Yoonyuns and Democrats taking care of working folks
Yeah, they are allowing the unions to reduce pensions because said unions haven't adequately funded the pension funds......Seems that they skimmed a bit too much over the years and now they want to cut pensions to those folks who worked hard and paid those union dues and paid into the pension funds so they could retire after 20+ years with a good living.....
Watching out for the working man and all that.....

Manhunt, huh?
So the LA police did a "Manhunt" early Monday morning because some officers thought they might have been shot at.
Now, on the one hand, I don't have any issues with this.
On the other hand, if the police could pull officers from other locations and find all that manpower to do the area wide search and manhunt, why can't they do it for everyone? I mean, it isn't like that was the first gunshot heard in the area that month or even that week.
Odd, innit how they can react so forcefully with all those cops when it might be a cop who is the target....But not when it is another citizen who is shot at.......And lets not even talk about how they responded when Chris Dorner scared them and threatened them
I'm just sayin'.

So....
the only thing I wanted that I didn't get for Christmas was a backhoe attachment for my Kubota tractor (the better to hide the evidence with....).
I sincerely hope you all had an excellent Christmas this year.

And a Merry Christmas to all
To each of my readers, May you have the most merry and satisfying Christmas this year.
Whatever your traditions, be it homebound, be it spent with friends, with family, whatever you do to recharge your spirit, I wish you good tidings and joy.
Again, to those forced by duty to be tasked away from friends and family: Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Please remember the reason for this season though.

A though goes out
To all of you having to work for us on either Christmas eve or Christmas day:
Police, Fire, etc.
Thank you.
And to all those Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, Sailors and Coast Guardsmen standing post or standing watch on these days:
Again, thank you for your service and sacrifice. Have a Merry Christmas.
To the rest of you: Say thanks to these folks as well. They stand between us and evil. Appreciate that.

24th:
On the 24th of December, the UN Arms Trade Treaty goes into effect.
Now, the Senate hasn't ratified it, so it means nothing. Unless Barry decides (and Congress chooses to let him (again)) to do and end run around Congress, it won't matter to us.
But just in case they have a plan, Here is your practice target:

Look what private oil well drilling has done to my neighborhood!
I mean, really. Who would have expected that I would have to deal with stuff like this?
It is a good thing Barry didn't want to let anyone drill back in 2008. I mean, just think....What might we have to deal with today?
"You can't drill your way to lower gas prices"

You really need to see this
A somewhat different view of the "Gentle Giant" they called Mike Brown....
He wasn't as nice as they'd like you to think.
(and BTW, notice just how big he really was...)

Just plain fuckin' STUPID
Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.
Locked in a car for over 12 hours.
LOCKED.
IN. A CAR.
Too stupid to unlock it using the buttons on the door. Too stupid to turn on the interior lights and try reading the manual.
There are days when I feel that living "Down Under" might be better than living in the US (except for the gun ban part), but then I read this and realize that the people there might well be even stupider than some living here in the US.

question:
Since some of the folks who (allegedly) lost children or loved ones in the Sandy Hook shootings are suing Bushmaster because they were the manufacturer of the rifle that Adam Lanza stole from his (murdered) mother and used to (allegedly) kill the (alleged) victims in the school.....
Why aren't they also suing the pharmaceutical companies which made the psychotropic drugs which had been fed to the aforementioned Adam Lanza for years, breaking his (admittedly tenuous) grip on reality and sanity?
It would seem to me that the drugs had as much or more direct and indirect cause as the (alleged) firearm...
Or the Auto manufacturer that The aforementioned Mr. Lanza used to drive to the school?
(and yes, I say (alleged) because there are way too many inconsistencies in the assorted stories and accounts, and because the timing was SO terribly convenient for the Anti-Gun folks and because it was just shortly after several other gun massacres that also fit the meme of the Anti Gun folks....
And especially because when the American Public failed to support such anti gun measures even after the (alleged) Sandy Hook "massacre" then, strangely, such gun tragedies suddenly.....stopped. )
Odd that.

Definition of "hero"
THIS is a HERO.
Big,stainless steel (cryogenically hardened, mind you) balls. I bet he clanked when he walked.
Sadly he is gone.
Some folks are mentioning that he was gay. I say, who cares. He stood up when the time was right and did what a man is supposed to do.
Would that if my time comes I could do as well.

or:
"Second verse, same as the first!".
Seems that late last night, the house passed a $1 Trillion spending bill. Not the stopgap measure we expected until the "new" House was seated in January, but the whole enchilada.
Tell me again how the RNC folks are different than the DNC folks?
Not much hope in the Senate

Went to the range for a match last night. First time in 6 months. 600 point match
Yeah. It is a perishable skill. Very
6 moths ago I shot in the 530 range.

Kinda bummed
So, while SiteMeter has burned their bridges with many bloggers, I am bummed that there is no direct replacement.
While StatCounter does keep track of the visits, it doesn't keep track of where those visits are referred from. I don't know where my hits come from. I cannot tell who searched for a particular subject of they used Google or Bing or Yahoo.
Having said that, I do like the rest of StatCounter.
I am bummed, however, that SiteMeter forced me to make this decision.

It was pointed out to me today
Than it is possible that Charles Manson may well have been right....if a bit early.
The question is, who wants it to happen? And why? 'Cause someone is pushing it. The news folks won't stop stirring it, the Black "Leaders" won't either. Someone is coordinating it.
The question is, who wants it to happen? And why? 'Cause someone is pushing it. The news folks won't stop stirring it, the Black "Leaders" won't either. Someone is coordinating it.
Indeed
I really don't care, and am really NOT bothered by the fact that the CIA and other intelligence agencies used "Enhanced Techniques" in other locations to interrogate people who would cause harm to me or my family or fellow citizens.
Really. I don't care. Not a whit. Not a tiny jot. In fact, if they asked me to help, I would.
Watch THIS. The whole five minutes. Listen. Hear the fear and desperation.... 3000 others also felt that. And they didn't deserve it either. They just wanted to go to work that day and go home that evening. These were people like you and me. Your fellow citizens.
How many other of your countrymen must die so we don't offend the sensibilities of the bleeding heart cowards who wish to run this country? Who don't like the idea of torture?
We didn't start the fight, but the only way to win is to be willing to be as ruthless as those who did.
If that means that we waterboard someone in order to get information from them (or worse) to prevent another attack, then I am OK with it.
One of the best ways to safeguard this country and it's citizens is to make sure that NO ONE EVER SCREWS WITH US FOR FEAR OF RETRIBUTION. EVER
Don't want none? Don't bring none. Period.
I never again want my countrymen to have to make the choices that these folks had to make, just because someone in another country hates our freedoms and our way of life.
Barry and his whiny ilk can get fucked. I'll shake the hand and buy the beer for those folks who did a dirty job and soiled their hands on America's enemies.

