so, 4 years ago, and 8 years ago respectively.....
How many universities and colleges had counseling resources for those folks bothered by the fact that we had somehow elected a liberal man who was raised as a muslim to the highest office in the land? How many places of higher education cancelled classes the day after...and provided resources for those students who were disturbed by the idea of Barry being President?
yeah, I thought so.
How many conservatives cried? Had the Vapors? How many actually needed counselling?
Yeah....those were the ones who rioted too, back then, I bet.

Prolly never held one is his hands....
So some whiny liberal CEO from San Diego (That is in Kalifornia, if you voted for Hillary) has threatened to get "a sniper rifle and perching myself where it counts", also "Find a bedroom in the whitehouse [sic] that suits you motherf---er. I’ll find you".
“I’m going to kill the president Elect,” was one of the posts on Harrigan’s Twitter account. It was followed by the comment, “Bring it secret service.”
Now, I will bet good American dollars (lots of 'em, in fact) that Mr. Harrigan has never held a rifle in his hands....has no idea of the limitations of what a rifle can do....and has no idea how difficult or how much training it takes to make a long distance shot against a human sized target. While I have never actually looked closely, my bet would be that the SS has every approach and angle for at least a thousand yards around the WH covered. I'm not a sniper, but I CAN do about 80% at 800 yards, and I doubt that the Secret Service has left anywhere for me to take a shot. And I practise, and I keep my skillset honed. (Plus, I am led to believe, the windows of the White House are fairly bullet resistant).
For those of you on the Left: It isn't just like you see on the TV. It takes a LOT of training to take a long distance shot. Ranging, ballistics, just learning to hold an effective hold so you don't munge up the shot with shaking, or your breathing, or you heartbeat or muscle quivers. Reality is that you can't just pick up a rifle for $600 and hit someone a half mile away with the first shot out of that rifle. Yer gonna spend a large chunk of scratch to get a rifle capable of that kind of accuracy. (I have one that was built by a man, who sold it to me for much less than what it was worth because he had parkinsons....But it will do the job....if I can do mine). You need a LOT of training and physical conditioning to be able to shoot a rifle that is capable of that kind of shot....YOU have to be capable too. Few people are.... I get a little worse every year. Sniping is for the young, really.
So it is entirely possible that Mr. Harrigan was just spouting off....He lives in Kalifornia, remember. Not so sure he could purchase a "sniper rifle" even if he wanted to......
I hope the Secret Service makes his life hell. He is looking at up to 5 years and as much as a $10K fine.
Why are so many leftists so childish?

Y'know
I am all for these folks who wish to protest Donald Trump's win.
I support their right to do so 100%. If pushed, I'd be willing to fight to protect their right to protest, even against my fellow conservatives.
Having said that, I gotta ask:
What, exactly. do they they think they are gonna accomplish?
Trump is president elect. Hillary isn't. All legal like. Crying won't change that. Nor will pouting.
(Conservatives knew and realized how futile protesting would be 8 and 4 years ago (even though there were significant irregularities) ....we were just as disappointed, but we knew protesting, crying, and whining was, in fact, futile.....so we (mostly) didn't)
Do they think they will change the outcome of the elections if enough protesters show up? That enough Hillary supporters getting together can suddenly elevate their chosen candidate to the office of POTUS?
Or are they just having a childlike tantrum? Showing how immature the supporters of the Left really are? How shallow, childlike and how disconnected from reality they are?

Too late, my friend
People see your organization for what it is.
You squandered your reputation. It is now worth nearly nothing.
No one believes the "news" you write and publish. Your Bias was overwhelming.
New York Times publisher vows to 'rededicate' paper to reporting honestly
Hell, I'd believe "Pravda" over the NYT.

I heard it was to be Ambassador to Libya.

We oughta let 'em...
After Donald Trump victory, Oregonians submit ballot proposal to secede from the union
We should encourage most of the rest of southern Kalifonia to do the same....and most of western Washington state.
It actually should be a county by county referendum. And we should make those states that want to secede build and maintain a border fence.
Of course, that would mean there would be no Federal support of the leftist enclaves....I doubt that they would survive over time. Too bad...They'd fall into anarchy before Trump is out of office.
The USA would be better off without these folks.

Leadership.....
I felt sorry for the Clinton supporters. Their chosen candidate couldn't even face 'em on election night.
I find that sad, and cowardly, and terribly non leader-like. She owed it to those people. She failed them. Not in losing the election, but in faileing to speak to them afterwards.
Is this really the person they pinned their hopes and dreams upon? Who couldn't even face them and admit defeat and thank them for their service? Is this the person that could have been the leader of this country? Losing with grace and honor is a part of having class. Having the fortitude to admit defeat and to thank those who helped is also a part of having class.
She couldn't do that in the hour of her defeat. It was only the next morning that she made her concession speech. Too late for her supporters then.

Will he resign?
I'm talking about Reinhold Richard "Reince" Priebus of course....I mean, his advice for the prior two elections, as well as this one, has been to fins a cetrist candidate in order to appeal to as many voters as possible...
Which gave us DNC-Lite candidates like McCain and Romney.
His party apparatus this time around supported Jeb Bush and, when he went down, Marco Rubio....Also DNC-Lite candidates.
They were soundly rejected by the members of the Republican Party in the Primaries. The voters chose Trump. The RNC opposed him every step of the way. Wouldn't surprise me if the RNC was part of the nasty stories being circulated about the Donald....
And what happened? Trump WON THE FUCKING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
If Priebus and his ilk don't resign, then the RNC should fire him. He has, again, been proven wrong.
The people want a choice, and, given a chance, they will vote for a conservative (for whatever definition of conservative you wish to use.) Trump may not be my kind of conservative, but he WAS the most conservative candidate.
And he fucking WON. Tore the Establishment up.

