Yeah, lets have that conversation:

I'll let MR. Williams start.

Feel free to rebut in comments.

My Grandfather always said that Welfare would destroy the black people. THis was in the late 70's and early 80's.

He was right, as far as I can see.

Via

And if that makes me a "raciss". then so be it. Decent people of any race won't care. If yer a lowlife, then it doesn't matter what color you are.

If you are a decent person, it won't either.

An ass kicking of epic proportions

Would be the result of this betrayal.

Seriously. You'd never be able to run fast enough or far enough.

And you'd be looking over your shoulder forever, until I found my dog.

Maybe even after that.

A betrayal of this magnitude is.....unthinkable.

I'd like to know names, just so I could kick the betrayer of I ever saw him/her.

There is a special place in hell for folks that would do this.

Pass this on. Maybe it'll help.

4.1 MILLION $

of our (the taxpayers money).

For 4 days in a cell with no food or water.

I don't doubt that he was left, handcuffed, for 4 days with no food nor water.

I don't doubt that he suffered.

I don't doubt that he deserves some settlement.

But why should WE, the taxpayers pay? And that excessive amount?

4.1 Million dollars. I think it is high. But I also think that it should come from the people responsible, not we the taxpayers.

I didn't keep him there...nor did you.

If we are to ay such exorbitant settlements, then our employees, those DEA agents and staff, should be charged.

With attempted murder.
Tried and, when found guilty (if there is enough proof for the settlement, then there should be enough proof to convict them),  sentenced to life.

Their jobs and pensions stripped and applied to the settlement.

And anyone who was in their supervisiry chain should be fired and barred from working a federal job again.

Instead, it is we, the taxpayers,  who foot the bill for the settlement.

I don't know the fate of the agents and staff. But whatever their punishment, it isn't enough.

A momentary lapse of Season

Christ. It was 51 degrees (f) last night and the night before. Not quite a new record low, but close. But the lowest daily high temperature on record...

In July.

The end of July.

Where are the Glowbal Warmening Climate Change folks?...THey should be crying about Global COOLING.

Oh, yeah, if it it cooler than average for a day or two, it is weather....If it is warmer than normal for even a day, it is mankind induced climate change leading to Thermageddon!!!!.

IT did make for a pleasant weekend working outside.

A reading

Thought for the day:

From "The Velveteen Rabbit"

"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

"I suppose you are real?" said the Rabbit. And then he wished he had not said it, for he thought the Skin Horse might be sensitive. But the Skin Horse only smiled.

"The Boy's Uncle made me Real," he said. "That was a great many years ago; but once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always."

You'll either understand, or not.

IF this were you or me, we'd be in jail.

But, being cops, they are excused from wrongdoing.

Police in Fort Worth, Texas, are blaming “poor lighting” after two officers went to the wrong home in search of a possible burglar and ended up shooting a 72-year-old man dead in his garage.

Why?

They should be charged with manslaughter, at a minimum. Second degree murder seems even more appropriate.

But the police (and the union) will defend them. They were just "doing their Job" and they needed to "make sure that they went home safe".

Here's how they'll get the leaders

of the "Opposition"

First they'll get your passwords without you knowing.

Then they'll send illegal material to you and open it using your email password. Or, using your email and password, send something containing an illegal item

If the attachments contained, say, espionage items, government secrets or child porn, you are screwed. Especially if they "originated" from your email.

And you don't have any idea that they are doing it until the authorities kick down your door and arrest you. Yes, I am sure they will have a warrant this time. After all, the proof is right there in your email, and internet history, isn't it?

But the behavior of the "Justice" Department under Eric Holder would not leave such actions unthinkable, now would they?

Think I am crazy? Maybe I am.  But I've been called that before. I could actually be crazy....But I think I am not.

Best thing to do is upgrade your passwords to include both upper and lower case letters and a special symbol, such as !,@,#,$,%,^,&,*,(,) etc.

But if the NSA works at it, they are gonna break your password.

You can, if using Gmail, have them send a secondary login (text)to your phone, but I don't know if this would help against the NSA.

Yeah, I am paranoid (and maybe crazy), but then again, I was paranoid when  I said that the NSA was watching your cell phone and reading your email a few years ago....Wasn't I?

