers...both of whom lied. 3 people, 3 SWORN POLICE OFFICERS lied in their reports. 3 sworn officers conspired to cover up a murder. Yet only one is charged.

hmmmm. How to answer?

Sometime a question needs a preface.

So..... one of the ladies on my staff has moved from semi-Urban to mostly rural area...

She has issues with large furry rodents in her stream in her backyard and needs help identifying them.

This morning: Her: "do you know what a beaver looks like?".

Me: Poleaxed look. Not sure how to answer. ("Danger!, Will Robinson,  Danger!!")

She: Realizes what she might have implied. "No, that's not what I meant".

Me: "Well, yes, I've seen a beaver or two in my time".

(Not saying: "some are tasty too"....or "some are hairy and some are bald...". ) But I wanted to SO badly...

Nope I didn't go there, I just found something else to do elsewhere...

Got alternate comms?

Yes, this is somewhat "tinfoil hat"  and all that...

But, apparently, there IS a plan for the Feds (and, apparently, the State and Local governments too) to stop cell phone service in the event of a "Critical Emergency" or other "good reason".

Now, I'm not sure who they could justify shutting the cell service off....it'd be the Kiss of Death for any politician who ordered it,  (and it'd throw the entire country into chaos) but the law is still on the books...

Have ya got at least short range comms? Something so you can communicate with some people?  What if the "critical Emergency" is that you, or others are resisting the government? Say, like they did in Athens TN. (look it up...maybe" McCain county war"), Yeah it was a long time ago, but there is nothing to keep a new set of lowlifes from doing the same thing as in 1946.

How will you communicate if the Feds or the State shut down the cell network? What if those folks in China should do it?

Can you keep your plan in place without cells? I can. I have the tools to do so. Not as well as with cells phones, but I will still be able to communicate.

Will you?

One of the few times I can agree with her:

Videotaping the cops keeps things honest.
North Charleston police officer was arrested on a murder charge and the FBI opened a civil rights investigation Tuesday after video surfaced of the lawman shooting eight times at a 50-year-old black man as he ran away.

I would dearly like to hear the entire story, especially the cops side. This looks very bad.

Not all cops are honest. Some lie about shooting incidents. Sometimes other cops lie to protect them.

ETA: (6:10 AM 4/8) TV news shows enhanced video that looks like the officer dropped a gun at the crime scene.
But we all know that never happens either.

Interesting:

Velly interesting.

Seems the NRA is shilling for establishment Republicans.

I dunno if the entire article is true. Have no way to verify. But if it is, then Wayne has some 'splainin to do.....

The Wheels of justice

So the other day, I pointed out the absurdity of a police office and the resultant arrest and charges in an incident in which a woman, (who WAS speeding) was arrested for failing to pull over on a VERY dark and lonely stretch of road at approximately 11 PM.  Instead of pulling over immediately, she turned her emergency flashers on and drove slowly about a mile to a well lit and public parking lot.

The absurdity was compounded by the officers supervisors ("The sheriff's office supports our officer's decision in this matter.") ...and then the Sheriff himself chose to back the officer as well.... One statement made was the she was "defiant" after the officer (with good reason, not knowing why she did what she did) was angry that she didn't stop , and when she did, got into her face.........But even after getting an explanation, he chose to be unreasonable and arrest her because she would not be cowed. As far as I know, it is legal to be "Defiant" as long as one does not resist arrest. But the Sheriff apparently feels differently, as he used that for the explanation as to why things went as far as they did...

So the woman, Delrea Good, was in limbo for a few weeks. Until of course, the Prosecutor chose to look at the facts of the case, at which time, since she wouldn't plead or cooperate, he chose to drop the charges (The Prosecutor in that county works in lockstep with the Sheriff, generally)...but in this case, "Upon review of the circumstances of the incident as well as information learned after the incident, it was determined that a dismissal of the charges was in the best interests of justice"  (in other words, the dashcam video didn't show her fighting or resisting the officer in any way....and she followed suggested procedure for anyone who doesn't feel safe when being pulled over by an officer in a dark area).