Listening to the media ...
"shocking"
"unexpected"
"Incredible surprise".
"Stunning"
They are all shocked by Trump's win. Shocked and surprised.
Shows how disconnected they are from the real folks in this country. I knew it was gonna be close. As I stated previously, I expected it to be closer because of thefraud voting machine errors.

Janet Reno dead at 78.
Unmourned by me.

I gotta find out where she will be buried so I can piss on her grave.

Nothing yet?
So, with 650 thousand emails, the Feds haven't yet found even ONE incriminating item?
Was it all just a bunch of Hoopla?
Or is Comey or Lynch holding 'em back until after the election?
One wonders.

Myself and Midwest Chick had dinner at Old NFO's house:
Guests were:
Old NFO
Phlemmy
LawDog
Peter
Wing and A Whim.
And others.
What a great time.
(Plus OldNFO cooks a mean steak).
Tomorrow: Barbecue is on the menu for dinner, I am told.

Never would have thought they could hang together well enough and long enough to do it.
Wow.

One could assume that he is being placed out of the way so he cannot either testify or give any additional permissions for searches.
If, that is, he doesn't fall down a tragically open elevator shaft on his way to the lobotomy room during treatment.

Am about halfway through Michael Williamson't new book "Angel Eyes".
Yah, another pager turner here. Hadda put it down and turn off the Kindle so I could get some work done, and to save some for the trip.

This would be funny, if it weren't so serious....

Seriously, refrain from gassy foods before laser surgery.
Ok, it is funny even so.

Interesting thought:
'Twas pointed out to me that Weiner's behavior is possibly (Probably?) because he has been, for years and years, a "Beard" for Huma. He ain't gettin' any at home, so he goes and looks elsewhere.
Makes sense, really. Especially if the rumors about Huma and Hillary are true.

So, I expect that Ms Clinton will be stepping down then? I mean, having a firearms or flying is one thing, but running for president is another.

Shoulda bought that $900 1911 that Tam was selling. I left to cogitate upon it a bit, and when I returned, someone else had chosen to purchase it .
Oh well. "you snooze, you lose". My Bad.
It WAS a Really Nice firearm though. Worn in, not worn out. Lightly customized. Well cared for.
Damnit.

Classy.
Teaching the next generation how to behave.
Yeah, that'll help 'em later in life. Teach 'em how to interact.
Notice the demographic. Yeah, I'm a racist for pointing it out. I got that. Doesn't change the facts, does it?

Character
So I am on the shuttle bus from the airport to remote parking (which is also, late at night, the rental car shuttle, as the terminals are across the street from each other).
The bus is full, and I am sitting at one end. An older lady is last to enter at the other end, and the doors close.
The young black man sitting in front of her gets up and offers her his seat. She politely decline his offer with thanks, and he sits back down.
As we exit, I catch up to him. Told him that was a nice thing to do.
"That's the way I was raised".
"Yeah, but you did it when NO ONE that knows you was watching."
That, my friends, is one definition of character. He had it. No one else at that end of the bus chose to be gallant. He did. For no gain.
There is hope for the future.
Contrast this with the story 2 below this.

Amish yoots again:
Philly Juvenile Mob beats horse, bus driver, students.

A row all your own
So I fly from Phoenix to Chicago Midway....
Stopover in San Antonio.
The light is full from PHX to SAT.
All but three of us get off in SAT.
The flight attendants tell me that the flight from SAT to MDW is only gonna be about 2/3 full.
I move to the front of the airplane, as I only have carryon luggage and I can get on the road to home quickly that way.
The flight starts boarding. We are nearly done when a HUGE woman comes in the door. Like 5'2" and pushing 350 lbs...she barely fit in the aisle.
Carrying a 6 week old baby in a carrier and two bags...plus a diaper bag.
She stops at my row and asks if she can sit there.
Shit.
"Of course", I say...."It will give us a chance to discuss your child's relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ".
I had the entire row to myself for the flight

I hate the TSA
THis trip, they were (for the TSA) polite and efficient.
Still. I cannot stand them.
And I HATE the fact that I have to disarm. Not so much the firearms (although that is an irritation), but the pocketknife.
It is like I lost a finger, I use a pocketknife so often in my day.....having it gone is a handicap.
And restricting me from carrying it didn't make anyone safer.
(not, that I was disarmed, mind you)

Posted for your consideration.
The following was sent to me by my brother.
You may agree, you may not. But it IS something to think about. I am not a fan of the Donald. I truly wish that there were other choices than the two we have (yes, I could go Third Party, but then I might as well not bother to vote)...The choices we have are the two we have. Neither is good, One is worse than the other. As Tam said to me a month or so ago: You can vote for the New York Democrat, or the New York democrat.

