Invasion

I wasn't going to post anything today (on the theory that it is best to be silent, and thought of as a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt), but then I came across this:

Linoge has a good point. Click the link, follow his links.

In effect, the US has lost control over a portion of its territory. ANd the powers that be do not seem to care. Perhaps we citizens should?

I mean, we could carpool or something. Spend a week.....Get some range time....

you know. That sort of thing.

It really does disturb me that we have given up our claim to a not-unsubstantial part of America. Sure, we have signed no documents, we have forged no treaties, but when our government is telling our people not to go there, we have given it up.

And we did it without even the semblance of a national fight. I will give the local police force credit - they did the best they could with what they had - but our government? It does not seem to give a flying damn.

Hell, most of the country does not seem to care, and I am willing to wager most of it also considers those signs to be a good thing.

And that scares the hell out of me.

Your idea did occur to me, too... seems the ranchers around that part of the Refuge could make some relatively substantial money providing food and lodging for those interested...