Thing is, while the wheels of Justice turned, and while this is the way that things should work, it NEVER should have gotten this far. While I do understand the Deputy being upset (not knowing what was happening), once the explanation was given, he should have ended it there. Instead, he escalated it. Which led to the Sheriff's office being forced to eat Crow: "After a review of the circumstances surrounding Ms. Good's arrest, the Porter County Sheriff's office supports Porter County Prosecutor Gensel's decision to drop the charges"

This is a good way for the Police and Sheriff to destroy the support of decent, honest citizens...

I still think that if there is a viable candidate come next election, I'm gonna support him, instead of  David Reynolds.

ETA (8:04 PM): SO this case has made NATIONAL NEWS.

Agenda:

THink about this.

It's more than just wanting to be left alone. It is "You must validate my lifestyle and approve of it!.

Or. We. Will. Hound you into submission!

Yeah, I gott agree with this

GO..... Read it. This is what I was talking about when I wrote THIS.

But (as usual) Ace says it better:

I don't want you or any of the other rules-following, orderliness-obsessed corporatists making decisions for me.

I choose liberty, and I choose my own conscience. And choosing that means, get this, that I must also choose liberty and the right to consciencefor others.

This is a time for clarity, and this is a time for choosing. This is a time to discover who it is who really supports Liberty and Freedom, and who it is who is really all about Control and Conformity.

For many years, many conservatives have really been more about the latter than the former. I have admitted, and I will continue to admit, I was among them. I have long had pronounced authoritarian and statist tendencies.

I fight against them now, like an alcoholic fights his lust for drink.

But too many conservatives continue championing Social Control and Conformity while mouthing the empty platitudes about how wonderful Freedom is.

Freedom to do exactly what is permitted on pages 36-42 of the Corporate Handbook, that is.
Anything else is A Disorder and thus Subversive.

Read the whole thing.

It occurs to me...If we could only

If we could only get the Media as interested in government overspending and deficits as they are in pushing forward the agenda of the LGBT folks, we might have a chance to get this countries economics back on track.

I think I'll try to find a way

To insult, denigrate or otherwise royally piss off the LBGT community.....

Maybe they will then start hammering me via the press, the Internet and other social media. I mean, I could use something like more than $800K donated to me by my fellow straight citizens to help me out (note: an average of a little under $30 per person....a lot of people donated!) because the press and the faggots and the dykes were having a screaming shit fit because I didn't validate their existence and say that their lifestyle is all good an OK and holy nd shit. (hint: I really don't give a fuck who you sleep with or how (or how many at a time), as long as they are adults.)

I mean, how can I piss 'em off so I can get the same press and garner the same type of sympathy.... I could use that kind of scratch to live the lifestyle to which I'd like to become accustomed.

Any suggestions?

Indeed. Jimmy is also likely a libertarian. He sure as hell ain't a Liberal.

Happy Easter:

Now, remember, unless yer a Pagan, it has nothing to do with Bunnies and eggs and Easter Baskets.

If yer a Christian, then remember the reason....

Either way, enjoy the day.

Hint:

Guns seldom just "Go Off".

Methinks he needs to learn to keep his Booger Hook off the BangSwitch.

But cops are the only ones with enough training to have firearms, right?

(This isn't an indictment of police officers, just making a point).

So I am finding it interesting

Watching those people who preach "tolerance" and "respect for other's beliefs" tearing themselves up trying to quash those who happen to believe differently from them.

The Gays who want "tolerance", but have none for those who find the gay lifestyle disgusting. (I really don't care, mind you, that's your business) but who would doeverything in their power to destroy those who won't validate their lifestyle.

And I am amused when those same gay groups (a very tiny, but VERY vocal minority)  try to destroy someone who disagreed with them are shocked and amazed when the rest of society rallies 'round those whom they would try to destroy.