THE ROWBOAT COMES FOR YOU..
This may be the best and most honest political promotion statement you will ever read. It decidedly does not brush objections aside.
You hate Hillary? READ it. You hate Trump? READ it. You think there's no choice? READ it. And, read it with your grown-up hat on.
We've all been dealt huge responsibility with this election. The first step toward accepting responsibility is accepting it, and the first step toward accepting it is recognizing it.READ THIS. Read every single word. It'll take you about three minutes. Be sure to read to the end (take a few minutes and read all of it!)Are you sickened and despondent with the current campaign and upcoming presidential election?
I consider myself a conservative and do truly believe our country is at a political/economic/moral/ social crossroads. I need to let you know I could/would never vote for Hillary Clinton to lead this country. To me, she represents everything that is wrong with our current political structure. On the flip side, I look and listen to Donald Trump and I cringe at every rude, insulting comment he makes. If you find yourself in a similar state of mind, please read the following article:A Message For Christians About Donald TrumpHere's a famous joke about God and how he talks to us."A deeply faithful Christian man is stuck on roof at home with massive flooding up to the 2nd floor. Rowboat comes. He says "No, I'm waiting for God. I prayed and I know he's coming." 2nd Rowboat. "No, I'm waiting for God." 3rd Rowboat. "No, I'm waiting for God."Water rises. The man drowns. Now he's meeting God in heaven. The religious man says, "Where were you God? I prayed. I was faithful. I asked you to save me. Why would you abandon me?"God says, "Hey, I sent you 3 rowboats."
Did you ever consider Trump is our rowboat?Maybe God is trying to tell us something important--that now is not the time for a "nice Christian guy" or a "gentleman" or a typical Republican powder puff. Maybe now is the time for a natural born killer, a ruthless fighter, a warrior. Because right about now we need a miracle, or America is finished. Maybe the rules of gentlemen don't apply here. Maybe a gentleman and "all-around nice Christian" would lead us to slaughter.Or do you want another Mitt Romney, Bob Dole, John McCain, Gerald Ford or Paul Ryan? Did any of them win? Did they lead the GOP to "the promised land?" Did they change the direction of America ? No, because if you don't win, you have no say.Paul Ryan couldn't even deliver his own state, Wisconsin ! And as leader of the House, Paul Ryan rolls over to Obama like my dog rolls over for a scrap of food, or a steak bone. Nice, but obedient. I mean Paul Ryan...not my dog. My dog is actually a pretty good defender and loyal.Maybe God is knocking on your door loudly, but you're not listening. Maybe God understands we need a "war leader" at this moment in time. Maybe God understands if we don't win this election, America is dead. It's over. The greatest nation in world history will be gone. Finished. Kaput. Adios. And with one last breath, maybe what we need to save us at the last second, is someone different. Someone you haven't ever experienced before-- because you weren't raised in rough and tumble New York where nothing good gets accomplished unless you're combative, aggressive, outrageous, on offense at all times, and maybe just a tad arrogant too.Someone with a personality you've never seen on stage at your church. Maybe, just maybe, being a nice gentlemanly Christian would not beat Hillary and her billion dollars, and her best friends in the media who will unleash the dogs of hell upon the GOP nominee.I guess you think God is only nice and gentlemanly. Really? Then you've missed the whole point of the Bible. When necessary, God is pretty tough. When necessary, God strikes with pain, death and destruction. When necessary, God inflicts vengeance.
Maybe you think God couldn't possibly be associated with someone like Trump. Trump is too vicious, rude and crude.
When we won WWII, was God "nice?" Were we gentlemanly when defeating Hitler? Were we gentlemanly when firebombing Germany? Were we gentlemanly when dropping atomic bombs on Japan ? Is God ever "nice" on the battlefield? Or does he send us vicious SOB's like General George S. Patton so the good guys can defeat evil? It's pretty clear to me God sends unique people to be "war leaders." That's a different role than a pastor or church leader. God understands that.
And maybe it's time to re-define "nice." Maybe Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan aren't nice at all--because they led us to defeat. And losing again would mean the end of America . And God can't allow that. Maybe Romney and Ryan mean well, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Or maybe they're just jealous they had their chance and blew it. Maybe they'd rather help elect Hillary than allow a Trump victory that would make them look weak, feckless and incompetent."Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." (Isiah 40:30-31)God is about miracles. We don't need a "nice guy" or a "gentleman" right now. It's the 4th quarter and we're losing 14-0. We need a miracle. So let me repeat my message to Christians: "YOU'RE MISSING THE BOAT."I believe Trump is our miracle. I believe Trump is our rowboat. Except he's more like a battleship! No one is saying Trump is perfect. No one is saying Trump is a perfect conservative. But he is a patriot. He is a warrior. He is a capitalist. He is the right man, at the right time. Yes, he's a bit rude and crude and offensive. But that may make him the perfect warrior to save America , American exceptionalism, capitalism and Judeo-Christian values. The choice should be easy for Christians. It's Trump...or it's the end of the American dream. If anything in this article strikes a positive chord with you, pass it on
Do with this what you will. Agree, disagree, I don't care. But think.

Watching the commercials
For politicians in Chicago (I am in Indiana, but get mostly Chicago over the air stations).
Somehow, questioning the Federal Funding given to Planned Parenthood gets conflated to "Attacking "Womens Health"" and "Denying a woman's "right to choose""...
Whoever does the voice over inn the ads does a nice job., I gotta say that. But the fact that the ad exists ndn is played frequently makes a point about Rush Limbaugh's "low information voter...
I don't have a dog in the hunt, as I live in another state...But I find it educational, in a bizarre way. There are other ads, all of which twist the truth a bit (I actually took the time to check) that also make the point.

Gullibility
Are women really that gullible, that the DNC thinks that it can sway their votes with the accusations they have "trumped up" about Trump?
Are they really that stupid, that they would think that some woman sat on the fact that she was essentially assaulted by a Millionaires, during the 90's, when all a woman had to do was cry to get a settlement, would say nothing for 20+ years...until weeks before a presidential election in which the Millionaire was a candidate....and that there is no collusion when in the same week 8 or more accusations are made?
Or are most women so emotionally distraught and damaged by their experiences with predatory men that they are unable to think with logic and can only react emotionally.....
One wonders. Apparently the DNC thinks they are that stupid and gullible...even those who I might have called intelligent...even if they were misguided liberals.
I find it hard to believe that any woman with an IQ high enough to let them drive and work in any job beyond a McDonald cashier level can believe the accusations against Trump this late in the game....or that the accusations were anything but planned and orchestrated.
Strangely, most of the women I know are smarter than that....whether they like Trump or not.

