So when the next Assault Weapons Ban Happens

And Barry outlaws such machinery (if he can,.... and the big question: if our legislators will roll over and let him...)...

What are you gonna do?

Bury 'em in the backyard? (We will get to that later).....

Turn 'em in like the Australians did?

Really, what are ya gonna do?

A lot of New Yorkers chose to Not Comply with the "Safe Act"...
Now, apparently, (and, illegally, I think) somehow the NY State Police have 4473's....the better to knock your door down with a search warrant some evening....

Unless you have done a great job of hiding 'em, they'll find 'em. And charge you...and fine or incarcerate you.  Best have a plan and have 'em (and the ammo) hidden well.....very well.

I, for one, believe that if the time has come to hide/bury those firearms, then it is past time to use 'em instead....

But I have also taken the time over the years to make several cache areas....some near my home, some elsewhere....in order that I have options and time to plan.

All cache areas are well salted with scrap iron. Steel and aluminum washers, short (and long) bits of rebar, and allthread....some an inch long, some a foot or two....some 16 and 20 inches long. Lots of buried wire that is (oddly enough) about 20" long...the same general length of a barrel and receiver. lots of aluminum cans and small blocks of aluminum.... Lots of empty cases buried or pushed into the ground. sometimes in groups of 20 or 30....(I pick 'em up from the trash at the public ranges)...even a few buried ammo boxes here and there....

How many false positives before the searchers give up? How many pieces of 3/8" or 1/4" steel pipe buried in PVC tubes before they choose other locations? (A posthole digger is your friend here, BTW.... And this is work. Hard work) I'm not saying that ground penetrating radar wouldn't be an aid to them, but I have done can do a lot to make even that form of detection harder.....

So. Can. You.

Laying false trails makes 'em waste valuable manpower...and if they are wasting time on your well-seeded possible stash areas, they aren't looking at your neighbors or compatriots. ....Giving them time to do something. Even giving them time to think how hard they are willing to resist.

Next time you go to the hardware store/Lowes/Home Depot, ask the plumbing department for their mistakes and cutoffs......Might be you can walk out with a bunch of scrap for nothing...Seed several areas. Same-same with your neighbors recyclables. Your workshop scrap? Same-same...

Yes, it is littering. Done in a good cause.

I figure over the years I have left thousands of false triggers for the metal detectors and GPR in many areas. Some also have the cache ready for when I need 'em. Some are ready to receive the stash when the time comes.

Are You Ready?

Or will you knuckle under?  Be like the Australians in 1996? Have your freedom taken from you because of one incident used by socialist politicians who want to control you?

Plus, Note that Kalifornia can now take your weapons "Just Because"....and you don't get any notice they are in court to do so....no chance to face your accuser or defend yourself until AFTER the confiscation has taken place.......   I think if I lived there, I'd have already buried one or two.....if I absolutely HAD to live in that state......

Holy Fcuk!

Drove from NW Indiana to East Lansing Michiganistan today....and back.

Rain when I left.

Turned to freezing rain just past the state line. Then sleet. Rain, sleet. Ice, Freezing rain/Ice....then snow. Then more rain then sleet ....then snow.

Then, for the last 30 miles, nothing. Ran about a 50 MPH average where I often run 75

Loaded up my elderly passenger and his possessions, (in the sleet) and then made for home.

Sleet/slush/snow/rain...in every combination.

'Twasn't the roads, but the friggin' PEOPLE that made the drive so bad. Yes, it was slikkery, but I can deal with that. The morons? Not so much. 30 MPH on the interstate? Dude, get off the road. Fer sure, get out of the LEFT LANE. Don't be too skeered to pass the truck, either pass it or fall back and run behind it....But don't block the lane for the following 2 miles of people that can't get past you...

Grrr. 39 MPH AVERAGE...where 55 or 60 would have been safe much of the time.

But got my passenger to where he needed to be, safely, if a bit late.

So all is good.

But I HATE the first real weather because of the fools that cannot deal with it.

On the post below:

It was pointed out in an email that some might construe my post immediately below as racist.

Maybe it is. Doesn't change the facts.

But you and I both know what the media won't report.

'twasn't Amish yoots running round fighting, "Brawling" and acting badly enough to shut down an entire mall.

It wasn't psychotic Asian Lutherans, either.

Was Dindu Nuffins and their girlfriends. It is every time. Poor black yoots from a certain subset of the black race, Hip hop and welfare.

Face facts, deal with it.

From comments about this incident on another site:

"How many sons does Obama have?"

Sunday, December 27, 2015

I'd like to see the video

Of the "Brawl" that this story covers. Oddly, over 1500 "yoots" fighting, yet not a single picture of even one of them........

I'd like to know the demographic of the "youths" and I'd like to know how much was stolen while people were paying attention to the "brawls".

'Twas bad enough to shut down an entire mall, yet....

"No arrests were made"....

"to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited"

Tar and Feathers:

Or , IMO, hanging for treason (after a good trial).

Read HERE.

(Similar to the New York ban, only without all the mistakes)

Here is the person who out his name on it. (I think he needs to be horsewhipped before the tar and feathers....)

I wish

all of you a merry Christmas.

May you spend it with people you love.

Remember the reason we give gifts.

If you aren't Christian, or do not celebrate Christmas, then take the wish of Merry Christmas in the way it was intended.

I'm out, gonna spend Christmas with my family.

Very very true....! I also feel that the current president so someone to be ashamed of.

Read

I further am ashamed that a majority of my fellow countrymen voted for him AGAIN, to a second term.

(Admittedly, the opponents to Barry O were....less than electable, but still....)

More islamic attacks in France, if on a smaller scale

Seems that folks in France have a LOT to fear from Islamic people...and not just recent asylum seekers.

Of course, both of them had "psychological issues".....but I don't think it matters to their victims who were run down by a man shoulting "Aloha Snackbar" "Allah Ackbar"....

21 Dec, 1988

Another in the long list of terrorist incidents by the Religion of Peace.

This one over Lockerbie, Scotland.

Pan-Am Flight 103.  243 passengers. 16 crew. 11 folks on the ground.

I knew a dude who lost his dad on that flight. I met him long afterwards....Worked with him for a time.

He isn't right to this day.

Remember. Say a prayer for the victims. The family members too. They have to live with the aftermath.

How many of those M&Ms are you willing to eat, again?

Sunday, December 20, 2015

It is a good thing they are wrong:

Did the last of the Christmas shopping today (Saturday)....

It is a good thing that I (a legal Concealed Carry license holder and owner of many firearms**) am NOT the psychotic, bloodthirsty, maniacal murdering person the anti-gun people say I am......