I think that the Gay and the seriously Anti-gay folks are both truly a minority. I believe that the rest of us really don't give a shit. I also think that each time the "Outrage Brigades" (on every side) pick a target we should rally round and give 'em the good ole Razberry like in the above case.

But I, for one am disgusted by the tactics of those who would preach "tolerance" but will not practice it. Those who feel "tolerance" means "agree with me or die".

Repec Mah Autoriteh!

Damned if you do, damned if ya don't.

It's not like there have never been any incidences of people pretending to be cops....especially at night. And it isn't like there is an easy way to determine (especially at night) that the vehicle behind you is really a cop or just a car with flashing lights on top.

And it isn't like the suggested procedure if you aren't sure is to turn on your emergency flashers and proceed to a lighted (and public) area in order that you can more easily identify the person as a uniformed officer with a badge and proper Police Department issued photo ID. ......

Unless, of course, you are in northern Porter County Indiana. Then, yer screwed unless you immediately pull over and wait to see what happens next.

It is bad enough that this happened. Worse, that Porter County has officers that behave like this (Sadly, nearly every police force has them (and knows it), and fails to weed them out) but worse, the Sheriff and his staff are "supporting our officer's decision in this matter" .

This isn't some lowlife with a record, where there (might) be a question regarding the decision not to pull over. Rather, this is a nurse, with absolutely zero record of criminal behavior.  Yet the officer, Porter County Sheriff's Department Patrolman William Marshallescalated the incident into an arrest. Further, the police department and the County Prosecuting Attorney are pursuing this as a felony: resisting arrest.

The decisions made in this case bring into question the suitability of the officer to continue to exercise police powers. Further, the fact that his superiors, up to and including the Sheriff, support his actions bring into question the judgement of the entire department's administration.

And now, they won't back down. Nothing like doubling down on stupid.

This is Bad Policing. Period.

If they won't come to their senses soon, she'll end up with a felony charge which will later be overturned, but which will cause her difficulties finding employment as a nurse....which will end up in court....which will end in a multi-million dollar settlement that the County taxpayers will have to pay. All because some asshole didn't get his authoiteh ticket punched that night.

And I will remember this next election. Both the Sheriff AND the Prosecuting Attorney that pursues this.

So I can expect them to cancel the Brickyard 400?

I mean, NASCAR has issued a statement decrying the current Indiana law.

One would wonder...if they are serious, are they gonna cancel the upcoming Brickyard 400? Or is their statement just another feeble attempt to be relevant on the Political stage?

I doubt that they will cancel. Too much money involved, both or them and their sponsors. So they are hypocrites.

They should spend more time being concerned about racing, and less time trying to be Politically Correct.

Yeah, Been there.....

......Done that, got the t-shirt, wore it out, got the hat too...then wrote a song about it and all that shit......I learn slow sometimes.

I've had Truly Psychotic (tm) chicks (one three times). Yes, they rock your world, but in the end, we all go elsewhere ...The price is too high.

THIS should be required reading for everyone age 17 or older. I wish to God that I could go back and force my younger self to read it (or that I could sit down with him over a beer and a smoke and I could warn him about S and K and R and  L and T and J and L (again) and M and CC (and her sister!) and L(again again). Yes, it made for some wild times, but always left me broke, exhausted, drained and weary.Psychos all of them.

I'd like to think I am smarter today. Got a good (and nonpsychotic) woman. Am happier.

I agree. Stand for something. Or GTFO

2000 that we know of

Plus the adults (the bulk of the border traffic) , plus the drug smugglers (and who knows what (and who) else?)

2000 "Children" a month.

Yet we won't build a fence, and won't close the border. Won't put Border Control boys and girls to interdict the flow of humanity from Mexico.

But we do, of course, have thousands of Border Patrol Agents to staff all those internal checkpoints.