Prediction:
I predict that approximately one month after President Clinton takes office there will be another mass murder of women and children,,,probably young disabled children by a early 20's white man wielding an assault rifle....
The man, who will have a troubled past, will be on heavy doses of prescription psychoactive drugs. There will, again, be great and disturbing discrepancies in the media/government story about what happened...But the media will gloss over them in their attempt to shock us with the tragedy of all those young deaths.
Immediate calls for the confiscation of "Assault weapons" will happen.
Also a ban on any magazine holding more than 5 rounds because "you don't need any more than that to hunt"....and that would somehow have stopped the murderous perpetrator......But the Meme will be loud and repeated often by the MSM....
Also a tax of $1.00 per round of pistol and rifle ammunition.
When Congress balks, President Clinton will do so by "Executive order"....Congress will stay mute.
Compliance will be less than 15%
From there? Who knows?
You heard it here third...
Buy your firearms and ammo if you haven't (and if you haven't, then you are a fool, and it is gonna cost you) before the elections, 'cause after that, chances are you are won't be able to afford either.

Y'know
Again, I'm not a fan of Trump. I think that there are a LOT of better possible candidates...Just none that got the RNC nod.
Ok, but he was the winner of the Republican Primary. The choice of the people (Republican voters, that is...) Chosen by the voters as the Republican candidate.
Now, back in 2012 and 2008, the RNC wanted us to support THEIR candidate. McCain in 2008 and Romney in 2012...Remember? Put the Party above all else. Vote for the RNC candidate.....Support the Party's choice.....
Many of us did. We held our nose, and voted for the Republican Candidate. Grudging support, but we did it.
And what do we get in return? When the people of the Party chose someone that WASN'T the choice of the RNC leadership (Not that I think it was a GOOD choice, mind you, but it was the choice of the Party members) ?
Yeah, No support for him. Lukewarm at best, damaging words and half-hearted.
And they want OUR support? Our contributions? Our help?
I've not helped, in any way except my vote, for the past two elections. And until they change leadership, change their attitude, change their ways....I won't. Were it not for the fact that I fear a Hillary Presidency, I'd not vote at all. For me, the RNC has destroyed the Party....Or at least the pretense that I was a part of it.
I expect the same sort of loyalty to the members from the RNC that they ask from those same members....and I think that I am not alone in my wishes.
Fuck 'em.

RINO
I don't like Trump (I like Hillary less)... But Ryan has shown, with his dismissal of Trump over some statements made many years ago, that he is not deserving of my support for Speaker.
In fact, since he has to be all PC and such, his fitness for any position is suspect.

Nope. No voter fraud.
you really should watch this, if you haven't seen it.
In Chicago, the dead vote.
Apparently in New York, you just have to show up,
Vote early, vote often, as the saying goes.
One wonders if they would be Democrat controlled, if the real vote were to happen cleanly.
And this is a Democrat ...Commissioner of the board of elections, New York City.

Bummer:
Via Tam, I find that Brock Yates has passed.
I grew up reading his prose, and the magazine he edited...Car and Driver. I learned a lot from those glossy pages, and they opened up a world of dreams(at least half of the dreams, anyway) that most young boys have....Fast cars driven well and to their limits.
Somewhere, I have his autograph, from meeting him at the Indy 500 time trials in the late 80's or early 90's. He was a nice guy to a young geeky man....he had class. Made me feel good about myself. Nobility is another good word.
This world is a lesser place with his passing.

"It doesn't happen in locker rooms"
Bullshit.
These Politically Correctwimps athletes are lying.
Or they are so pussy whipped that they just can't admit it. Either way, I doubt that anyone really believes the meme that the press is pushing.
Apparently I hang out with more manly men than these professional athletes.
We, at least, admit it.
Women are worse when they think they are alone, sometimes, actually.
ETA: If there is a man out there who claims he has NEVER said anything like that, I will call him a liar.

Hypocrisy
Nancy O'Dell Addresses Donald Trump Comments on 'Entertainment Tonight
As she sits there, dressed to the nines, her breasts in a push up bra, hair done to enhance her face, makeup done by a professional to make her look sexy, healthy, and fertile....
She is objectifying herself.
But we aren't supposed to notice or comment.
(I am told that it is 'Competition amongst women". Competition for what? Men?

Sometimes I have hope
That Black and White and Latino and Asian and Middle Eastern people can peacefully coexist...
As Brigid told the Story.....We went to the local Swap -O-Rama in Alsip, Illinois.
There, people, on the surface at least, look past color and race and ethnicity and language...
They speak Cash, see Green, and really only care about making a sale or a deal. No one looks for trouble, and there is none...any that starts is soon squelched. Commerce is king.
I sincerely doubt that many of those folks selling at the Swap O Rama would care to have me live in their neighborhood...(To be fair, some might, some would definitely not, and most are somewhere in between), and I might not care to have all of them move into my neighborhood.....Which is fine.....if we can meet, and interact, and deal in peace and with mutual respect and consideration, then we can coexist.
If people, no matter what their color, race, or ethnicity, will choose to be civilized, and pay attention to the rules of civility and society, then our society will have a chance.
If they won't, then we can't coexist. Period.

Question:
If all those women are upset by Trump's comments.....
Who bought those 80+ million copies of "50 shades of Grey"?
It surely wasn't men, now was it?
(I don't facebook, but a friend showed me where this question was all over facebook....For some reason, it wouldn't copy/paste)

I hope it works this time
So there is apparently going to be another boycott of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
This time, for backing Black Lives Matter.
I dunno. it is because of their support of liberal social change groups that I choose not to buy their products. Other people choose to buy 'em, and that is ok too.
I've never seen a boycott work, at least not in the long term. People have short attention spans.

Truths:
HERE
and HERE
And HERE
Fact is, real men(sometimes) talk to other men about women in ways that aren't always approved by women or the PC liberal WhinePussies. Real women talk about men in ways that we men wouldn't generally approve of either. (Real Men don't care though...we are strong enough to deal with it...I think real women are strong enough to deal with it too)
Also, Trump is rich...he was then, too. Lots of ladies throw themselves at Real Men....more when he is rich. What do they use for bait? Yeop, their bodies and beauty. But that is different, innit?