Or the carnage when mingling with the rude, stupid, apparently psychotic and uncaring Christmas shoppers (and those driving to and from their Christmas errands) would have been incredible and spectacular. ....You'd be reading it on CNN right now.

But I am not, and you aren't.

**(I actually lost all but 3 in a tragic canoe accident just last week)

Saturday, December 19, 2015

An example of why your vote matters not at all:

The 2000 + page "Omnibus Spending Bill" funds nearly everything the GOP promised to stop...

and doesn't fund anything they did promise to fix.

It basically gives Barry O and the DNC what they want.

And, of course, fucks you, the middle class taxpayer/working guy. right hard in the ass, no dinner, no romance, no lube.

The GOP is aiding and abetting the rape of America "fundamental Transformation of America" by Barry and the DNC, with Paul Ryan helping.

He should be hung for his betrayal of his supporters. Beaten for the breaking of the promises he made to his constituents.  Tossed out of office for his lies and betrayal. For starters.

No idea of the carnage

I mean, forget that such action would be precedent setting, and would, really, destroy the US, by destroying the foundation of this country....

READ THIS At the end of the day, it'd be hard to get 10%. And many of those folks who stockpile ammo aren't looking for a war, but they can bring one if that is what it takes. Yeah, we are all fat and out of shape, but there are a LOT of us. And we (some of us at least) can shoot. Well. Some very well. Rifle or pistol. I ain't the best, by any stretch.....but I am pretty good. Lots better than me.

And yes, I AM willing to fight for my freedoms..

The cops may be "Trained Professionals" but they aren't up to this task. And I strongly doubt the National Guard would do much besides refuse to follow those orders.

These fools have dreams, but they have no concept of reality. They judge us from what they see of themselves. They aren't willing to get their hands dirty(but are willing to pay others to do it)......We are willing to get our hands dirty.

I'd hate to see our country destroyed by people like this.

Monday, December 14, 2015

Since things have a higher chance of getting sporty....

I ordered a laser grip for my small pocket pistol....Lipstick on a  pig, you say? Maybe.....But yet:

Sadly, some places I go to, I just can't carry that Para-Ordnance LDA 3" .45 with great big 3 dot tritium sights and a spare magazine. Just doesn't work.

And yes, I do believe that if you are gonna carry a gun, if possible it should be in a caliber that starts with "4" and all that (not that I'd feel undergunned with modern 9mm rounds)....But still....

And, of course, if I knew I was gonna need a gun, I'd not go there at all, or if I had no choice, I'd carry a rifle or a decent shotgun.

Most of the time, I'd prefer to open carry a .357 revolver or a full size 1911 in a decent retention holster... (I actually have a most excellent 1911 drop leg holster made by Michael Hast for me a few years ago, but where I live it makes people nervous...so I don't wear it out much...)

So I carry concealed and as big a gun as my destination and activities allow....Either a short 1911 or a .32 Beretta Tomcat.

Laugh if you want. I haven't found a decent 9 mm that is significantly smaller and more concealable  than that 3"Para that I can shoot well. There are many 9mm pistols that I like, but not small enough to make the difference in concealability.....Not and have a decent enough trigger or grip (Or be safe enough) that I can shoot 'em well enough to want to use other than except in a last chance situation. Same same with the small .380's. Not much gun, poor triggers or worse grip ergonomics.  First shot ok,...maybe. Second shot likely low (or, oddly, for the LCP, high and right)... Then there is the whole 'No safety except on the trigger" trend in modern striker fired handguns.....I'm old school. I like either a really long DA trigger pull or a safety other than the one on the bang switch trigger of a Glock or M&P...

So sometimes I carry a Beretta Tomcat in .32. (wish they made one in .380!) I can hit what I aim at with the thing consistently, it carries well, and the sights are as good as any pocket pistol out there, if not better than most. Not target sights by any means, but significantly better than the sights on my TCP or my LCP or my LC9.

Yes, I know, .32 doesn't begin with "4" and all that. Having said that, modern ammo has come a long way. And the .32 all steel framed gun is a hell of a lot heavier and more controllable than those fantastic plastic (and very very slim) .380's or 9mm's. I can shoot it, and shoot it well. The Gold Dots that I feed it are a hell of a lot more effective than the original ball....

And remember, that .32 ACP in my belt beats your .45 in your car or that .357 in your home in your nightstand.... When I need it. If I ever do.

Having said that, I felt that since ISIS and the other radical Jihadi  Aloha Snackbar types  are increasing their activity worldwide, it might be that I would need all the help I could get with the short sight radius of the Tomcat.....

Do I bought a set of Crimson Trace Lasergrips for that diminutive Beretta...

(Now I gotta get another holster, 'cause the grips don't git well in the Stoner Holster that I currently have)....But the grips work well, and that laser is fairly bright. Indoors, it'll help. Outdoors, at reasonable distances, it will be better than the sights that are on the gun.

I figure we are all going to need every advantage with a pistol, especially a conceal;able one, if we are gonna ever have to go up against Johnny Jihad with and AK or an AR......Not likely to happen, but a lot more likely than when I first began carrying a gun 30 years ago...then it was more likely to be an "Urban Yoot" intent on evening the score for all the discrimination his grandaddy endured......

Gun show today

Saw a LOT of AR's for sale.

And AK's too.

All at approx 2.5 times what they had been for sale 2 weeks ago.

Capitalism at work. I support that concept strongly

I also saw VERY few buyers.

Market forces at work. Offsets the greedy capitalists and all that.

Balance will, ultimately, be found.

Lucky for me, ammo had not been particularly affected, except for 5.56X45. 7.62 x39 and 7.62X51....and, of course, their civilian counterparts.

I bought .32 ACP....Which has never been cheap, but wan't crazy expensive.

“hasn’t blown anything up yet.”

Yep, we, as a country, both need and want immigrants.

But, as Ann Coulter says:

"We want remarkable Americans, not immigrants whose selling point is: “hasn’t blown anything up yet.” What’s the upside of admitting 250,000 poor, culturally backward, non-English-speaking Muslims every year? When are we allowed to talk about what’s good for America?"

Maybe it was in the apartment.....

Since yer looking for that special hard drive in a lake , has it occurred to you that  it might have been in that apartment you chose not to secure?

Or is this just an attempt to make sure that everyone gets a part of the overtime from the investigation?

This cold is kikkin my ass

What I wouldn't give for a couple of old recipe Dristan or Contac.

Damned meth cookers. Ruined it for the rest of us....

So the Feds banned cold medicine in any quantity,,,Now ya gotta show an ID to buy more than 4 or something........and, as far as I can tell, it didn't impact the supply of meth one tiny bit. Did inconvenience the rest of us though....

Sound familiar?

