Inaccurate or not, it's endemic of the fact that so called charities DO NOT pass significant portions of the donations through to the people. Most of the veteran's organizations DO have unpaid officers and the only paid staff is the back office folks; Salvation Arms does pay a bit, but not much. ARC, United Way and the others, LOTS of $$ to go salary...