Watch your back. and your email.

Hard to argue with:

I've been pussyfooting around the race issue for a while.

Never could come up with the words to say what I wanted to say.

And, while there are issues with racism and racial bias in this country, there seems to me to be a disconnect.....

This says it well. Read it. Tell me where he is wrong.

There are many advantages for black people, if they are willing to take them. Hiring preferences, scholarship preferences, grants and other incentives that just simply don't exist for the rest of us.

Of course, one of the big barriers to such incentives and advantages is that you cant't be a criminal. Can't have a criminal record. Can't be a drug user. Gotta behave and be a decent person. Might even help if you didn't speak with such an accent that most people cannot understand you.

If that is bias, or racism, then I just don't see how to help.

If your whole lifestyle is based on being a criminal, taking whatever you can get today, and never having a thought for the future....Then you cannot ever elevate yourself in this society. At least not the one which I live in, and which many complain that they are restricted from.

Again: Read this. Pass it on. Tell me where the author is mistaken.

You should read this.

All of this.

think.

As goes Detroit, (with a Democratic Government) so shall go the country with the sme type of government.

(and yes, I expect that we will have at least another 4 years after Obama, as the RNC can't seem to get it's head out of it's ass....)

You got palns for when your neighborhood looks like Detroit? We are heading that way.

Holder on SYG

So Eric Holder thinks that we should cower in fear and run at any threat.

Never defend yourself or your property.

He would perhaps best be served by going to another place, like, perhaps, England, where the people are sheep and evil rules the night and much of the day. Where criminals heve no fear and where decent people are not allowed to defend themselves.

I don't want to live in a place like that....A place where I have to run from bullies and threats. Where retreat is the order of the day.

When the police retreat, the perhaps I will consider it.

When Holders bodyguards stop carrying firearms, and he runs away from every threat (when possible) then I'll consider following Holders advice.

I find it interesting

(And somewhat disingenuous) that the media and the anti gun crowd is seeking to use the Zimmerman trial to dismantle the "Stand Your Ground" laws that 22 states have enacted. The Sunday Morning propaganda news and discussion shows are all featuring it. As re the Papers. (not that there is a plan here).

SYG had no, zero, none, nada bearing on the trial of Zimmerman.

There was no need to use it as a defense.

SYG says that you have no duty to retreat. Period.
It is hard, if not impossible, to retreat when you are being straddled and pinned down while being beaten.

But...."never let a crisis go to waste". So they are conflating Self Defense with Stand Your Ground.

And, sadly, many people are too poorly informed to be bothered to understand the difference.

And the media is, of course, complicit in the confusion.

Ya gotta love it when someone posts something foolish (or mistaken) on their blog, then, when called on it, edits their blog and then says that their point is still valid.

All because they can't be bothered to learn the facts.

Just Sayin'

44 years ago:

The US landed 2 men on the moon. An achievement that culminated a program that employed many men, spend a great deal of money and took many years. It was, and still is, a wonderful achievement.

Today, we have, essentially, no space program. No drive, no funding.

We choose instead to spend our money on welfare and other "social programs".

These programs don't advance human knowledge and intelligence, they undermine it.

They don't push the pinnacle of human achievement, they create lazy fat stupid people.

Because the country chooses to spend its money somewhere else, and its effort somewhere else, we shall fall behind in the space race to the Russians, the Indians and especially the Chinese.

But we will have bred and nurtured several generations of lazy, unproductive, stupid fat people.

Maybe someone will find a use for them. Perhaps as spaceship fuel.

Crown point cops mistake Huskies for Coyotes..

 .And shoot them.

And the reportage is terrible:

Two dogs that behaved aggressively toward officers were fatally shot by police Wednesday, officials said.

Here, however, is the police report. Note the statement that the "coyotes" were not aggressive towards the humans.

+++++++++++++

It took 4 cops to kill 2 Huskies....8 shots at close range.

Bet I could take the 4 cops in less than that, either with a rifle or a pistol.

Just sayin'.

I think the officers need a bit of training, at best. I really think that they need to be fired. With that poor judgement, do we really need them on the street?

But they are the Only Ones who need to be armed.

'tis better to be silent, and thought a fool

Than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Apparently no one told Barry....

