Interesting perspective:

Three times since the first of the year I have met a new person, and in conversation, when the question of what they do comes up the answer has been:

I work as an auto worker, or as a union steelworker, or a union electrician. Each time I have asked what job they do for the union, but that isn't what they do. They are skilled trades, working for the corporations that pay their salary.

All three are paid by large corporations. Ford, in two instances, and Mittal in the other.

Yet they don't identify as employees of the corporations that pay their salary. They identify as working for the UNION.

Strange.

Interesting mindset.

One I cannot fathom.