One wonders:
Just how stupid the folks who ran SiteMeter were to do it?
I mean, they weren't the best, and they were a free service, and I understand that they want to get paid somehow. But really.

If you own Target stock
NYSE (TGT)
Then I advise you to sell it most ricky-tick. Like as soon as the broker will take your call.
Seems that a judge has determined that banks can sue Target Corporation for losses incurred in the late 2013 credit card hack that let over 40 million card numbers (Plus personal info from over 70 million customers) be stolen from Target's computers.
Target Corp is negligent for the breach of data. Tens (or more) of MILLIONS of dollars lost to Credit Card thieves. Tens of millions of cards had to be replaced.
Target as a company will, (unless insurance covers it) be lucky to survive this.

This is the reason I want to sell my business and buy a decent farm somewhere away from most urban areas. Ideally more than 3/4 of a tank of gas away. Rais a bit of livestock and not be there "when the music stops".
The current level of spending is, really, unsustainable in either the short term or the long term. And when (not, sadly if) it stops, then things will get very ugly very fast. Very.
Read his article. 2/3 of every dollar in the us is spent on some form of entitlement. And that number is growing. Plus the incredible debt load.
Scary.
Brownells loses an asset
This is a loss for Brownells (and the shooting community):
Larry Weeks is retiring.
I can honestly say that I have never met a nicer guy. Just plain decent and kind.
Not sure what he is gonna do (besides the racing bit) but I wish him the best of luck.

And yet the media is strangely silent:
"Snitches get Stitches" (or worse)
So one of the witnesses in the Mike Brown/Darren Wilson shooting incident was found dead (and set on fire) after one of the nighttime riots.
Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. No suspects either. Strange that, innit?
But yer not hearing about it on the Nightly News, areya?
Wonder why?

4 years
Dogs never forget. Really, they don't.
Vet reunited with dog after 4 years.
4 years he was trying to find his dog after his (ex) girlfriend gave his dog away while he was in Afghanistan.
She (the girlfriend) should be beaten and then euthanized, but that is just my opinion.

So the question is:
Who, exactly, is pushing this meme of "Black men are being indisciminately killed by police officers in unprecedented numbers" (which is a terrible misrepresentation)....
And the other question is Why are "they" pushing such a meme, and why now?
I mean, the number of back men killed by other black men (not cops at all, and not white cops) is larger by a significant factor...Why are they pushing the meme that the black men need "Justice" and such and blaming police (rather than the society they have created)?
I mean, I expect that the Mike Brown thing was pushed to rile the black voters to rally them to vote. But what is the advantage now? The elections are over, so really...WHY?
What is the game plan?

Dec 7
Yeah, Pearl Harbor Day.
A "sneak" attack on our forces in Pearl Harbor.
Lots of men killed, lots of ships damaged, lots of planes destroyed.
But really, was it a sneak attack? Or was it just the fact that at the time, the military leaderships was inept and too bureaucratic to be able to do their jobs?
Either way, remember the men killed that day, and the many individual acts of Heroism that occurred.
And remember that Japan, after being squeezed into this action, got the war they wanted.

Sending a message:
So the Grand Jury decided NOT to charge Officer Daniel Pantaleo with the death of Eric Garner.
Ok. evidence shows he died of heart attack, and not from the chokehold.
I can buy that: Don't struggle with police when arrested (and don't break the law) and none of this would have happened.
Eric Garner WAS breaking the law, no matter how stupid you might think the law was (hey, the pack of cigarettes from which those "looseys" came from was taxed, so the State got their money....even if selling a "loosey" was illegal). But lets not discuss that right now.
Do ya know who DID get indicted (and jailed) over this incident? The dude who filmed it. Seems that somehow, Police observed him putting a .25 ACP handgun in the waistband of another person....just before he was searched {Cough THROWDOWN! Cough} and charged him with the possession of a firearm..... Interesting that Ramsey Orta got tossed in jail.....
That'll each people who film incidents involving the police to release their video....Won't it?
Tell me again about coincidences? And that the "Blue Line" doesn't exist? (especially in New York!)

Y'know, the media
Or, at least, whoever holds their leash, has accomplished a great deal with the sensationalization of Mike Brown's death at the hands of (now exonerated) officer Darrin Wilson.
Yes, they stirred up the ghetto people (some small percentage of whom likely voted in the midterm elections....maybe)....Yes, they got the whole Black against White thing going again, as it had faded in the time since the Trayvon Martin debacle..... Yes, they stirred up the welfare underclass (at least the black portion). Yes, they got riots to occur under the guise of protests...(one wonders how many of the rioters (as opposed to protesters) were local to the area and how many were....imported?)
The other thing they accomplished was to set back by about 30 years the view that whites had about blacks. Bad enough that we already saw a portion of the black community as a danger, and as leeches on society and criminals (some of which had a basis, at least, in reality). No, what the mongerers did was to help reinforce in nearly every white mind the stereotypes (some earned, some not) of how black people act, and how they see the whites that they encounter. Of how the blacks (or at least a significant portion of them) feel entitled to freebies, and how they feel entitled to steal, loot and destroy. How they think so differently than the whites that robbing or stealing is acceptable and that there should be no consequences......
In short, they have allowed every white person, even those who were willing to give black people a chance, to begin to wonder if every black person, deep down, fits the stereotypes. Lazy, no good, drug using, thieving wastrels who are good for nothing but trouble. Best not to allow them to move into your neighborhood, you know, and if they do, best to move out as soon as possible......
Even the most open minded white persons have to wonder. Have to, at least a little, fear. Have to think that that racist guy they know who preaches white separatism and/or supremacy might well be right?
I posted this image, with the notice that it HAD to be photoshop .....and most of the people who saw it thought so too......and later had a link in comments to show the original... But quite a few people that I know of said..."so what? It is how they think"....like that leftist "fake but accurate" George Bush TNG memo. Some people really don't care that it isn't real, because it sums up how they believe the people who look like, act like, talk like, lived with, befriended, and raised Mike Brown seem to think. They are willing to paint all black people with that brush... And blacks across the board are willing to see all white people as willing enablers of cops who kill, in cold blood, for no reason (other than they are black), young black men....no matter what the evidence might show.
So congrats, whoever you are, you destroyed any chance for another generation or two for equality and integration. For Dr. Kings dream to become reality.....And for black people to have the willingness to change their culture and embrace success. To reinforce all the stereotypes that do so much to keep us apart.
Good job.

Yes, at times I am a juvenile. Sue me.
So Barry is gonna provide funding
Using, of course, borrowed taxpayer dollars, for up to 50,000 police cameras.
I think police cameras area a good idea, but I expect that they will be abused...bad police will fail to turn them on, or they will be "accidentally" damaged, or the images will somehow get deleted when it is deemed expedient for it to happen.....
And lets face it, the folks in Ferguson would still have rioted. Ii was time. Look at history. Every so often....
But, sadly, the first thing I thought when I heard the news about the Feds funding the cameras was "I wonder which of Barry's friends will get the contract to supply the cameras and the service contract afterwards?"
Sad that that is what we have come to.
If you do the math, that is $1500 per camera, which seems high, considering that a Go-Pro basic camera goes for less than $130.
Of course, this may not be comparing apples to apples, but still, more than 10X the price?