"you loot, we shoot"
Yeah, it happened for real near Daytona Beach.
Organized by Black Lives Matter, it resulted in 31 (Yep, Thirty One People) dead and others wounded. (I have no idea as to the races of those shot, nor what race the looters were, nor the shopkeepers...I can suspect, but I have no reports)
Hope that there was something worth dying over in those stores...either worth dying to steal, or dying to defend.
'Twasn't white folks who organized this attempt at organized looting. No one is saying the race of the looters......draw your own conclusions (bet they aren't as pale as me).
I wonder what kind of hay the race baiters are gonna try to make out of this?

Where are the resignations?
Or the transfers?
FBI agents are ready to revolt over the cozy Clinton probe
I mean, all these (supposedly) upstanding, morally outraged FBI agents
Yet they still work for the FBI, they still follow orders, none have resigned in protest of the destruction of their once proud institution and reputation.....
And they followed orders, even when they KNEW those orders were immoral, if not illegal.

Y'know...
If you are stuck line trying to buy gas or are bemoaning the fact that there is no water or bread or other food on the shelves at the stores in Florida...(and if you have the time to discuss it with the news media).....
I really don't feel sorry for you.
Anyone with 2 synapses to rub together has known for at least the past 4 days that Hurricane Matthew would be impacting the state of Florida in some manner. At a minimum you were gonna get some high winds and significant rainfall.
The fact that you didn't bother to begin to prepare until 36 hours before the lanndfall, and are now stuck trying to find (nonexistant) supplies that everyone else bought 48 hours ago, and are stuck in a line trying to buy gasoline (either to bug out or for a generator) does not raise any sympathy with me. None.
"Failure to plan is planning to fail"
Now you are likely to take the time for some First Responder or force the county or state to find space in a shelter for your sorry ass.
I'd let you drown or starve. It'd be better for the Human Race.

Very wierd
And creepy...
And, of course, the pussies are wetting themselves....Demanding the police "Do Something"...The police ARE increasing patrols, but not much else. Some parents are all upset, which is what the posters want...
'Clowns' posting threats to schools on social media.
ME? I'd make sure each kid walking to school had a baseball bat, and that they walked in groups. Or (better) accompany MY kid to school...Properly armed.
A couple of beaten, dead "clowns" with smoking holes in them would stop this shit really quickly.
ETA: Apparently this shit is happening in a lot of places?

Discrimination by Color and Race
Can you imagine if some White Fraternity chose to discriminate based on race?
"No Blacks Allowed". Can you hear the screams? The cries of" Racisss" The complaints that this is discrimination?
Yet Columbia University is helping Black Students hold a Black Only (No Whites Allowed) "Leadership Retreat".
Now, I despise the double standard. But more importantly, the University, while a private institution, takes Federal and state money in the form of grants and scholorships...Which means that they cannot and should not help discriminate.
Enough is enough. Discrimination is bad. I agree. But why is it only bad when White people do it? Whites have reason not to want Blacks around. Valid reasons. So, I would assume, do Blacks have reasons not to want Whites around. Valid ones...
But if we, as whites, can't discriminate or exclude based on color or race, then neither can they.
Enough of this shit. Allowing discrimination isn't gonna right any wrongs, perceived or otherwise, that may or may not have occurred in the past. It is only gonna make more of it happen.

White boys matter:
Yeah, how many of us even heard about this"
Boy killed after city marshals shoot at vehicle.
Yeah, dad apparently didn't stop when ordered to...cops chased him....Marshalls let loose and fire 18 shots at the car.
Sadly, they kill his 6 year old Special Needs son in his car seat as well as wound the Dad,...(They claim self defense, that the car was used aggressively against them (but the bodycam shows otherwise)
Last November.....it really happened.
The riots in Louisiana neighborhoods were loud and stopped traffic. The looting was terrible. Stores burned, people were injured, car were overturned.
The Governor considered calling the National Guard out to control things....
Oh, wait, it was a white child that was killed....and a white man that was shot. By black Cops.
There were no riots, there was no looting. White people didn't stop traffic, nor burn down businesses. The National Guard wasn't called.
Instead, they let the Justice system work....and those same cops were tried for murder.
Odd how that works, innit?

Yust FYI:
A test of the National EAS system will (or is SUPPOSED to) occur at 2:20 Eastern...
Since many are at work at that time, if might be worthwhile to see if you notice it.
Just so you will be notified, if and when......(or can arrange for alternate notifications from someone else if you don't notice this test). Might be important someday to know if the EAS system reaches you at work....
That is all.

We'd know.
So the Media can't wait to tell us all that Hillary won the Debate....Handily
I gotta say that I didn't see it that way...
But the one thing I keep thinking is that if she had won the debate "handily", then they wouldn't need to tell us.
We'd already know

But the one thing I keep thinking is that if she had won the debate "handily", then they wouldn't need to tell us.

Y'know....
I am completely against any iteration of "Stop and Frisk".
There is the pesky Fourth Amendment thing....
But why is it that no one will admit, or touch or even just fucking state the obvious:
The police stopped young black men under "Stop and Frisk" disproportionally simply because they got results...
Stopping carloads or groups of white dudes didn't yield the drugs and weapons IN PROPORTION....
Fishermen fish in lakes where the fish are, not in barrels where they aren't.
Willie Sutton, a notorious bank robber in the 30's, 40's and 50's, was reported to have said, when asked "why do you rob banks?"...."Because that is where the money is"
Same same with "Stop and Frisk":
You can see, by their manner, the way they are dressed, etc., be they white or black or hispanic, which individuals are likely to result in a fruitful search. I can, if you are observant, you can, and especially experienced cops can.
If the fact that they choose not to waste their time on clean cut kids of any race offends you...if the fact that there is a higher proportion of clean cut kids that are white (and to a lesser percent, hispanic) and a lower proportion in the inner city black kids offends you...then I am sorry your pollyana viewpoint is hiding reality from you.
Again, I believe that Donald is wrong on 'Stop and Frisk".....
But why won't anyone tell the truth?