Rumor has it that Barry is gonna Do Something About Guns via executive order. Bet it works as well as cold medicine limits....

Sad that they can't see the cause:

White House:

"Tragic" that Americans buy more guns after mass shootings...

Maybe if you didn't always Dance in the Blood use these incidents as an excuse to try and remove our freedoms, we wouldn't.

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Food for thought:

When was the last time you went to the range?  Did more there than stand and punch holes in paper at a set distance?

Now, the chances of any of my readers (or me) ever having to face a Jihadi in our normal daily travels is remote.

Same Same ever having to defend ourselves with a firearm.....unless we are stupid and go looking for trouble.

But "remote" is NOT ZERO.

It would appear that the chances of meeting a Jihadi on American soil are, in fact, slightly increasing. (when I was born in was very close to zero. I would say that since the mid 60's it has, in fact doubled about every 5 years)..

The chances are still not high.....

But consider this, If and When:

IMG_0128

Also: Who is more committed...Him, or you? He is likely better equipped, but that only goes so far...

Image stolen from WRSA

Next time someone says they aren't coming for your guns...

Or your ammunition, let 'em read this.

This is the editorial from the New York Times...arguably one of the most widely read and influential newspapers in the world.

Certain kinds of weapons, like the slightly modified combat rifles used in California, and         certain kinds of ammunition, must be outlawed for civilian ownership. It is possible to            define those guns in a clear and effective way and, yes, it would require Americans who          own those kinds of weapons to give them up for the good of their fellow citizens.

we're number 15!

14 guns per 1000 residents. Lower than I had thought, but we have all those "Blue" metro areas (where most guns are in the hand of Obama's sons, and likely not counted) and a significant number of other Blue enclaves where the resident would pee themselves if they ever saw a firearm not on the belt of a Policeman...

Where does your state stand?

Nice to see someone else notice it

Like I said HERE, until we cause the Gulf States to stop funding terrorism and extremism, this is only gonna get worse....

Others agree:

Until Saudi Arabia is forcefully and directly confronted over its international financing of extremism, events like Paris and San Bernardino will continue and multiply.

I think a surtax on Gulf oil will work. They are already hurting from the nearly 7 year low price of crude.... add a 20% tariff to that and they will have no choice but to cut the funding.

Why won't the Presidents (and this goes back nearly to Reagan) do something to end this?

And I think that my suggestion to treat the bodies of terrorists carefully will help too....

We must DOOOO something

I mean, all these murders!

We must do something to reduce them....

Yeah,

Watch this

If it doesn't move ya, I never want to ever meet you, or even cross shadows or paths.

An interesting Proposal:

Remember this shooting?

Dude killed 9 decent churchgoing people.

It resulted in the hue and cry to remove the Confederate flag from many places...Just because the little asshole who perpetrated those murders had one on his wall...

So now we have the San Bernardino shooters....

Muslims. ISIL sympathizers..

Can we ban all Arabic flags? Open displays of the Koran?

Will local bookstores and Amazon and other retailers stop selling the Holy Book? Halal meats?

Stop laughing...one is as logical as the other.....All are, it appears to me, symbols of hate....

Seriously.
.

The attorneys need an asswhoopin'

Read THIS.

Think about it. You attempt armed robbery. You knock one person at the store unconscious.

The other person shoots at you in self defense.

You shoot back, and kill the second person.

Then you claim self defense?

The attorneys who are representing the robber should be beaten and run out of town on a rail. Maybe ta and feathers....

Staked out over an anthill..

I dunno. This still ain't right.

I guess that is why many people leave no speaking witnesses....

I'm thinking wrapped in pigskin

and buried under the entrails of 10 pigs, each one of 'em.

Probably deep under  a pigsty, just to be sure.

France puzzles over what to do with Paris attackers' bodies

It'd be a lesson for the rest.

And, when you publicized that fact, would be a deterrent to other would be psychotic jihadis. Do terrorism in France...kill our citizens, and we will defile your remains for all time.

This is no drill

74 years ago, the Japanese opened the ball....

over 2000 sailors were killed, over a thousand wounded...

Remember.

Yes, the layout changed

Something was fucked up wrong with the old template and it wouldn't work, or even let me in to edit it..

SO for now, we got this...

I will tweak it better as soon as I have the time and energy.

So lemme see if I got this straight:

Because some people used some weapons in a manner that is illegal, everyone who owns such weapons must suffer....

Freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution should be curtailed.

We should use as a litmus test a list that is arbitrary, that is generated by bureaucrats, with essentially zero right of appeal (and no notification that you are even ON the list).... and no right to face your accuser or a trial or Due Process....
A list that the perpetrators of the last two muslim terrorist incidents weren't on....

We need to do something about these Muslim Extremists (who are a small part of Mohammemdisn) who use a twisted interpretation of the Muslim Faith (even though they take the words of the Koran literally).....

We have to fight ISIL, and other extremists......

But Barry failed to suggest that what we really need to do is to cut off the source of funds for these extremists.....which (mostly) come from oil revenues in the Gulf states.....
(We could easily damage those revenues by placing a surtax on all gulf oil....say a 10 or 20 percent sales tariff on oil from those origins.....)

There should be no religious test for immigrants (even though we currently make it easy for Muslims and very, very hard for Christians and Copts, who REALLY are the refugees).....

Oh, and Assault Rifles are BAD.

Did I miss anything?

Trying hard to be relevant

And using all the buzzwords.

"Multiautomatic round Weapons"...."Gunshow loophole".

Yet her ignorance about that which she speaks is profound.....

Almost as bad as this guy...

I couldn't agree more:

I am, of course, already a member. Not because I slavishly agree with the NRA, but because they arer the biggest, if not the best, gun rights organization here is the US. Politicians respect numbers.

The NRA-I joined today

I find it interesting

That the FBI and local police LEFT THE San Bernardino killers DWELLINGS UNGUARDED and (either through incompetence or stupidity) allowed the landlord to show the apartment to reporters....allowing them to wander around and coonfinger the contents. (who knows what was picked up and removed?) Who knows what evidence was destroyed?

It almost seems as if the cops or FBI was allowing the destruction of evidence.....

Friday, December 4, 2015

Y'know, these people need to READ the Constitution

It is "Freedom of", not "freedom FROM".

{It actually says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"}

which clashes with:

A federal judge has banished the Baby Jesus and the Three Wise Men from an Indiana high school’s Christmas musical.
and:
“The living nativity scene impermissibly conveys an endorsement of religion and thus runs afoul of the Establishment Clause,”

Now, I am, actually totally against a State Approved Religion.

But I fail to see how the above equals a SAR.