Barry, you are an ass.

People look at young african american men as predators because, in the majority, they act like they are predators. Statistics bear this out.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Don't wanna be treated as a "yo" a "gangsta" a "yoot"....a "nigga"?

Don't dress like and act like one.

Don't want to be followed by the "neighborhood watch guy"?

Don't wander around in the pouring rain looking in porches and windows.

Don't wanna get treated like a lowlife?
Stop acting like one.

Otherwise, deal with the impression that you create.

And stop making excuses for the consequences of the decisions you make and the lifestyle you lead.

Eventually

I'm busier than a three legged cat trying to bury his business on a linoleum floor here...

But I did have this thought..

Detroit is proving to the world Margaret Thatcher's words:

Sooner or later you run out of other people's money".

The Liberal blue state Democrats have been running Detroit for the past 30 years.

For the pat 5 they have been running a deficit of more than $120 million per year.

The deficits, over the past 20+ years have come to roost.

The credit has run out, as the debt is unsustainable. The interest is too much.

Proving thatt the "Iron Lady" was right.

It occurs to me

That one of the things that black people most fear (or at least it seems so)...Is the idea of a lynchin.

To be at the mercy of a mob, a mob disregarding the rule of law, running on emotion and hate and anger.

Yet this is exactly what many blacks want for George Zimmerman.

I find that sad.

THey cry for equal justice.

But they don't want equal justice.

They want revenge for something that they know no more about than I do....Revenge for the killing of a young black man......judged by his peers to be in self defense.

By a "white" man.

And that is all they can see. All that they can see through the lens of hatred, and racism, and class envy....all that they can see through the curtain of hate stirred up by their so-called black leaders.

Were the colors reversed, and a black man had been exonerated for killing a black boy who wasn't a very nice kid, who had beaten the black man....were the whites crying for revenge and for the death of that black man.....that would be wrong. If the whites wanted tomlynch the man, that'd be wrong too.

And it is wrong now.

They claim to want equal justice under the law....but they want special treatment for black people. Different laws...more lenient ones....

And, of course, revenge when the media and the sharptons and jacksons cry for it.

ANything else I might say would be considered racist, so I'll stop here.

escalating?

So I was surprised that there weren't riots after the Zimmerman verdict....pleasantly surprised, actually.

I had thought that I hadn't given our african american brothers enough credit.

But the small riots protests seem to be escalating.

Perhaps they will die out, perhaps they will escalate.

We shall see.

Still, if you work in or pass through or live in an area where such a possibility exists for riots, be careful.

Weekly NSA tease:

Have you ever noticed that when the sun is high and the humidity is rising that it feels very........uncomfortable?

Almost as if you had a thermonuclear furnace bearing down on your back. Fires of damnation and all that.

You sweat as if you had a fever. Almost as if you had Anthrax.

And then, if you stay out in the sun too long, it is almost as if you had been poisoned...perhaps by Jihadi types....maybe with Ricin. I mean, it is like someone is waging a holy war, the heat is so intense.

Yeah, that is the way that I felt Sunday when I was splitting wood for 5 hours. The damned stuff wouldn't split...I mean, it would crack, but not fully split. I had to literally tear it apart at the end, all those fibers keeping the pieces together. I was wondering if I would need some TNT....Or maybe some Octol....Or perhaps some C4.  In the end I used an axe like a sword and chopped the final bits apart.

Eventually after many wedges, I was able to fission the 30 inch rounds so that I could begin to work on them with an axe. More work, each piece struggling like a warrior to stay together. I eventually won the holy war against the wood .

Leaving me with many pieces of wood which had to be stacked carefully, to prevent a collapse, much like the Twin Towers.

I would have used the hydraulic splitter, but it had a leak and I didn't want to poison any water supplies...I mean, the runoff will eventually find it's way into a reservoir, and I don't want that to happen, so I had to do things the manual way. I mean, someone would have to drink that water and I wouldn't want them to get sick or anything...The splitter is offline until I fix the hydraulic leak.

Of course the wood will be burned this winter to help keep me warm as I consider those folks in the mideast who Praise Allah and read the Koran and cry Allah Akbahr! and all that.

I do have a goodly stack of wood drying now, so I will be able to keep my house warm this winter.