Wake
My first thought upon waking was:
"Get this Damned cat off my feet"
But my second one was:
"The Donald didn't really strike at any of the openings Hillary left him."
Followed with "Why didn't he?"
I mean, Computer Security, National Defense (Benghazi?) the "plight" of African-Americans, the failure of the Democrat leadership in cities, the list is long. I mean, her health alone could have taken an entire segment....
And he didn't take any of the openings.....Why Not?
"Get this Damned cat off my feet"
But my second one was:
"The Donald didn't really strike at any of the openings Hillary left him."

So....
Our Second Amendment rights will be in the hands of 2 possible people.
A bad one
And a worse one....
As Tam said to me over lunch a few weeks ago. You have 2 choices:
A New York Democrat,
Or a New York Democrat.
Stop and Frisk?
No Fly list?
Terrorist Watch list?
Any of those statements would disqualify a candidate as President in my book.
So we are left with the choice of the lesser of the two weasels.

Racism
Yeah, that's me...
Helping a friend at a gunshow. He is a dealer, but doesn't have a store. Gunshows only. He has 8 tables, so needs some help to keep an eye out when it gets busy.
His policy is that you have to be 21 to fondle the pistols, 18 for rifles and shotguns...since you have to be that old to purchase them. I can let a father handle a rifle and hand it to his 14 year old son, but if you are a 19 year old man, you can't play with the pistols or revolvers.
So I am discussing the merits of an XD vs Glock with a very nice gentleman, nice guy, mid 40's...wife or girlfriend alongside.... first gun for both of them.
Up walk 2 young men late teens, maybe early 20's. Pick up a SW Shield... I ask politely if they are 21.
"No".
"Then I am sorry, the owner says I can't show you pistols unless you are of age to buy one, so you gotta be 21 to pick 'em up.".
"It's because I am black, ain't it?" (they were both, in fact, black).
The dude and his lady who I had been talking to looked at the kids. Dude says "He told you why...." (Dude himself is also black). "Don't see no Racism here".
Kinda shut the kids down.
He chose and I sold to him the XDS in .40. I also sold 'em on the idea of some NRA Basic Pistol Training.
I appreciated his support, but the kids kinda pissed me off.

Stupid fuckers
I hope it costs them a lot.
What total moronic idiots some folks are.....Do they really not understand how such things work?

Unicorn
So at the gunshow yesterday, I found a gun that I had been looking for:
A Beretta TomCat 3032 in STAINLESS. (I have one in the Matte /parkerized finish, but my sweat eats non stainless guns...I have to clean it twice a week in the summer months, so I was looking for a stainless one)
When they were in production they weren't common. now that production is currently on hold they are kinda hard to find.
Found one in a showcase. If it has been shot, it is less than a box full. like maybe a mag, if that. I think it was a drawer gun.
He wanted $530 which is about what they go for on GunBroker (plus shipping and FFL fees).
I offered $350. He said "no". I walked.
Passed by again (he was at a corner table) and he offered $475. I countered with $375. He said "no". I walked.
Saw him once more about 45 minutes later....he offered $400. I offered $399. He looked at me and smiled and the deal was done.
Private sale. (Which was good because NICS was down most of the afternoon).
Cash talks.

Transparent
Odd.
Seems that the State Department isn't gonna release the "recovered" emails from Hillary's server until after the election.
I doubt it will make any difference....those who are gonna vote for her won't care....and the rest of us won't vote for her no matter what.
But still.

This could be a deal breaker for me:
Third party is is then...
Trump "Praises 'Stop-and-Frisk' Police Tactic".
Sorry, I can't support this. Not at all. The Constitution is what it is....It applies to everyone. scumbag or not...Joe clean or Tyrone the Ghetto Rat.....Whigger wannabe or Jose the Vato. No matter who it is, the Fourth Amendment applies:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The Constitution comes as a package deal. All or nothing.
If Trump can't get that message, then he isn't my man, and won't get my support.

Tonight oughta be "interesting"
If you are in Puerto Rico, at least.
Seems the power generating/distribution company that covers most of Puerto Rico had a MAJOR fault....and a substation caught fire at a substation, leaving the majority of the island without power.
Tonight oughta be interesting for the poor folks living there. I bet it gets....."sporty" in some neighborhoods tonight. And maybe tomorrow night.
As a side note, seems that a small, but significant, number of hotel and other businesses that had generators never balanced them, nor did proper preventative cleaning/maintenance on them....and they caught fire under load....which is a lesson we can ALL learn from.

'tis odd:
See, many years ago, there was this thing they did called "Lynching" wherein a man (apparently often black) was accused of a crime and then, without a trial, often on sketchy evidence, was hanged...often after being beaten by a crowd.
Black people still see a noose as a sign of lynching, and often want nooses removed from Halloween display and such (even though they want free speech and such).
Yet, what do they do when a black man is shot....especially by a policeman (no matter what HIS race).....
Yep, they jump to conclusions....they assume the man shot was innocent, and that the officers had no reason to shoot. Further, they rely on statements posted on social media, with absolutely no verification that the statements are true...Since it is a cop that did the shooting, it must be racial....it must be unjustified.....and they don't wait for the evidence to show what happened, but jump to a conclusion.... Truly, a lynching...only the violence happens later that night....Which often leads to a riot..... "Civil Disobedience"...often becomes an excuse to loot. (and they wonder why no one wants to invest or start businesses in their neighborhoods?)
What I find odd is that it is always black crowds that exhibit such behavior....not whites, not asians nor orientals....no latins, nor any other racial group. Why is that? And why do the police and the city leadership allow it to happen?
Yes, I know, pointing this out makes me a "Raciss". Don't care. Not anymore.
You can't blame it on Poverty either....Lots more white folks live below the poverty line, yet they don't riot....(and they generally obey the police and don't do anything stupid when caught or stopped, and therefore don't get shot as often either...)