If the kids wish to do their live Nativity scene, then isn't that "the free exercise thereof"? I would have an objection if the children of, say, a Muslim family were required to participate in any portion of the Christmas pageant  Holiday presentation....But if the children wish to do so, and their parents have no objection, then......what, exactly, is the deal? (We all know it is a Christmas pageant, even if they have renamed it)

Perhaps a statement before the pageant declaring that this is a volunteer presentation and In No Way endorses this religion as a State Approved religion?

Question for liberals

and gun grabbers(but I repeat myself).....

What, exactly, do you want to propose for "Common sense gun laws" that (short of outlawing all firearms and/or confiscation ) would have prevented these jihadi psychos from doing what they did?

They were able to perpetrate their massacre in California, one of the states where gun laws are fairly restrictive.

What, exactly, would more laws have done to stop them from doing what they did?

Please, explain. Be specific.

Thursday, December 3, 2015

Food for thought::

I don't know the reason for the massacre in San Bernadino. Maybe religious, maybe not. Maybe a planned attack, perhaps not. I dunno.

But think of this:

Most of my readers own rifles. Many of us even own "Assault" type rifles....

Most own pistols.

Most of us could leave a "Holiday Party" angry, go home and return with said firearms. (Not that any of us would.)

But how many of us have IED's laying about?

How many of us have the PARTS for IED's laying around?
How many of us could, in less than an hour, come up with 4 such devices?

I mean, I have maybe a half pound (or less) of FFG because I own a flintlock, but I don't have the rest of the makins' for an IED at hand.....much less 4 of them.....I doubt many of the rest of my readers do either.

Strange that. Almost like it was planned....

Religion of Peace? Really?

ETA: 12:45PM. There is THIS as well...."I don't think they just ran home, put on this type of tactical equipment, came back and started shooting"

Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Not that I am complaining...

I mean, here it is, First of December and the daytime highs are in the mid 40's.....

But this warm temperature is, oddly enough, causing me to burn a lot of gas for heating (a lot, at least, for me....)

See, at anything over 25 degrees F outside temp, it is essentially impossible to make a small enough fire in the woodstove to not have the inside of the house over 75....then one has to open a window to cool the house off.....which goes against my grain...

Waste wood? I cut stacked, split stacked, moved and restacked all that wood in the basement. I can't accept wasting it.

So I burn natural gas....

Maine is mean

They want people to use food stamps for.....Food.

How rude. How mean, depriving people of empty calories instead of nutrition.

Unhealthy food is a right!

It is time for much purchasing

and many of you may well do it online. Christmas is coming.

If you buy things via Amazon, PLEASE do so via the links on the left column of my page.

It costs you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, but if you click through that link there on the left and then log in and buy, I earn a small commission. (or click HERE)

Help me feed my guns.

For those of you who do so already, thank you.

The arabs see it....

Why can't the rest of the world see the truth?

These wealthy Gulf nations argue that accepting large numbers of Syrian refugees is a serious threat to the safety of its citizens because terrorists could hide themselves among civilians.

Not to mention that these radical Wahabbis are the direct result of the funding and propaganda campaigns of the same wealthy gulf states.....

I DO think that these people need help....and I really do think that we, as a nation, should help. But not at the cost of our men and women in the military, and not at the cost of our security here in our nation's borders.

Nowhere is there anything written that we have to allow unchecked migration to our country. No one (barrring US citizens), anywhere in the world, has a right to come here and reside in side our borders.

So only some lives

are worth protesting when they are ended:

Here we have two black children:

Both live in Chicago.

One, Tyshawn Lee, a 9 year old boy, killed by a black man who was a rival gang member to his father. (which everyone in the community knew, just waited for the police to make an arrest....)

The other, 17 year old Laquan McDonald killed by a white police officer.

Now, Tyshawn (the 9 year old) was doing nothing, was killed because of who his father was. Shot 7 times. Executed for revenge against his daddy.

Laquan (the 17 year old) was high on PCP, vandalizing cars, and was carrying a knife in his hand when confronted by officers. refused to drop the knife, and was shot 16 times.

Protests for Laquan. Marches and vigils. 'Cause white cop. (and excessive force, perhaps)

No protests for Tyshawn. Black man killed him, so he Don't Matter

Odd that.

The only thing I can figure is that there are racist double standards in the black community. White police officers don't get a pass, but black gang members do....

I hope

That you are celebrating Thanksgiving with people you care about, be that friends, or family or a combination of both. May you continue whatever traditions you have in the comfort of those you love.

Take the time to reflect, and give thanks for what you have. I have much to be thankful for, I hope you do as well.

Raise a glass to those who can't be with friends and family because they are standing a post somewhere less comfortable than where you are.

I will.

Interesting

'twas pointed out to me that the (mostly not black and mostly well educated, not street people) reporters following the (mostly black and mostly not well educated)) protesters of Laquan McDonalds  (he wasn't a choirboy, BTW) death a year ago are surprised by their civility and by their just plain good behavior and politeness.....Much in the way that they are surprised when a scary looking pit bulldog turns out to be a nice, cuddly pet.

Good doggie.

I think it is funny. Sad, but funny.

Except, of course, political donations

So the IRS wants the Social Security Numbers of anyone donating to a Not for Profit organization (501-C-).......

Except, of course for Political action groups that could influence the elections......(Wonder why they exempted those??????)

This is, I feel, an invasion of privacy, as no one needs to know who I support. It could, in fact, be used as retribution against citizens who don't toe the party line, or whose views are not deemed correct by the current administration.

Lois Lerner has already done it, on a small scale, How would you like to have your donation to any non approved cause used to trigger an IRS audit, or other scrutiny?

Contact your Senators, tell 'em to reign in the IRS. Or your contributions to worthwhile causes will, at some point, be used against you.
Plan on it.

Fences work

At least in Turkey:

US working with Turkey to cut off ISIS border smuggling route...

With a fence.

But we can't have on on our southern border because "They won't work".....

Bastards. Lying Cheating Bastards.

Remember this date.....

Sadly, Barry was nowhere near Dallas today....

Interesting viewpoint:

So teaching at another NRA First Steps course I overheard:

"Yeah, last time we let a bunch of muslims in the country in such large numbers that we couldn't keep track of them we had 9-11.......Letting in a half million "refugees" from Syria or wherever sounds like the same thing to me.....".

14 new shooters in the world.  14 "New Shooter Smiles".

Payin' it forward.

Easy shot, it was just sitting there!,

Wow, I gotta say, a .50 cal muzzleloader sure is loud in the frozen food section of the Supermarket though...."

Just luck

that they were caught.

Wonder what they had in mind? Who were they planning on meeting here in the US? What deviltry did they have in mind??? Perhaps they just wanted some freebies....