This
This post saddens me....Go read it. I'll wait.
Done? Good.
It saddens me. A lot. Kinda angers me too.
Not because anything she says is wrong, nor incorrect. In fact, she's right. Some of "America" is racist. She, for instance, is racist. She sees color. Color matters to her. Color is important. Me?: Color matters not a whit. Interests and culture matter to me. Race doesn't. But to her, it does. And to many, of all races, it does.
But it only faces one side of the issue. And I think she is suffering from "White guilt" for some unknown reason
Yes, many white people have a very few black friends. I have that "issue". I am not ashamed of it. I live in an area where there are few black people. Few black people share my interests....Of those who do, I welcome them. Not my fault that few enough people like to shoot and hunt. Not my fault that not too many black people (or Hispanics) live in my area (some do, but not many...Oddly there are not a lot of black people who seem to want to live in very rural areas in NW Indiana. )
But how many black people have good friends who are white? Not just acquaintances from work, but real friends? How many have invited them over for dinner or a cookout or something like that? I have done so with a fair amount of people from other cultures and while some come out to my home, few black people are comfortable driving into the country. Not my fault that they choose not be integrated either.
Why does the author blame herself for her self perceived failure to fully integrate her social life? I don't feel that I am a failure for not having 12.6% of my social circle be black (like I care what color any of my friends are, really.....It takes a certain kind of asshole to be part of my social circle, and color is NOT one of the qualifications, trust me....) How many people are calling her to come and be a part of their "black" social circle? Really? Is the lack at one end not just as bad as the lack at the other? Shouldn't all black people have a high percentage of white friends too? Like, say 6:1 ratio (white to black)? Should we each have 72% White 12.6% Black (African American) 4.8% Asian and 10.2% (OTHER) friends? Is there some special percentage that makes me not a racist? Or really, is the fact that I care not a whit about race? There is that whole "content of character" rather than the "color of the skin" thing, for me, anyway.....Shouldn't we base our friendship on real, important factors other than race?
I find this sort of self- flagellation to be irritating. People separate themselves into circles based on common interests, on common goals and on common needs. If I am to be friends with you, then we have to have some common ground, and be able to talk and discuss things and have common needs and wants and interests. If you and I have nothing in common because you are a person who lives on welfare and watches "Survivor" and thinks that any story from CNN is the truth (or, for that matter, Fox News) and you live in the city and I live in the country (both of us by choice) and you think that guns are bad, or that the DNC is the savior of the human race, or that Unions are the saving grace of the country or that the country will only be saved when your brand of religion becomes dominant, then what do we have in common? Do ya really think that we are gonna be friends no matter what color we are?
I have a fair number of people, both black, white and hispanic that I am friendly with, that I greatly respect, and who, if they call, I will turn out to help in any way they ask. Color matters little to me, nor to them except as a descriptor of physical characterisics.. We respect and admire each other, and if our interests intersect then we are glad of that. They know that if a pipe breaks in the middle of the night they can call me for help, and that if I break down and need a ride at midnite I may well call them if I am near where they live. We shoot together, or do other things together, and that is enough. We aren't great social animals, we don't get together for coffee on weekdays after 5 or do lunch or anything like that (except for the bowling that I do on Friday nights, where color doesn't matter anymore than gender, as long as you have a good time bowling)
Are these people my friends? By my definition, yes. Are we terribly social? No. (Facebook isn't a measure here, 'cause few of us use it). But if they call me I'll be there. And I can call them and have them show up when I need them. And for me, that is the important thing.
Facebook be damned.

"Sum Nigga"
Classy people in Ferguson:
Dude livestreaming the unrest in Ferguson gets his phone stolen by another black man....
4:05
"Where from?"
"Sum Nigga"
Hows come they can use that word to describe each other but I can't.
This is the kind of folks that live in Ferguson. People like Mike Brown. Nice people it seems.

So with the continuing coverage of the Ferguson protests:
It occurs to me that these people still aren't satisfied that Officer Wilson was exonerated by the Grand Jury.....
Itt occurs to me that they are guilty of judging the dude when they don't have any more idea what happened than anyone else. All they see is race. Were white people assuming that a man was automatically guilty just because he was black, that would be racism. But when they do it (in reverse) it is ok.
What these people want is a lynching.
And they are guilty of what they accuse white people of being.

Retribution is a bitch, ain't it?
Seems that Julie Bosman is afraid.....People are calling her home, sending her food and generally making her life....interesting.
ANd they are doing it enough that she is calling the police to report that she is afraid and "feels harassed".
Well, honey, life is a bitch, innit? Now you have just a small bit of what you and your partner gave to Darren Wilson.
Not so pretty, is it? Hope you get enough that you learn a leson.
Interesting double standard there, isn't it? That behavior was ok for her, and she had to know the hell she was unleashing on Officer Wilson....But when it comes around to her, she isn't happy.
I wonder if she has a gun? And interesting that she is calling cops (with guns) to protect her......

Has anyone owned or used one of THESE?
Comments?
The reviews are good, but I find it hard to believe that:
A: you can get 400 amps through those teeny tiny little battery clamps and cables (much less the connector)
2: you can even GET 400 amps out of a battery pack like that, even dead shorted.
III. you can get 10-20 starts out of such a small battery.
I mean, a huge capacity battery pack like that would be great for traveling to charge the assorted devices we use. Lots of recharges. 12 AH battery will power a cell fone for for a long time and all.....
And having a jump starter is never a bad thing.
But the jump starter part seems too good to be true. 400A...even once?
Yet, as I said, the reviews are really really good. Not all of the 375 5-star commenters can be lying or paid shills.....
This is a metaphor for the nodern "Back Equality" movement:::
Black Panther plot foiled by......EBT card.
No, Seriously. Note this: Hadda wait on Girlfriends EBT card to get supplies.
I mean, how much more stereotypical does it get?

Isn't perjury a crime?
(I chose not to post this until after Thanksgiving was over......)
I mean, if I lie in testimony to a court or in a deposition, am I not committing perjury?
If you read the testimonies in the Mike Brown case, there were quite a few who outright lied....the forensic evidence shows that their testimony was a lie. Some admitted that the "embellished" the parts they witnessed. Others admitted that they weren't present for much (or any) of the incident.
Now... I have to wonder why no one is (as far as we know) being charged with perjury? Is it just because this is a touchy political and ethnically charged situation?
I mean, some of the testimony accuses Officer Wilson of executing Mr. Brown by shooting him in (depending on the the witness) either in the back as he was running away (with and/or without his hands up) or in the back of the head (one accuser said they witnessed 10 shots!) while he lay on the ground.
I realize that many black people in that neighborhood really hate white people in general (and white COPS specifically)....but this testimony would pout a cop in jail for murder. I realize that the killing of a black 18 year old enrages the black population, and that they would, if they could, lynch the man who did it....for whatever reason. All they see is black and white and cop. They really don't care why or what the situation that made it happen.
But really, shouldn't perjury be a crime? Shouldn't these people be charged with giving a false statement that could, potentially have put Officer Wilson in jail for murder? Shouldn't they be facing the penalty for perjury? If not, why should anyone ever tell the truth?