And thus it begins

Small issues HERE. (of course, the protesters were a mixed bag of races...white, black, and hispanic, so it may not apply)

Will it die out or get bigger?

We shall see.

Found VIA

ETA: This is good though. Hope he wins.

Watching the media this morning

I gotta wonder what the hell the commentators are smoking...

The spin and attempts to twist the verdict are incredible.

Sometimes I have to wonder if they watched the same Zimmerman trial coverage that I did.

WHen the time comes

Then the time is there.

let the games begin

Zimmerman found "not guilty".

This is funny

Just how stupid are the editors and talking heads in the television media?

Seriously?

Gotta feel for the kid who released the "names". He's screwed his carreer.....but It was worth it, I amsure.

He'll have stories to tell over beers for the rest of his life

Some days....

Some days (on good days) my job doesn't suck. (that is really the best it ever gets anymore).

But other days, it really really really sucks.

Today is one of those days....to top off a sucky week.

Interesting.....

So I talked with another Deputy Sheriff this afternoon (Thursday)...He stopped in to use the bathroom. When he was done, he and I chatted for a few minutes. Good cop, decent person...Takes his job seriously.

I asked his take on the possibility of riots after the Zimmerman verdict is announced...

A little background:

We are about 25 miles south of Gary Indiana...and less than 40 from Chicago's (in)famous South Side. Very rural, and mostly white farm families.

Anyway, he said that they expect issues if and when, in the cities.

His hope is that they do not announce on a Friday or Saturday or Sunday. That will guarantee trouble.

He also said that when the announcement happens, we should be on the lookout for "ghetto cruisers"....cars that don't belong to the area...likely with 3 or more "Yoots".

I suggested that the farmers on the area would be able to deal with any issues better than the police could (most of them own backhoes....).

His point: "We don't need to start this all over again, and we'd hate to see a farmer have to go through what Zimmerman is going through right now..You know some folks would use that to stir more  trouble too....If someone has to shoot someone, we'd rather it is a cop than a citizen....especially right now".

He asked that if we see a ghetto cruiser with yoots that we call them with vehicle description and plate number.....He promised quick action.

They (the cops) do expect trouble....and they do expect that some of  the "Yoots" will go hunting.

Hope he is wrong.

Hope the "yoots" don't underestimate those mild mannered farmers either.

Holder's minions

Apparently spent some of YOUR and MY money to help foment protests in the events leading up to the decision to charge George Zimmerman with Murder.

Yep, the DOJ spent money helping organize the protests that led (eventually) to the State of Florida deciding to charge Mr. Zimmerman for defending himself.

Our tax dollars being spent to drum up charges. To anger and incite the Black community....coincidentally just before an election.....the (hoped for) re-election of the first Black President (sorry Mr. Clinton, it weren't you).

Did this help Mr Obama by stirring up the base of black democratic voters who otherwise would not have bothered to vote? Very likely.

And now, as the closing arguments begin tomorrow (Thursday) and it appears that any sane jury will acquit G. Zimmerman of murder...leading to (likely) rioting in the more densely populated black communities in our nation....The Black Panthers are apparently planning on it...

Will those same people in the DOJ be charged with murder when someone dies because of the riots?

Will they decide that the price paid by some person caught up in the rioting will be worth the result? Whether charged or not, those people have to know that they are responsible for the result. Was ensuring the re-election of Barry worth it?

I hoe they can look at themselves in the mirror

But even more importantly, will our Senators and Congressmen let the Minions of Holder get away with spending taxpayer supplied funds for this purpose?

A little busy here

But I need to take a moment and reiterate:, according to the news, the Defense in the Zimmerman trial is expecting to conclude it's portion of the trial today or early tomorrow.

Now, again, I cannot suggest strongly enough that you need to make preparations if you live or work (or drive through) in an area where there may be people who might react...strongly when the verdict (which may take weeks to arrive, or may take only hours, this is, after all Florida)) is finally announced.

YMMV

ETA: The Defense rested today.

Closing arguments tomorrow(Thursday).

Astroturf

Another fake gun rights group.

American Rifle and Pistol Association.

While it may sell in an anti gun state like NJ, it really doesn't sell anywhere else.

And surely they realize that the folks surfing the internet will call them out?