At least they were smart enough to try and come the easy way.....across the Mexican border.

Never, ever,

Let a crisis go to waste.

EU Commission uses crisis of Paris Terrorist attacks to further tighten private gun ownership laws to keep the citizens safe.

(Full text HERE)

'Cause the terrorists will get their guns legally.....and it is so difficult , apparently, to get a full auto Kalishnikov in Europe....

And we all know Islamic terrorists follow the laws.......Right? Making it illegaler to possess such weapons will help keep those atrocities from happening, right?

"Round up the usual suspects"

So France, in an attempt to shut the stable door after the equine had bolted, apparently raided something like 75 assorted houses and compounds, seeking suspects in the terrorist attacks of Friday. Seems they found a "significant amount" of weapons and explosives.

Gotta  Do Something..., I get that.....More importantly, the police and other authorities gotta be SEEN Doing Something.

But here is the question: If they knew where to look, and had reasonable suspicion to execute a search (and were, apparently correct in their suspicions) then WHY DIDN'T THEY DEAL WITH THE ISSUE of the terrorist safe houses BEFORE the attack?  Why did they wait until AFTER some of their countrymen had been killed and injured? If they were raid worthy on Saturday or Monday, WHY WERENT THEY RAID WORTHY ON THE THURSDAY BEFORE THE ATTACKS?

Did their inaction result in increased casualties and deaths?

Twas true then.....

And I think it shall prove true today.

THE WRATH OF THE AWAKENED SAXON
by Rudyard Kipling

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not suddently bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

The French were a big part of the Crusades.....will they be again?

Pictures of what can happen when the populace is disarmed...

And someone decides to slaughter the sheep...(somewhat graphic, deal with it or don't click the link)

Remember, this is from the "religion of peace".

Not saying that one "good guy with a gun" could have stopped this slaughter....but then again, he (or she) could have possibly cut down on the number of victims...4 men did this atrocity. 1 man with a spare magazine could have suppressed their fire.

Most concert venues here in the US are "Gun free Zones" too.

So the word of the day on CBS

is "Radicalized".

Seems that we can blame whomever "Radicalized" these Frenchmen French Muslims who were part of the terror attack.

Why is it that it is only the Muslims that get "Radicalized"? It isn't the German Lutherans who go all Radical....isn't the Catholics, nor the Protestants nor the Buddists nor the Wicccans nor the Druids ...

What is it about the Muslim faith that lends itself to "Radicalization"?

Yes, I know it is a small percentage of Muslims that "radicalize". What percentage of a population is it acceptable wherein that percentage may go nuts and kill you? If 1% of dogs went nuts every year and attacked and killed people, we would have no dogs in this country....1/2% ? Is that acceptable? Maybe .001% of muslims  Can be Radicalized?? I dunno..

How many is too much of a danger?

Coming soon to a city near you

Yeah, so some folks might consider me racist for the below. I don't care. I don't want to see my fellow citizens slaughtered. And let us all face the truth. When we heard that there were coordinated attacks happening in Paris, we all thought "Followers of Muhammad". We all knew, with near 100% certainty that these were not Buddhists. We knew who it had to be, even if we wouldn't talk about it....

So there are approximately 100,000 "Refugees" coming to the US. HERE are the cities to which they will be distributed.

Not all, I am sure, are terrorists. But Paris though for sure NONE of their refugees would be terrorists either, and yet, some were, and they have at least 150 people dead because of that assumption.

How man of your friends and neighbors are you willing to sacrifice?

Why would we want to bring snakes into our midst?

Wonder how many of these "refugees" are horrified at the deaths of so many infidels? How many of these "refugees" decry the actions of the murderers in Paris?

Paris

I feel sorry for the folks in Paris. My prayers are with the families.  But they were a terribly easy target to attack (again).

Much of the talk last night in the venue where I was socializing was that it could be tried here, but looking at the crowd of 200+, there were (that I know of) at least 30 firearms, and we would be, at least, a much harder target. Hard to do much about Suicide Bombers, but bullets would seem to work well against gunmen.

This is true of nearly every state in the west and midwest (west coast states excluded, of course) and much of the south, but the East coast would be as soft a target as the unarmed French were.

One wonders if these attackers arrived in the recent wave of immigrants. For those who are truly seeking a better life, I hope not......I fear that the borders of the EU are going to close with a bang.

Remember today

"The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound"

Today, 40 years ago, The "witch of November" came early and claimed the ship and crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Interestingly enough, it was a P-3 Orion aircraft that found the wreck 4 days later....

Raise a glass to those that lost their lives 40 years ago.

And sometimes, Justice starts to happen:

These town Marshalls are held under $1,000,000 bail in the shooting death of that 6 year old boy in Louisiana....Charged with second degree Murder.

The father is still in the hospital.

Bodycam video purportedly shows the father, Chris Few, had his hands up when the Marshalls opened fire, killing his son, 6 year old Jeremy Mardis, in his car seat.

If true, then they should be jailed for life. As Murphy points out, cops have a bit more latitude because of their job. The other side of that is that they should be held to a higher standard of behavior and even harsher punishment for wrongdoing....

It will be interesting to see what the investigation brings....But I find it interesting that the State Police arrested them, and the local District Attorney wants no part of this case....

Sooo. I think things are gonna get SPORTY very soon...

Seems reports say Russia has pulled over 12,000 of it's citizens from Egypt in the past day, with another 24,000 to go...

When that is done, expect things to get ...interesting....for the folks that Russia thinks are responsible for the bombing of the civilian airliner...(Cough, ISIS,Cough)

Methinks that there will be a lesson taught, and a retribution paid....And I will give you 3:5 that Russian citizens are not targeted bu ISIS in this or the next generation.

Now if only the folks we have in charge of our countries response will take notes as to how to deal with people who indiscriminately kill our citizens....

Methinks I am not drinking enuff.

If yer a cop, you can get away with shooting someone in the back...sometimes.

Now, the best way not to get shot by a cop is not to run from them, and not present a threat....

Comply with the officer's orders.

Usually that works.

Sometimes not. David Kassick apparently ran and that led, ultimately, to his demise...

I wasn't there, and I didn't see the whole thing and I wasn't on the jury that acquitted Officer Lisa Mearkle of murder.

From the piece of video I saw at THIS link, I don't think I could have acquitted her though.

I saw an officer shoot a man who, at that time, presented no threat. I heard her screaming and her orders were somewhat incoherent.

If that were you or me or any non-police gun owner, we'd have been tried for murder. And would be in prison for murder right now.

I'd like to hear the members of the Jury explain their decision. Perhaps they saw evidence that the rest of us didn't....

Holy shit!