Choices:
It occurs to me that the choices Mike Brown (the "Gentle Giant") made that fateful day were what led up to his demise.
He chose to steal cigars:
He chose to push the shopkeeper around:
He chose to walk down the middle of the street, attracting attention to himself:
He chose NOT to move to the sidewalk when asked by Officer Darren Wilson:
He chose to fight with Officer Wilson:
He chose to ignore the orders to stop:
He chose to turn around and confront Officer Wilson:
He chose to ignore another order to stop and get on the ground:
Witnesses (credible ones) corroborate the story.
He made all those decisions. The result was his death. He could have stopped the chain at any time by making better choices.

If she's smart
She will use the donated money to move to another area and start over.
Not do business with the neighborhood that harbors the animals the trashed her bakery.....not give them the service of a good bakery...Not contribute any tax money to the area that failed to properly police it's citizens and protect the businesses in the area. Certainly not employ anyone in the area.
She should urge all other decent citizens and all the businesses to do the same...

If you care to read
The full report from the Grand Jury....
Go HERE. (it is, for some reason, incomplete, but it is the best report I have seen so far) Interview #57 (page 4) is....interesting.
Again: I don't know what happened, and neither do you. I do know that Mike Brown wasn't the choir boy the parents say he was, nor is Officer Wilson the bloodthirsty madman other say HE was.
THe witness accounts differ a bit. But most of them jibe with the story Darren Wilson gave.
No one will ever know for sure. I do know that, like the Trayvon Marin shooting, outside forces made things worse by only telling part of the story and twisting (and also not reporting) facts.
I also can't help but notice that this happened a few months before an election, just like the Trayvon Marin debacle...
One thing I realized last night
Is that, while there may be other reasons for "White Flight" and separatists and all the other actions people take that are perceived as racist....
The events in Ferguson (both earlier this summer and last night), as compared the fact that they DIDN'T happen in areas where the demographic is, shall we say, different, should be a good indication as to why decent people of all races move away from areas like Ferguson. They don't like to live in areas where such things are likely to happen.
In my area (and likely in yours) no one torched any businesses, no one broke windows or looted stores. No one burned or overturned nor broke the windows out of any cars (police or not). No one feared any of those actions might take place, simply because the people who live here (and it is a fairly mixed area) are decent people, rather than the kind of folks who remain in Ferguson after all the others moved out.
Are there racial tensions? Yes, to an extent. But people (of all races) don't generally get pulled over and treated badly by the police because they don't look, dress or act like thugs and lowlifes, nor act like criminals.
Are the police perfect? Not at all. Nor are the citizens.
But we aint't Ferguson style folks, either.....

Now I know she is an Obama voter....
Nurse Amber Vinson (the one who traveled while running a fever and showing other Ebola symptoms after treating the ebola patient who DIED in Dallas) now wants a refund of her deposit at the Bridal Shop (which was forced to close for decontamination after her visit).
Were she not female, I'd say that she had a big set of balls to ask that.
Were she not female, I'd say that she had a big set of balls to ask that.
I hope, when I die
That in remembrance of me, my supporters will loot something worthwhile, like a National Guard Armory or a bank or something..at least a Bass Pro Shop or a Cabela's or a Gander Mountain.
Not something as small and insignificant as a Family Dollar....
'Cause nothing says "we remember you and will avenge your death!" like looting a Family Dollar store.

Listening to the scanners:
Seems like at least some folks in the crowds are trying to piss off the Police. Throwing things at the crowds and such.
How long will they be calm? Were I a police officer having stuff tossed at me, I don't know that I would be willing to endure it long, and at some point I'd start kicking ass. (Which is why I am not a police officer!). I don't envy those cops who have to be out on the streets tonight.
I pray no one is killed (or injured) tonight....but it looks like the rioters will see to it that someone is.
Idiots. Rioting isn't gonna bring Brown back, nor will it change things.
ETA: These groups ofrioters looters protesters seem to not fear police at all. One might think they felt they were immune to prosecution.
ETAII: Turning ugly, cops are retreating from several groups. I hope the cops are ok tonight.
Why do these folks trash their own neighborhoods?
If you wanna listen, the link is here: http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/ctid/1573
I'm turning in for the evening.

Decision reached,,,
Announcement at 4 pm.
Frostify if need be.
ETA: Now 6 PM announcement....
ETA2: Now pushed back to 8 pm. I think they are gonna keep pushing it back so therioters protestors will be all keyed up over and over and then when the time comes will be burnt up. Plus it'll be colder then.
Harder to be a bad ass looter when yer fingers and face are freezing.

Choo no
I was terribly underwhelmed by the fact that none of the illegals that the media could find to comment on Barry's immigration speech and proposal, could, despite being in the US for 5+ years (otherwise they wouldn't be eligible) could speak passable english in their interviews about the reactions to Barry Soretoro's illegal executive action on immigration.,,,, 5 or more years, and they can barely be understood in english. Couldn't speak enough to order food nor to deal with a traffic ticket in court.
I know many true immigrants (hell, I worked for some years ago!), most still speak with an accent, but ALL of them can speak the main language of their adopted county fairly well.
Not so these people Barry has tried to help.

How it really works:
Sorta like this, any more.......
Executive orders should never be allowed to stand more that 30 days. Ever. That'd let the prezident act quickly in an emergency, but let congress control things like the Constitution directs.

As I (and many others with any knowledge of physics and engineering) have said:
"It Just Won't Work".
Google paid several engineers to try and find a way that renewable energy could be made to work.
Their conclusion: It won't.....It cannot be made to work. Period.
All renewables, those we know and those we can envision barely, at best, produce more energy that what is required to produce the device. Every Single One. Every Time.
This is Google, which so very much wants to find a way to power humanity on Magic Fairy Dust and Unicorn Farts in order to save the planet from humanity and evil Carbon Dioxide....
their conclusion: Ain't Gonna Happen.
Sorry AlGore.

The IRS folks demand that I produce a W-2 or a 10-99 or a reciept, I am gonna just refuse to bother to look for it.
I mean, really they act that way, and NO ONE IS BEING PROSECUTED for obstruction of justice...If they can do it, I guess that the rest of us can as well....
(Myself, I think they were taking the time to review (and possibly edit) the e-mails to make sure that there was nothing pointing to any higher ups....Especially Barry)

Just a thought:
Today, 51 years ago, we learned just how good a shot some guy called Lee Harvey Oswald was.
Our nation needs men who can shoot that well today.....
Just sayin'.