Ain't no Gass ....How you gonna get to work, man?
Lots of folks have no backup and are wondering if they will be getting to work tomorrow and through the week...
And this is just ONE pipeline. A big one, and it carries gasoline exclusively, but still. Lots of folks being affected by ONE pipeline.
How much do you stock for happenings like this?
I have enough to last us 3 weeks plus or minus. At normal rates of consumption. Plus the truck...diesel there and I have about 6 weeks or so with that vehicle. And those are without any conservation efforts.
Think about it.

The bombs detonated and/or found in NY, New Jersey and such are "intentional" (duh) but ARE NOT TERRORISM....
Of course they are fucking terrorism, you idiot. Who, exactly, is the terrorist remains open to investigation, but it most definitely was "Terrorism".

I was on my way to work when the first plane hit....... We were gonna get an early start on sealing a parking lot.....try to get some work done before it was too hot.
Surely just a terrible accident...?
Then the second one hit.... and the fires grew...We all watched in terrible fascination on the TV as the towers fell and 3000 or more of our countrymen and women died.
I told the kids watching with me that what they had just witnessed would change the world and our country....and that whether we realized it or not, we were at war....
I was right.
That day changed the way we travel, and gave terrible powers to our government. It took a few months, but the enemies of freedom were waiting, and took advantage of those events to fundamentally change our country.
It showed us the hatred Islam has for the Culture here in the West...in the US in particular. It brought to the forefront that a person cannot be US citizen and a good Muslim.
It gave us the Patriot Act....a lie if ever there was one. It spawned an ever growing Surveillance State...and began conditioning the public to always being watched....and to allowing their freedoms to be temporarily bypassed in the name of "security".
It also made me proud of my countrymen.....we didn't massacre other Arabs...nor chase anyone wearing a hijab or speaking with a Pakistani accent out of town. Yes, life was uncomfortable for those folks for a few days..., but in other places they would have been dead hours after.....Americans held to the American values.....and treated immigrants correctly and with honor.
********************************************
There are still a lot of questions about who was involved in the attacks....yes, we know about Mohammed Atta and his co-conspirators....but were there more? Were the Saudis involved? (Probably.....at least some in the government were) was it a conspiracy with the Bush administration? Maybe (but I doubt it....)
Either way, this attack opened the door to the fundamental changes that we, as a body, accepted in the behavior of our Government to the it's citizens.....
I may, someday, be able to forgive the Saudis or the Muslims for the attack on my country....and my fellow citizens.
I will never be able to forgive them for the changes they wrought in my country.
Ever.
I will never forget that Muslims everywhere cheered the damage done by the attack on my country. I will never forget the silence from the Muslim community here in the US, and I will never forget that the mosques in the US where the 9-11 terrorists worshiped had to know that they were planning something....and stayed silent. I will never forget that the Pakistani (Paahkistaahni? (Obamas pronunciation)) government was complicit in helping Osama Bin Laden hide for years. I may only be one person....But I and many of my countrymen share a remembrance of that day.
You should too.
Never forget.
Ever.