In the last 24 hours, my oak trees shed about 80% of their leaves.

SO where are all the protestors

and the Black Live Matter folks...Where is Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

I don't hear Barry Obama saying "If I had a Son, He'd look a lot like Tayshawn".

Why? Why aren't they here on the South Side of Chicago Protesting and rioting and looting to protest the brutal murder of 9 year old Tayshawn Lee?

Because he was killed on the South Side of Chicago....and because Daddy is a gang banger and he was likely killed in retaliation for something Daddy did...

And we can add to that question why they aren't protesting the killing of aspiring model Kaylin Pryor....a young girl who likely had found a way out of the hood.....Killed in a driveby in Englewood...

Chances are that the only race in these incidences is Black on Black...so the B.L.M. folks ignore it.

I guess only SOME black lives matter.

Range day!

Except it was a day of finishing the project of the burial of the new electric line that started almost 4 months ago. Likely the last decent day we have before spring for such escapades.

8 hours on a backhoe. (a small one).... dig 7 feet, move the tractor, dig 7 feet move the tractor, etc, etc, etc.

Plus since the range was built on filled ground, there are all sorts of treasures that one finds. Metal, stones, bigger stones, oddly shaped bigger stones, more twisted metal pieces, something unidentifiable, then some other shit I don't even want to know (I reburied it)....

The line is installed, and the outdoor range now has power for lights, and (eventually) the air compressor for the target turners that haven't worked in 3+ years....(since last time I fixed 'em....before the power went wonky about 2 + years ago).

I have spent more time at the range not shooting these past 6 months than I have spent shooting.

I also had to give lessons to the others helping:

1.. Only one person can give directions to the guy on the tractor/backhoe. One. Otherwise the operator does nothing.

II..Don't fuck around when giving directions. People get hurt that way.

C...MAKE SURE THE GUY OPERATING THE BACKHOE SEES YOU BEFORE ENTERING THE ARC OF THE BACKHOE SWING. Trust me, it is only 35 HP, but you will lose that battle.

It is still theft

Seems that the cops in New Haven are pre-emptively stealing items from cars and homes, to prove a point.

Theft, however, is still theft.

And a beating for stealing is still a beatdown for stealing. Cop or no, on duty or not.

Interesting....and apparently legal

Seems that enterprising Saudi Arabian dairy farms are buying entire square miles of Arizona desert and are using the acreage (and the wells on those acres) to grow hay for export to farms overseas....

The thing is, they are drying up the aquifers because these areas have no restrictions on the usage of these wells....unlimited water. Which is why they bought those particular farms.

This sort of profligate use of water wells drained the aquifers in their home countries, so now they are moving here...

Good to know....

I bet this gets referred to a lot in the upcoming year.

I may need it myself.

Fred Thompson

Has passed.

I really liked that guy.  Kinda a man's man....married to a hotttie,  was, among other things,a Senator, an attorney, and a film star.

A good Senator too...

He must be taking testosterone shots

I'm talking about RNC chairman Reince Priebus....

Or maybe his testicles have suddenly dropped, after all these years.

I dunno. "The CNBC network is one of your media properties, and its handling of the debate was conducted in bad faith. We understand that NBC does not exercise full editorial control over CNBC’s journalistic approach. However, the network is an arm of your organization, and we need to ensure there is not a repeat performance."

But at least the RNC and the Republican leadership is finally taking a stand.

Now, likely, they will fold when push comes to shove, but this is a start in the right direction...

If the candidates had a clue, they'd either livestream the debates themselves, or agree amongst themselves that if the moderators of the debates handle it like the last ones, they will all walk offstage together if say, 3 of them are ambushed as in the past.....Just all say, "This is bullshit" and walk off.

Mebbe we should try that here:

Starting with General Motors and other "Bailed Out" businesses (like a lot of banks and other financial institutions) that are "too big to fail" where the bail out had cost the government (and thus we taxpayers) money....

Seems that the government in Iceland has not only jailed some major players (26 of 'em, in fact) in their banking industry for their role in the 2008 banking crisis, but is also taking over the assets of the banks involved...and selling them at a profit and distributing those assets to the taxpayers that had to fund their failures. If only we could do that here is the US....or at least hold these CEO's responsible and under the gun until the bailouts have been repaid in full.

Seems to me that it should be the above, or burning at the stake....

For those in Northern Indana

Or willing to travel to Nothern Indiana for a decent collectors gunshow (not much Tupperware nor Evil Black Rifles...but many military rifles and other collectibles) Then be aware that the Nappannee Gunshow is this Saturday.

Apparently, they have rebuilt the exhibit hall that collapsed due to snow last spring.

Find the intersection of Rt 6 and Rt 31. Go east  about 15 miles. Find Tomahawk Trail, turn north...look for the parked buggies and enter the gunshow.

Standard gunshow rules apply.

If you are hungry, the restaurant just south of the gunshow has an excellent breakfast buffet for like $8.00. All you can eat bacon, sassage, biscuits (and gravy!) eggs, pancakes, french toast etc.

Plus all you can eat bacon.

An armed society will ultimately always end up a polite one...

Seems that the Austrians are choosing to arm themselves in defense of their way of life and to protect themselves from the growing threat of the Middle Eastern immigrants flooding their country and terrorizing the Austrian citizens.

Apparently shotguns are nearly sold out. While not the best choice for a defensive weapon, they are legal in Austria, easy to get (require no permit), and better than nothing.

Truth:

Allison McKenzie was in the family apartment in Edinburgh.

The 17 year old was looking in the mirror in the family room one afternoon and wistfully cupping her young small breasts.

"I wish they were bigger like Colleen McDougals" she whispered.

At that very moment, her father Angus McKenzie and her mother, Louise were passing by.

Angus said heartily, "Och aye Lassie, if ya want 'em to grow bigger, take a piece of paper and gently rub it between them. Do this at least one or twice daily. Trust me, they'll grow".

Both Allison and Louise looked at him strangely.

"Aye lassies, trust me, it is a secret every man learns. Once or more daily,...and it'll happen. Some things men learn and women never see, even though it's right in front of  them. Men know such things....Just as women have their lore, so do men."

The two women looked skeptical, but the moment passed and everyone went on about their business that day.

Young Allison, however, did not forget, and she tried Angus's secret cure. Every day, she took a piece of tissue and rubbed it between her breasts, morning and nighttime,

She did this for months.

Again, in the family room, she was examining herself critically, "Father, she said, I don't think your "secret" worked. Me breasts haven't gotten any bigger. Not one tiny bit. I'm thinkin' that you said that just to make me feel better. Or perhaps you were lyin'"

Angus looked up from where he and Louise were watching the telly at the other end of the room.