Pretty weak
For a "Fuck You" speech, that was pretty weak.
And the proposed emigration solution isn't really workable, is it?

"That's not how Democracy works"
" I swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States"
But he doesn't want to follow it anymore......
You should watch this clip...the entire 8 minutes (Ad first, sorry).
Show it to your Liberal friends.
Have 'em explain.
I can't wait to hear his arguments as to how things have changed to make this legal....or right.

Things change:
“The biggest problems that we’re facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all, and that’s what I intend to reverse when I’m President of the United States of America.”

Y'know
One has to wonder who Bill Cosby has pissed off enough that someone is orchestrating a smear campaign against him by resurrecting 30 year old charges against him that were, if not disproven back then, were at least in doubt enough that no authorities pursued them 30 years ago.
What did he do to make this person (or persons) stir things up? To want to trash his reputation? Why now?
I mean, really, is is hard to believe that these women (from different locations and different professions and different backgrounds) just somehow all decided to bring up these old charges again without someone orchestrating the whole thing.....
Politics of Personal Destruction and all that......

Is this true?
I can't find anything to prove it, one way or another:
"Obama's proposed Amnesty will loot Social Security and Medicare"
If so, it might well again come back to his mentor and their love of Cloward-Piven.

And, amazingly, enrollment dropped:
Seems that Maine decided to stop the waiver for a work requirement for food stamps.
And, amazingly enough, the enrollment in the SNAP program dropped.....
Indiana has done the same....and the same thing happened...People who have to either work at a job or contribute to the community in order to get freebies suddenly decide they don't need that freebie as much...
Amazing that. Now we need more of it elsewhere as well.

It occurs to me...
That it *COULD* be that the authorities in MO in general and Ferguson in particular have heard that the Grand Jury is gonna indict Officer Darren Wilson....and they expect the white folk in the area to riot, and burn, and loot in protest.
What? (stop laughing!) Could happen....right? We do that all the time, don't we? I mean there is a history going back over a hundred years of white people trashing their own neighborhoods in protest when something makes the get all riled up and shit, right?
I have one question: Is it cultural or genetic?

Warning order:
Decision soon?
Just heard from a guy I know in the Missouri National Guard:
They (the Guvner) have declared a state of emergency in MO and expect a decision soon...They've lit the phone tree and expect the orders soon.
I have a call into someone who is in the east ST. Louis area, 'cause he told me they'd received their warning orders last weekend.
Pretty well tells us what they expect to happen, doesn't it? And what the Grand Juryis gonna has decided....
Stay frosty.
ETA: For once on the civil front, I agree with Murphy.

Truth.
So, due to vacations, I've been working in areas that I generally don't, covering those folks who are on vacation.
Now, I work with a lot of middle aged women, and they tend to ....chat....A lot. No group of 1+ women can work in silence, it seems. They discuss weather, finances, clothing, styles, other women, other women, other women, people in general, other women, relationships, etc.
So, while I am not much of the kind of person who likes to listen to other people's conversations, sometimes circumstances force that to happen. They never stopped talking and simply forgot that I was there.
Last week, I heard more than I ever cared to about several ladies. And I found out that one of them is ...unhappy...with the attention that her husband is paying her.
I found out that she has gone out of her way to make herself attractive to him, buying lots and lots of lingerie, and having her hair done and nails and all sorts of other woman style tricks to make him notice her and want her. (Sadly, she doesn't bother to realize that few of these will make her more attractive in HIS eyes, but only make her feel good about herself).
The other ladies were sympathetic and supportive. It is, of course, the fault of the man here.
No one pointed out that she has, in the past 5 years, gone from a shapely (if large) physique (rubenesque might be appropriate here), to a shape that more closely resembles a barrel with legs. She was never a slim woman as long as I have known her, but she at least had a shape. Hips, if large, and a waist. ....Now as I said, she no longer looks like that....she resembles a barrel with arms and legs. Has a huge jelly roll, and is, frankly, fat. I never cared much one way or the other as she is a co-worker, not anyone I could or would be interested in, but I felt sad that no one, not one of her female friends, would point out to her that she was, frankly, fat...if not the edge of obese. That to most men she wasn't attractive. None of her co-workers suggested that she lose say...,..30 or 50 lbs. (I certainly wasn't going to, that is for sure!)
Now I understand that in a perfect world this wouldn't matter, but to most men, it does. Physical attractiveness is linked to health and fertility, and that is just the way it is..... Ladies: Here is a hint....if you have no waist (or if your waist is thicker and bigger around than your hipbones), and if your belly sticks out farther than yer boobs, then you might want to think about a diet and/or exercise.
But the ladies all commiserated with her on how it was a shame that "He" wouldn't look at her anymore. How it was a shame that men just don't look at women as they age. And all that other folderol that fails to admit the truth: For most men, fat (really fat) isn't attractive.

Just a thought:
In a just world, Rose Eveleth would be fired from her job and shunned by all for her whiny, bitchy tirade against Dr. Matt Taylor.
She shows why some people believe that women should be cloistered by their fathers until they are sent to an all women's school until they meet their (arranged) husband. You women are all obviously too weak and sensitive to be able to deal with the real world...and are too easily disturbed by things to be allowed to run free in the modern world.
What, really has she ever done that is productive, constructive or worthwhile?

Sunday thought:
“What can be said for a man who would
allow his home to be invaded by strangers who demanded they be fed,
clothed, housed and granted the rights of the first-born? What can be
said for a ruling elite that permits this to be done to the nation, and
who celebrate it as a milestone of moral progress?” — Patrick Buchanan (State of Emergency, 2006)
So can I hold services in mosques?
'Cause the Muslims get to hold services in a CHRISTIAN cathedral. Seems some chick objected and got tossed out.
I actually believe in religious tolerance. I really don't care how you worship, or whom you worship. Couldn't care less., Your business, not mine. Until you make it my business. But there is a point where the Muslims are starting to piss even me off. They (or at least a subset of them) seem to feel that they have to defile every single other religious place with theirs. Now, "Defile" may be too strong of a word, but really. I haven't ever seen any Christian or Jewish services held in a Mosque. And rightly so. It'd piss the Muslims off. But they seems to feel that doing similar things to Christian houses of worship is ok.
At some point, in order to keep the peace in this country, we are going to have to say, and enforce, "No" to these muslims.
Or there is gonna be a war.
And we are gonna end up like Sweden and England (look it up yourself) and Germany (ditto).