Dick:
Y'know, when you meet a cop on the road, it is a crapshoot as to whether your day will improve or devolve..... depends on whether he will be a good cop or not:
Ferinstance:
So I leave the homestead the other day to go run errands in the late morning......a wonderful bright, sunny day. Upon my return, I see, about a half mile from my driveway (past my driveway),a box trailer sorta katywampus across the road. Being the nosy person that I am, I drive the car down to see what is going on. I stop behind the trailer and turn on my flashers and get out.
I find a young man, 20something, trying to find a way to get the tongue of the trailer off the ground. Apparently, when he hitched it up, he didn't get the fork of the hitch under the ball, and it bounced off the trailer ball (or he didn't latch it) and was now resting on the ground...(good thing he attached those safety chains!). The problem was that the trailer jack was one of those "swing away" types, and there was no way he could lift the tongue of the trailer up enough to get it to flip down. I tried to help him, but it was too heavy for the two of us to lift.
Being the helpful sort that I am, I told him I'd be right back, and to disconnect the remains of the safety chains and damaged wiring and move his truck forward about 30 feet....and I turned the car around and went back home. Went inside and got the key to the Kubota and fired it up. Put a chain in the bucket and drove to where the trailer was. I did turn on my LED strobe to enhance visibility....
Hooked the chain to the tongue of the trailer, put it on the hook on the bucket and lifted....Not.
I'm not sure if he had the trailer loaded wrong, or if his load had crashed forward, but my tractor wouldn't lift the tongue....2400 lbs is what the tractor will pick up with the bucket, and the trailer wasn't budging. So I unhooked the chain and turned the tractor around so I could lift using the three-point hitch on the back (4800 lbs capacity). As I was turning the tractor around and backing up, I see a cop car behind the trailer.
Up walks a county cop. He beckons me off the tractor and is yelling at the kid as I get off. He starts in on youngblood, telling him he is causing a traffic hazard (what, like people haven't been slowing and then going around us?....some even offered to help) and telling him he is gonna get a ticket for blocking the road and when the kid answered him back, he mentioned "disturbing the peace" and something about "Traffic hazard"...
"Hey, brother," I said "if you'll wait about 4 minutes, we can get this thing hooked up and get him off the road, and then you can yell. If you are really worried about safety, why dontya turn on your lights so people will see us sooner? "
He told me his name wasn't "brother" and I could address him as "officer"...and offered to arrest me for "interfering with a police officer" and something else that I don't remember. and a ticket for not having proper safety equipment or something....and demanded my ID. I refused. Firmly.
I actually smiled. "Sure thing, son...Your game, you call the rules...Except you will address me as "Sir" from this point on....Oh, and another thing...(I kinda got in his personal face space here) "Officer":.... "Supervisor" .... Now.... You call one to this location on your radio, or I do it on my phone. And get out of the way.". I climbed onto the tractor. I was shaking, I was so mad.
He stood there, in my way, talking on the radio.
I resisted the urge to move him with the bucket, and waited.
Sure enough, about 5 minutes later, another county car arrived and pulled up behind everyone and another , somewhat older, cop got out (he, at least, turned on his lights). I got off the tractor, and walked up. Young cop tells his story, young man nods and answers a question, then I stated my piece. I asked where county cops get off being dicks and hindering rather than helping or at least staying out of the way...I pointed out that I would have had the whole thing fixed and off the road if young stupid cop had just gotten out of the way as I suggested and I didn't appreciate being talked to and threatened the way I had been. I said I wanted to make a claim for intimidation and threatening. I pointed out that he had been an ass, and had wasted time, if there really had been a danger to the public he had made it last longer.
Old cop, the supervisor, took a look...then he helped me hook up the chains and directed me in lifting the trailer. He himself put the jack down and unhooked the chains. He directed me backwards to hitch to the trailer.. I suggested to the kid that we pull the trailer to my house and we could straighten the hooks enough that they would be safer. ...and legal. (and pointed (loudly) out that if he wasn't legal the first cop was dick enough and would no doubt LOVE to arrest him or at least give a ticket...)
So the Supervisor asked me if I would let him handle the youngasshole cop. I said sure, but this shit has to be dealt with. I didn't appreciate being threatened with arrest for trying to help, and I didn't like his attitude or the fact that he made a simple thing take longer....and he didn't even make the scene safer by turning on his lights.
"Yeah, I can handle him," he said, "or you can make that complaint. But he will like it less if I handle it unofficially....He really is a good officer, he just has bad days sometimes".
I suggested that if he has days like this, over something that is this minor, perhaps he shouldn't be a cop.......Which didn't go over well. But he did promise to counsel the other cop.
So supervisor makes the young cop "escort" me and the kid back to my driveway...for "safety"...on foot! and walk back. In the sun. They stood on the side of the road for about 20 minutes when kid got back to the two cop cars, talking and sometimes waving their arms a bit.
Supervisor shows up at my driveway while I am helping the kid get his chains fixed and the wiring repaired enough to be legal. At my suggestion, the kid opens up the trailer to pull some of the cement bags back from the front. Supervisor and I talk for a few.....I pointed out that isn't normal behavior for a cop, and that young cop has, apparently, authority issues (I did use the phrase "Respec Ma Autoriteh!" which brought a smile,) and maybe anger management issues.
I asked him how someone like that can become a cop? No psychological screening? And perhaps the kid needed to learn the difference between some gangbanger kid he'd pulled over at 2 AM and someone like me in the middle of the day...older and wiser and not someone who can be can be leaned on or threatened... and suggested that the kid cop either learn how to handle people or someone like me was gonna run his ass over or shoot his ass someday....which also didn't go over well. But the point was made. We shook hands and he left. Kid cop was long gone by then.
I dunno. Haven't seen the kid cop since though.
I still wonder if I should have made a complaint though....or at least a report.

So the Supervisor asked me if I would let him handle the young

Readiness checks
So on Labor day (among others), I always take an hour and fire up the Backup Generator...just to lube the internals and make sure it is ready to go when it is needed.
Like a carry gun or a fire extinguisher, you don't need 'em until you really need 'em.
So I take the time to fire it up, make sure the internals are lubed and operated long enough to warm it up and dry it out, and spend a few minutes with an oil can making sure that things that move are lubed with clean oil. Check the air filters for mice and other things which might clog or otherwise hinder the operation. Cooling vents are clear and unobstructed and everything is ready.
All good this time. Ready to go, and it fired up nicely. Should do what I need when I need it.
When was the last time you checked your generator?

Point of view for the week:
"I have been criticized by referring to our federal masked men as “ninja” … Let us reflect upon the fact that a man who covers his face shows reason to be ashamed of what he is doing. A man who takes it upon himself to shed blood while concealing his identity is a revolting perversion of the warrior ethic. It has long been my conviction that a masked man with a gun is a target. I see no reason to change that view."

It's here!
Well, now, you just don't see that every day....
I ordered 2 tri-axles of stone to be delivered today. One for my driveway (which has needed stone for 5 or 6 years, and one for the road I am finishing to my barn. After 16 years, the fill has finally stopped settling, and I am willing to put some stone on it so that I don't have to drive in mud.
So the first load was delivered. at 6:30 AM. I spent about 3 hours carefully spreading it, making sure the drainage was good, and carefully filling in the edges.
The other load wasn't delivered until 4:15 PM.
The driver backed carefully down the lane, and set his chains to tailgate it out along the lane.
He lifted the dump box. Higher. Higher yet. Even higher.....then, at the top of the lift, he jerked the truck forward just slightly to make the stone slide....the whole load slid back. All at once. The truck did a wheelstand. No shit, I could have walked under the front wheels. For a second, I thought the thing was gonna tip over. All the weight was on the passenger side rear wheel.
He ever so gently let the dump box back down. The truck slowly came back to earth. Pretty smooth, actually.
He finished the job, but the stone just wouldn't slide out smoothly. Instead of a smooth road, it's a series of hills. (I'm gonna work the Kubota tomorrow).
He pulled back to level ground and inspected the truck. No damage (except to the driver's seat) and some new handprints on the wheel. Permanent ones....
The spring on the back was....compressed. Enough to have flexed all of the paint and concreted stone off of it.
I've never seen a dump truck with it's wheels that high before. Neither had the driver....
Kinda like this:
Only uphill and on ONE Rear Wheel.