"Strange, it worked so well on yer Mother's arse...."

Angus will be buried in Edinburgh cemetery on Thursday....

Government paycheck=Get out of jail free card

Especially when the lawbreaking is approved at the highest levels of government....Like maybe Barry O and his associates...

Dept Of Justice will not bring charges against IRS officials who improperly targeted Conservative Groups.

"The probe found "substantial evidence of mismanagement, poor judgment and institutional inertia leading to the belief by many tax-exempt applicants that the IRS targeted them based on their political viewpoints. But poor management is not a crime," Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik said in the letter."

If not a crime, then "Poor Management" should be grounds for dismissal at the very least.

But nothing will happen, at least not with the DOJ controlled by Barry O...

I should be going to a gunshow

Seein' as how the Indy 1500 is this weekend.

But I don't have the bucks to get what I want, and it likely wouldn't be available there anyway ..

And my gun budget will be tight for the next few months...

and, to tell the truth, I am not that motivated anyway...

Maybe next time.

Thursday, October 22, 2015

well, shit.

So yesterday was the day I did maintenance on the tractor. 200  hour interval oil change,....Simple, right?

Drain oil,
replace drain plugs (there are two on this tractor)
unscrew old filter cartridge,
put new oil filter cartridge on
add oil,

All accomplished yesterday. Simple. 25 minutes, and that long only because the oil takes forever to drain from the tiny drain hole.

I used the tractor to haul several things yesterday, after the oil change. no issues. All chores accomplished at low throttle setting (say 1500 RPM). That is important to the story, so pay attention.

Today, I went to push some partly rotten railroad ties out of their depressions in the ground preparatory to replacing them with new timbers.

Had to rev the tractor up a bit to push and lift at the same time. Closer to three thousand RPM.

First tie went fine.It rolled out of the ground and all was good. Repositioned the tractor over about 8 feet and pushed on the second tie. Odd gurgling sounds came from the front of the tractor. I looked and saw engine oil spraying from around the oil filter.

Shut the tractor off most ricky-tic. Don't think I hurt the engine.

Pull the side panel off and yep, there is oil dripping from the mess where it had sprayed from the point where the filter meets the engine block.

Go and get the filter wrench and figured I would give it a turn or two.....maybe I didn't get it tight enough (this engine needs the filter hand tight plus 2 turns). The filter was tight, but as I tightened it some more it felt....funny.

Decided to take the filter off to see what is what.

The gasket had split... no longer a round shaped flat gasket, it was instead a single long piece....

Maybe I wrinkled it when I put it on, but I don't think so. I had oiled it when I replaced the filter, and had screwed it on hand tight before getting the filter wrench on it.

Pull dipstick. Bone dry.

Now, the tractor is sitting across the driveway. Blocking everything from coming or going.
And I don't have any extra 10W-40 motor oil.
Shit.
And no spare filter. Shit Shit

I do have the old oil, but God Himself only knows what contaminants are in the bottom of the oil drain pan. Don't wanna use that.

I do have about 2 quarts of 0W-20 for the Prius, and about a quart and a half of 15W-40 for the truck. (I don't stock a lot of oil, as my vehicles don't use any at all...yet) Cool, thats enough to get me out of the driveway at idle, at least.

So I root around in the garbage for the old oil filter and use that gasket to replace the brand new (but damaged) filter gasket on the new filter.

So now I gotta go and get the right oil. Off to the auto parts store for 7 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Another $40 I gotta spend, but hey...

On the way home, I stop and pick up the high pressure trans oil filter from the Kubota dealer(used to be a Kubota only part, and they know it $$$. They were out on Monday when I stopped to get one, but promised that they would have one on Wed or Thursday.

Dude hands me the filter, which looked wrong to me. I questioned him and he said "New design, looks different, but it IS the right filter".

Should a gone with my gut and pushed it, but I didn't.

Get back home, change the oil a second time and then pull the old trans filter off. This requires a hammer and a punch to get it to turn (and tighten also). Hammer the old filter off, and the new filter isn't the right one...won't even thread.

I'm not that upset. We all make mistakes. Not happy, but not mad.

So I change my shirt, get my wallet and keys, and put the "new" filter back in the box after wiping my oily handprints off of it,  put old filter in a plastic bag and go back to the Kubota dealer.

Dude (different dude) at the counter says "How can I help you?" I explain my issue. "That isn't the right filter" he says, looking at the two. (duh)

So he looks up the old filter number and pulls a new one off the shelf...which looks exactly like the filter I brought in just off the tractor....Which is what I asked for originally, on the first trip..

"That'll be $74.68 he says.

"Cool. What about this filter, which cost $$54 and change? I ask as I push it across the counter to him

"No returns once the plastic is open." he says

"Hey, your guy sold me the wrong filter!" I pointed out. "I even questioned him about it...you were working with another customer when I was in here the first time....you had to have heard"

"I can give you credit if you have a receipt" he states.

"I don't. But I can go home and get it. ...But if I do that then one of you is gonna eat it when I get back"  I stated.

"I can make an exception today" he smiled "But I am gonna have to charge you a 20% restocking fee"

"No". I stated flatly. "Not a chance...Call the police"

"What?"

"Call. The. Police"

"Why?"

"Might as well get them on the way."..I smiled at him..."We are gonna need 'em ...either you or me is gonna go to jail today"

"Um... lemme see what I can do.,..."

So it ended up the difference was $20.18...I paid it gladly. Next time I will buy my WIX equivalent filters through Amazon. Cheaper and easier...Had I known that WIX is now making a replacement I wouldn't have bothered to go to the dealer...and the WIX filter is cheaper too.

At least it was the right filter this time.

I didn't get a whole lot done today.

Diversity, no matter what

So it would seem that some administrator at a middle school in California (where else? I think that California government is a stain on the American landscape and often wonder if the country would be better off if we fenced the California border off and let them be their own country) felt that she had to have Diversity in the student government at all costs....So she (chose to attempt to void the elections, which elected Asians, Whites, and mixed race students...and no Black or Latino students or "English Learners"....

Is there any wonder that the education system is so fucked up? These are the people that are school administrators..And she will probably keep her job, desite sendiung a bad message to the children under her care.

A good feeling

Today, for the first time in nearly 20 years, I was able to fully concentrate upon a task of my own choosing.

No worries about having someone from my business call me for advice or help or a crisis.

No one needing an answer to a stupid question.

In fact, I left my phone where it couldn't hear it and just dug a trench with the backhoe...I didn't even check the damned thing. I SO wish that I had been allowed to sell out about 8 years ago. I'd be in better health and in a better frame of mind.

But the road back started today.

It was good.