And yet they want everyone else to
"Accommodate Women"
I mean, we've gotta give 'em up to two years to decide whether they want to come back from giving birth, (and have to hold her job for her so that IF she returns, she gets it back). We gotta give her special treatment and cannot charge more for insurance, even though her use of medical facitlites will be 37% higher than a mans (on average).
If we object, then we are part of the "War on Women"
But the DNC can't accommodate a pregnant member of their own party....
Sad, this continuing war on women by the DNC......Especially the women of the DNC.

It's not always a natural disaster
That you can prep for:
Sometimes it is your fellow citizens that might make life difficult for a few days...
Ferinstance, say you live near Ferguson, MO... Like the nearby town of Berkeley.....
I guess that the authorities expectthe some black folks in the area to riot if the decision of the Grand Jury goes the way it looks like it will.
If I were living in, or nearby to, a largely urban area, I think I might take heed. The cops I know expect sympathy riots to happen in larger urban areas. While they don't think that too much will happen, there may be some who march (which is harmless), and others who use this as an excuse toloot riot (which is not harmless).
If you travel through, or work in such an area, I'd pay close attention, and leave work early if possible when things break. If you have a business in such an area, I'd think about having plans to secure it quickly, and either have stocked supplies so I could stay and protect, or a plan and several routes to leave soon after securing my building. Each
Have a plan to retrieve yer kids if they have to travel through an area to get home from school too.
Preparation is the key here. If and when, you'll be glad you had a plan.

Big bad SWAT
Because SWAT, that's why.
Not sure of all the details here, but the VIDEO (bottom of article if you haven't seen it already) is pretty dramatic. (Warning: might be disturbing to some)
I mean, really, a 5 lb dog? A danger? Or just because?
Now most of this could have been avoided by the dogs owner not being stupid, I will admit...But still.
And I want to know where I can buy one of those "Armor Piercing Crossbows"?
Methinks the dog was irritating the SWAT boys as they stacked up for the door rush....and since they had their guns handy,,,,,

Will our congress let him get away from it?????
So rumor has it that Barry is gonna just write an executive order that legalizes a whole bunch of illegal aliens immigrants.
Now this, in my opinion, is illegal. HE DOESN'T GET TO WRITE LAWS. Laws are made, and voted on, our two Houses of Congress. He gets a veto on the laws presented to him, period.
At least that is what the Constitution says.
Barry ain't a king, and our Congressmen and women and our Representatives need to remind him of that. They've let him get away with acting like one, but this has to stop. There needs to be a message sent, and, if need be, a court challenge to his executive orders should he choose to attempt to legalize a bunch oflawbreakers criminals border crossing illegal aliens who have broken our laws and care little for the country. Our representatives need to stop him this time.
If Barry can break the law and is not bound by laws, and if he is not bound by the Constitution, the why should the rest of us be? Why should I acknowledge the legitimacy of his authority under the same document he flaunts?

And that is a good point
Tam has a really good point to ponder.
Why should I follow the law, when there appear to be no consequences for those who don't?
When being an upright, honorable, model citizen means I get jacked for piddly little shit, when Mr. Violent Sumdood gets away with blatant misdeeds because the po-po just can't be bothered.......

wreck
Today, 39 years ago, the Edmund Fitzgerald was lost. Broken in two, she lays in 530 feet of water near the Canada US boundary near Whitefish bay in Lake Superior.
29 men died that day, Nov 10 1975.
Gordon Lightfoot made a large sum of money with his ballad, not much of which was facts. But were it not for his ballad, there'd be little remembrance of that loss.
29 men died, and that is the sad part.Their families remember though.

Might explain Liberalism:
Scientists find virus that hinders Cognitive functions...
Now we at last have a reason for Liberals and their poor logic......
Fanning the flames
Seems that *Someone* wants to stir people up.
Perhaps make another day of rage.
'Cause we all know that, without any facts at all, we can judge the actions of others based solely on race, right?
Now, I don't know what happened that day in Ferguson, Mo...neither do you, nor do any of the folks who want Officer Wilson lynched (and yes, they want a lynching). Reports are that there are (more that) several witnesses who dispute the stories being bandied about by the race baiters and the rabble rousers. And all of THOSE witnesses are black.
I haven't heard their testimony, so I really don't know, but reports are that they more or less corroborate the testimony of Officer Wilson.
I refuse to make any judgement. I do know that young Mr. Brown appears to not have been a very nice person, that evidence disputes the "Gentle Giant" meme, and that Officer Wilson appeared to be a good officer.
But again: I. Don't. Know. And I am not willing to judge either one based on facts not in evidence. I *DO know that there is a disparate news coverage based on race. I *DO* believe that this is being pushed to start (or inflame) a race war.
I *DO* know that most people (of any color/race/ethnicity) couldn't protest if they wanted to....because they are working for a living. Only the unemployed, the welfare takers, and those who don't have to work for a living have the time to protest, and have noting to lose if they are arrested, so they are gonna be there. Decent, hardworking people likely won't be.

So:
In order to save time (like 2 hours disassembling some machinery, the the same reassembling) I used an old fashioned method of fixing something....Which included turning a piece of tooling with a 24" pipe wrench about 2 foot over my head. (with the help of a piece of pipe for additional leverage)
The result? I did indeed save 3+ hours. I impressed myself and my helper with the amount of force I could exert..
And I appear to have damaged the deltoid and top of the bicep in my right arm.
That was 2 weeks ago.
Now when I was 18, and had an injury like that? It'd heal in a day or three, 5 tops. Not too sore after a day or two.
Not so much today......now that I am on the downhill side of the half century mark. It has been getting more and more painful. Not healing at all.
Tiger Balm and massage, and if I'm lucky, I'll be able to hold a 1911 up at shoulder level for 60 seconds in a day or two.... 'Cause right now, I have to shoot as soon as the sights are on target, 'cause I can't hold the gun up long.
Aging sucks.

I got wood...serious wood
I used a different set of log tongs (still gonna make a set as soon as I find some half inch plate) to pick up the rounds in my front yard and stack 'em in the back yard. It's nice having the tractor to pick 'em up.
Yeah, those rounds stacked are 70+inches tall.
Plus these:
Makes for a lot of wood. It'll make a LOT of firewood come next year.
I used a set of these:
Which are nice tongs, for what they are, but they really don't grip the logs the way the tongs that I lost . They just sorta hook the wood. Yeah, they are meant for skidding, not lifting, but they really won't replace what I had, either.
I'm still gonna make a new set. I gotta find some 1/2" drops that are like 18"X 6"

So the cops
are telling me they are hoping the Ferguson/Brown/Wilson Grand Jury decision (which by all accounts if is anything resembling fair, will exonerate Officer Wilson) happens later in the week, as then the weather will be cold and somewhat windy, and the protests in major urban areas will be less motivated to stay out and make trouble....In other words, they'll fizzle out fairly quickly, if they happen at all.
Seems that they all believe that these folks will only protest when it is convenient, and they'll protest only because they don't have anything better to do. and won't when they might get uncomfortable doing it.
I hope they are right about this.

Fuck 'em
Who says they have any authority, anyway?
What right does the "Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission" have telling any business that they can't refuse to provide goods or services to anyone?
A privately owned business should be able to choose who, when, where and how they do business. If they don't want to do business with someone, then that is their choice. Not up to the government, be it state, local or federal. If they want to discriminate based on religion, or race, or gender or whatever, that is between them and their customers....Not any government entity...Iif the Human Rights Commission is actually a government entity)
I would have issues were this a publicly funded entity such as a school or a government office, but it isn't. It is a private business.
I'd contribute to a legal defense fund, if he goes to court and needs help.

To Loretta Lynch.
She is as racist as Eric Holder, if not worse.
I expected as much from Barry, but still. Let us hope all those white folks in the Senate say "No" as well.

I expected as much from Barry, but still. Let us hope all those white folks in the Senate say "No" as well.

Rumor has it
That things are gonna get all...exciting...in Ferguson and surrounding areas very soon.
Were I a business owner, I'd have tried to find a way to secure my business better.
Or I'da closed it down already, or sold it.
The local Sheriff has told me they expect sympathy riots in the South Side of Chicago and Gary.
Oughta be interesting.
If yer in, or work in, or must pass through a "minority area" then I'd stay frosty.

They should make his casket
Out of CorningWare too....
Inventor of CorningWare dies.
Lots and lots of stuff became possible because of his accidental discovery of PyroCeram, (glass ceramics).
And lots of people ate meals that could only have been made in CorningWare dishes. Especially the square ones with the ears....
Nope, I'm not talking about Pyrex...that is an entirely different subject .

Bundy Ranch news
Seems that the BLM is going about things in a different direction....an end run around.
HERE
"Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs) are human restricted management areas. ACECs have been a tool used by the federal government to gain further control of large masses of western lands and the resources.
As proposed, nearly 3 million acres in Southern Nevada will be locked away from the people. This includes most uses on the land (recreational, agricultural or otherwise)."
Read the whole thing. Yeah, the Bundy's are biased, but still....
If they do this, will "Dirty Harry" still get his solar plant?

Oh, and one more thing:
This election, and your win in many places, was NOT a mandate for your policies, but rather the citizenry making the
No one wants "DNC lite" here, we want conservative leaders. Please Please please don't think that you have to appease your opponents, nor their followers. You won because you weren't them, so don't be like them after the election.
Stand for something...don't disappoint your constituents.
OK, GOP:
You've got control of the Senate. And the House.
Great.
NOW DO SOMETHING WITH IT!.
Fix things. I expect to see some legislation coming very soon to fix the last few years. Like repeal of Obamacare, so people can be able to work full time again. Like getting the economy back to working. Like reduction of spending, getting the deficit under control.
Make Barry veto stuff. Make him stand for his failures.
Change the attitude of the government towards the citizens.
Time to be conservatives, and STAND FOR SOMETHING. Don't pander to the other side. They couldn't get enough votes. You did.
Try, very hard, not to fuck up as badly.

By all the polls
The Republican backed candidates are gonna win big.
Maybe.
Can they overcome the "Margin of Fraud"? The DNC folks have ramped things up in that arena lately.
My polling place uses paper ballots. They are read by an electronic reader, true, but they can always be rechecked bu a human if need be. There is still a ballot that can be viewed, unlike the touch screen setups with "calibration errors" that leave no permanent record of the vote.
We shall see.
The Republicans will take their win as a mandate, not realizing that people just want anyone else but what they have now. If I felt it would send a message, I'd either not vote or vote for third party...But OG has convinced me to vote (at least this time) for the lesser of the two weasels.

If more people knew this
Or if the MSM would do the job they claim to;
Then the borders would be closed very shortly thereafter.
The CDC admits that disease was imported along with the illegal immigrant kids this summer..... Measles, enterovirus, flu etc. Which was orchestrated by the Democrats and the Obama administration cronies. Kids have DIED because they were exposed to diseases brought by these children from other countries.
IF the American people understood, they'd lynch the Obama folks.

Well, shit.
So today (Saturday) I went with some friends to get a few tons of firewood. Storm damaged oak, to be exact. Really big oak. The tree was circa 120 years old, the rounds coming in a just under 48" on average. This was the first real work I had done since I tried to remove my left index finger with a table saw a few weeks ago..(look for an upcoming post about that soon).
Took the tractor on the trailer to my brother's house, and began loading tree parts. 10K pounds or so on my trailer, about 8k on the other one, and about 6 on the smaller one. Took that to my house and unloaded...the rounds roll right off if you place then right when loading.
Second run, we put another 10K pounds or so on my trailer, about 10k on the other one, and about 8k on the smaller one. (which was about 1500 lbs too much). Left the tractor there so bro could do some work with a plan for retrieval later in the week.
Dropped one trailer load at my neighbor's house, and went about 20 miles to drop the others. (stopped and moved the smaller trailer's load a bit, moving about 1k to my trailer and moving the other 500 or so lbs to the front of the trailer to make it balance better.
Now, the last stuff we loaded wasn't rounds, but broken pieces that we didn't need the log tongs for...At that point, things become murky. My brother took the tongs off of the hook on the loader bucket...that much is sure. No one really knows what happened after that. All we know is that several hours later bro calls and says "Where are the log tongs?" He thinks he left 'em on the trailer, and I had assumed that when he took them off of the tractor bucket he put them somewhere safe. I did hear a "klank" as if I had lost or run over something when driving to the unload point but I looked in the mirror and didn't see anything so I kept going...I mean, I didn't expect there to be anything but logs and ratchet straps on the trailer, and I could see both the straps in the mirror,........., so I dunno...,and when I went back to that stretch of road, there wasn't anything to be found...I walked close to 4 miles of that road to try and find them. I DROVE the entire route, but again, no joy. If they fell off the trailer, someone else has a really good set of log tongs now...I had assumed that the tongs were with the tractor, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Now I wouldn't mind this much, as a few tens of dollars will buy a set of mediocre log tongs. But I MADE these and have had them for over 18 years. I cut and bent them and hard faced the points. I welded the rings to the chains that lifted and pulled the tongs closed. I welded the swivel at the juncture of the chains so that things could turn to make it easier to use 'em. They have been bent, twisted and mangled, but each time I'd toss 'em into the fire and heat 'em and beat 'em straight again. Then I'd heat em again and temper them so they wouldn't twist as much These were durable tongs...I built 'em to hold 3000 pounds, and they and picked up all of that and more. I know they have lifted 5000 pounds several times. I modified them enough to do the job the way I wanted them to. But most important, these were MINE. One of a kind. I dunno if I can recreate them.
Now they are gone. Bummer. I hope whoever found 'em on the road uses them and takes care of 'em.
I has a sad.
I'm trying to remember what the dimensions are so I can recreate the tongs. I can only sorta remember the dimensions that I built 'em to...18 years ago....And the new dimensions I bent them to after the first design sorta needed massaging. And, of course, not even a picture to scale them from. I no longer have access to a forge, either. Not sure I can bend things enough with a torch.
Now I gotta re-invent the wheel. After I find someone with a really decent plasma cutter that can cut 3/4 plate...
Next time I will check myself to see that my equipment is properly put away, rather than trusting people....