Darwin

SO some kid gets pulled over....maybe a good stop, maybe not. Pulled over for flashing the cop top point out his brights were on?

But when he gets smart with the officer, AND THEN FIGHTS WITH THE OFFICER, he ends up shot. Ventilated 7 times. (after being tazed and other attempts to subdue him, mind you).

Watch the video. The family is making a big deal out of this, filing a wrongful death suit...I think the cop was in the right.

As Murph points out so often, sometimes you are better to comply and file a complaint later. Sadly, this was one of those times.

Idiocy

I find it amusing when (generally) women do something "symbolic" in support of something...

Say, they all wear pink for Breast Cancer (how, exactly, does that help?) or everyone in an office wears blue to support a comrade who is in the hospital (this does, what, to help?)...

But this from Legal insurrection about a campaign by 4Chan shows the idiocy in an extreme...shows how some people will follow a movement no matter how idiotic it may be...Especially Feminists. Because Patriarchy...Because Rape.... Urine Helps....

I think I spent half the time realizing that there was no heater firmly ensconsed on my belt and the other half castigating myself  because, intellectually, I knew that I had left my daily carry at home, but it just felt wrong and I kept coming up in a panic thinking "Shit, my carry piece fell off my belt".

Christ, I hate that feeling.

Yep. That about covers that

Bob Lonsberry nails the issue.

He was right then, and he is right today.

TWO AMERICAS
The Democrats are right, there are two Americas.

The America that works, and the America that doesn’t. The America that contributes, and the America that doesn’t.

It’s not the haves and the have nots, it’s the dos and the don’ts. Some people do their duty as Americans, to obey the law and support themselves and contribute to society, and others don’t.

That’s the divide in America.

It’s not about income inequality, it’s about civic irresponsibility. It’s about a political party that preaches hatred, greed and victimization in order to win elective office. It’s about a political party that loves power more than it loves its country.

That’s not invective, that’s truth.

And it’s about time someone said it.

The politics of envy was on proud display last week as the president said he would pledge the rest of his term to fighting “income inequality.” He notes that some people make more than other people, that some people have higher incomes than others, and he says that’s not just.

It was the rationale of thievery.

The other guy has it, you want it, Obama will take it for you.

Vote Democrat.

It is the electoral philosophy that gave us Detroit. It is the electoral philosophy that is destroying America.

And it conceals a fundamental deviation from American values and common sense. It ends up not being a benefit to the people who support it, but a betrayal. The Democrats have not empowered their followers, they have enslaved them – in a culture of dependence and entitlement, of victimhood and anger instead of ability and hope.

The president’s premise – that you reduce income inequality by debasing the successful – seeks to ignore and cheat the law of choices and consequences. It seeks to deny the successful the consequences of their choices and spare the unsuccessful the consequences of their choices.

Because, by and large, the variability in society is a result of different choices leading to different consequences. Those who choose wisely and responsibly have a far greater likelihood of success, while those who choose foolishly and irresponsibly have a far greater likelihood of failure.

And success and failure can manifest themselves in personal and family income.

You choose to drop out of high school or to skip college and you are apt to have a different outcome than someone who gets a diploma and pushes on with purposeful education. You have your children out of wedlock and life is apt to take one course, you have them in wedlock and life is apt to take another course.

Most often in life our destination is determined by the course we take.

My doctor, for example, makes far more than I do. There is significant income inequality between us. Our lives have had an inequality of outcome. But, our lives also have had an inequality of effort. Whereas my doctor went to college and then gave the flower of his young adulthood to medical school and residency, I got a job in a restaurant. He made a choice, I made a choice. And our choices led us to different outcomes.

His outcome pays a lot better than mine.

Does that mean he cheated and Barack Obama needs to take away his wealth?

No, it means we are both free men.

And in a free society, free choices will lead to different outcomes.

It is not inequality Barack Obama will take away, it is freedom.

The freedom to succeed, and the freedom to fail. And there is no true option for success if there is no true option for failure.

The pursuit of happiness means a whole lot less when you face the punitive hand of government if your pursuit brings you more happiness than the other guy.

Even if the other guy sat on his arse and did nothing.

Even if the other guy made a lifetime’s worth of asinine and shortsighted decisions.

Barack Obama and the Democrats preach equality of outcome as a right, while completely ignoring inequality of effort. The simple Law of the Harvest – as ye sow, so shall ye reap – is sometimes applied as, “The harder you work, the more you get.”

The progressive movement would turn that upside down.

Those who achieve are to be punished as enemies of society and those who fail are to be rewarded as wards of society. Entitlement has replaced effort as the key to upward mobility in American society.

Or at least it has if Barack Obama gets his way.

He seeks a lowest common denominator society in which the government besieges the successful and productive and fosters equality through mediocrity.

He and his party speak of two Americas.

And their grip on power is based on using the votes of one to sap the productivity of the other.

America is not divided by the differences in our outcomes, it is divided by the differences in our efforts. And by the false philosophy that says one man’s success comes about unavoidably as the result of another man’s victimization.

What the president offered was not a solution, but a separatism. He fomented division and strife, he pitted one set of Americans against another.

For his own political benefit.

That’s what progressives offer. Marxist class warfare wrapped up with a bow.

Two Americas, coming closer each day to proving the truth to Lincoln’s maxim that a house divided against itself cannot stand.

contrasts

In Mecca, during the Haj, 650+  people we trampled in a "stampede".

The Pope visits and tens of thousands of Catholics flock to see him, and no one is trampled.

Odd, that...Wonder why?

Perhaps because there aren't as many trying...

Viola Davis isn't a graceful winner

Her statement: "The only thing that separates women of color from everyone else is opportunity," Davis said in her acceptance speech. "You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there." is perhaps true...

But then again, Black people are less than 25% of the population...and I strongly doubt that that many bother to ;earn how to act, or even try to be actresses. And of that very low number, how many can actually, you know, act? How many have the talent (developed by training or not) to become Emmy award winning actresses...or can produce an Emmy award wirthy role?

Much like the fact that few black men and women choose to become olympic swimmers....the pool (pardon the pun) of olympic swimmers of any race is small enough....add in the fact the even fewer black people choose to give that level of effort, and you have nearly zero olympic quality swimmers who have more melanin that I do.

Stem fields....Few enough women choose to become engineers. Fewer yet for black (and Hispanic) women. Are they underrepresented in all of these fields of endeavor? Yes. Is it because of a lack of opportunity? Doubtful; Maybe a lack of motivation, or maybe a cultural issue that prevents them from choosing to take that path, but, really, I doubt that it is a lack of opportunity as much as a lack of people trying for those  WHO ACTUALLY HAVE TALENT TO SUCCEED....

Yeah, I know, pointing this out makes me a racist....