No need for a quarantine
A quarantine has no basis in science....
And now Kaci Hickox's roommate (when she was working in Sierra Lone) has Ebola.
But there is no need to quarantine Ms Hickox....There is NO CHANCE she has Ebola....
Right...
Of course, entry restrictions would prevent any chance of ever having an issue...
Even Canada has gone Anti Science and restricted Visas....but those Canadians are all racist anyway.

Just outside there...
...Is where I live.....So I saw this graphic that claims that HALF of the population lives in the blue shaded areas. (I cannot confirm this, but have seen similar graphics that show a similar pattern.)
No wonder the character of this nation has changed so drastically in my lifetime. The urban people have so much influence over so great an area that they know nothing about. Note in the second graphic the concentrations of minorities....Is it any wonder things are the way they are?

Captured
They caught Eric Frien.
He is accused of shooting 2 Pennsylvania State Troopers (killing one).
If he is guilty, then I hope he hangs. Or rides the lightning...or gets the needle. Whatever the folks in Pennsylvania use.
But I haveta ask this question:
Had he shot two "regular" people, what would have happened? What if the victims had been you and I? Would there have been a 3 week, Multi-Million dollar manhunt?
Would they have used FLIR equipped Balloons and aircraft?
Thousands of policemen? Dogs? Spent hundreds of man hours searching?
Abrogated the constitutional rights of thousands of citizens?
Would they have bothered for a non-police officer?
I doubt it.

Info bleg:
So Sitemeter (again) has issues. For the past week I haven't been able to see my stats.
Nor has the help desk been responsive. Have emailed them several times....but no reply. Have filled out their contact form as well....still no joy.
If the site loads and doesn't time out, I get a "this report is unavailable" message or I get a "Jgraph error" message.
Now the "this report is unavailable message isn't new, but the timeout issue is, I could always look at the 7 day graph to see my current stats, but now I get the table error as well.
I realize that this is a "free" service, but still....
Any suggestions for an alternative? Suggestions as to what I should stay away from?

Jokes on you:
“Paddy, you should be more careful about pulling your drapes at home. When I drove past your house last night I distinctly saw you kissing your wife.”
“Ha, well, then the joke’s on you, O’Riordan. I wasn’t home last night.”

On the bright side, he can still count the innings.....
Jose Canseco "shoots off" his middle finger while "cleaning"a gun.
Not many details, but a Negligent Discharge.
Stupid hurts.
5 states
Where "calibration errors" have resulted in Republican votes being logged as Democrat votes on electronic touch screen voting machines.
Yet there are no(reported) instances where the "Calibration Errors" have caused a machine to register a democrat vote as a republican vote.
What are the odds?
Methinks the "Margin of Fraud" has just gotten bigger.

They should toss her ass into confinement...
Nurse says she won't abide by quarantine...
Someone needs to kick some sense into Kaci Hickox.
Despite the fact that they have stricken all references of her from their website, SHE WORKED FOR THE CDC, and should know better.

Blogroll
yeah, I cleaned up a bit. Some folks just stopped posting. After 6+ months, time comes when you must go.
Yeah, yeah, I know
That I have been harping on this Ebola stuff way too much.
But really, is there no common sense in our government officials? Do the people who SHOULD know better not have the guts to stand up and say "NO!" when it comes tolying parroting the Politically Correct line of bullshit.
BTW: If you aren't reading Racontuer Report then you should be...especially THIS post...why all the aid we send is essentially a waste. And why leaving our borders open won't fix things over there. Sierra Leone is, essentially, a write off. Even the aid agencies are pulling out. And the Africans Can't/Won't /Aren't smart enough to help themselves.

And yet, oddly enough:
Troops serving in West Africa, no matter what their job, no matter who they are in contact with....
(drumroll)...
Are quarantined
So the military is convinced that quarantine works. (because it does)
But not for civilians, apparently...at least according to Barry. (We must remember to add medical disease expert to his incredibly impressive resume....)

Pants on fire.
So the folks who should know what they are talking about are parroting the line "Quarantine is ineffective" when it comes to Ebola. I am not sure why the statement was first uttered nor why Anyone would repeat it.
Seriously. How can it Not be effective? Keeping a person who may or may not have a disease under observation until the likelihood has passed that they would show symptoms or develop the disease in order that they will not infect others is "ineffective"? How so? Why is it a good idea to allow people with potentially deadly diseases to wander around the general population until they are infectious and expose others a better idea? It may be inconvenient for the people returning from affected areas, or who have given care to people here, but it WILL prevent the spread of disease here in the US. The doctors and nurses may not like the idea, but at least they know it will happen...and it will help keep ebola out of OUR population here in the US.
Quarantine works....It has worked for many years in our past. In fact, I had the pleasure of paying for a cat to be quarantined until it was determined that he did not have rabies a few weeks ago. THis was state law....that the cat remain under observation and was not allowed to interact with others until the time had passed wherein it could be determined if the cat had rabies and could infect others (and whether it had infected me).
Logic would say that if it was effective in that instance to prevent the spread of rabies, and if it has worked in our past to prevent the spread of other diseases, it would be effective now.
I don't understand why these people are effectively lying when it comes to ebola. I fail to understand their logic, and I wonder what other reasons they have for making these false statements, They are, effectively, putting people's live at risk.
Quarantine may not be 100% effective. Few things are. But quarantining people likely to be infected upon their return to the general population will greatly reduce the chances that the virus will be spread in this country.
And really, do they think the rest of us are that stupid as to believe such a statement?

I didn't buy anything
Except breakfast. And some really excellent pie.
The Nappanee Indiana fall gunshow was on Saturday.
Usually a nice show. Lots of private sellers and lots of collectibles.
Generally sane(r) prices and such, unless one is looking at 120+ year old collectible leverguns in NRA 90% or something (yes, you can find those in this small show) or WWII bringbacks (of which I know nothing, so...)
But not this year. Extremely high prices. Even if one wants a 700 in 257 Robers or something, (used), you'd find it....for $850 or more...Other pricing was similar. 870 wingshooters for $600...used. Ammo was available if a bit high. But available.
Pass.
I bought breakfast and a piece of pie. I did get to eat about a pound of Amish bacon for breakfast though.

Didja ever notice
That gun massacres and mass shootings generally happen only near election times or when the gun control folks are pushing an agenda or some new legislation?
And I bet that we find the perpetrator of this crime was on ritalin or other mind altering drugs...prescribed by a doctor.
Of am I just being paranoid?