At least he can get a free hat...

Seems a police officer can't express himself on Social Media these days.

At all.

While I realize that there are standards of behavior for uniformed officers, this is kinda wrong.

Is the Constitution suspended for folks like this?

Monday, July 8, 2013

indoctrination:

SO the other day, I met a young man I had met when he was training to be a Sheriff's deputy.
(I have a good relationships with many policemen, and they tend to use me as a training aid on how to interact with someone who is well grounded in law and constitutional issues and who is strong willed and who has no levers like probation or other issues for a cop to use to intimidate a citizen or suspect)

Now this is a very nice guy. A young 20 something kid who really wants to do well. He really believes that it is his duty to right wrongs and lock up bad guys in order to protect the other citizens. His family wasn't very supportive of his choice of career. His family has a tradition of the male members joining the military and serving for 20+ years. He chose another path against the tradition of his family. He really is a good, decent well meaning person...or at least, he was.

He stopped in the other day....no longer a trainee, but a fully fledged Sheriff's deputy. We chatted and I asked for his take on this video...Since he has always felt that the citizens don't give enough respect to police who protect them....Despite my suggestions that until and unless the police EARN their respect, both individually and collectively, there sill never be the level of respect that he would like to see.

Anyway, as we discussed the video, I came to the conclusion that he didn't see any wrongdoing on the part of the officers.....I asked how he could justify the detention of the man with the dog, when he wasn't in any way impeding them....and asked for justification of the shooting of the dog when he wasn't threatening the officers until provoked?

His attitude was that the dude with the dog shouldn't have been there at all....Was "Looking for trouble". The dog...well, that was a tough call, but (and I cannot argue with this entirely) if the officers felt threatened, then they had the right to use force to protect themselves. He pointed out how quickly a dog can move and attack. When I pointed out that the dog wasn't acting in an aggressive manner, he dismissed that part....Officers can't (and shouldn't be required to) take any chances...If there is a perceived threat, they neutralize it.

But it is sad to see the bright, shiny young man, who entered the force to Do Good....To Protect The Citizens......change as he it taught and schooled by the instructors....

More on this later.....

Interesting dillema?

My Dad brought up the point that in Egypt, we have a democratically elected president who was deposed by the military.

Now, on the one hand, he did not turn out to be the type of president that the people who elected him thought he would be.Many wish that they had made another choice.

On the other hand, he was deposed by the military, in what is a blatant coup. Not sure how their country is gonna turn out right now.

So we have the military deposing a legally and democratically elected choice of the people. Even though he is now unpopular.

Yet the military is clearly doing the popular thing.

So who is in the right? The majority of the people are apparently happy that Morsi is no longer in power.....Yet the people who oppose the "regime change" are correct that this is an illegal act. Unconstitutional.

What if it had happened here in the US?? What if, after the 2012 elections, a cabal of generals had chosen to take power? That would have met approval of many (myself included...sorta), but it would be illegal. And UnConstitutional.

Where would you have taken your stand? If you read this blog often, then you likely believe in the Constitution.....and the rule of law.

Would you oppose the military? Stand behind Obama? Fight for the constitutionally (and legally) elected leader? Or join the revolution? (I wouldn't unzip for Obama if his teeth were on fire, but.....)

If you join the revolution, what does that say about your commitment to the Constitution?

Tough choice, innit?

Same for the Egyptians.

Really, Morsi is just Obama writ large.

Who is right here? Bad president who is legally elected, or do you trash the Constitution?

Screw the military folks

No fireworks for you!!!!

Even if the fireworks are free.

The base just somehow couldn't come up with the other costs.

I wonder.

Its the taxpayers who will pay

'cause it was their employees who did the deed.

Seems that the po-po (5-0 if you are an inner city yoot) in Henderson, Nevada got pissy when a homeowner chose not to knuckle under to demands cooperate with police request to occupy his home for surveillance of a neighbor's property.

Me, I think (if found guilty) that the officers in this incident, with ANY participation, and the supervisors up to and including the chief should be liable for damages. And barred from ever being in any position of authority over any citizens again (maybe not even dogs either).

But likely these stormtroopers police will get, at best, a reprimand and the citizens of Henderson will pay a hefty settlement.  And these bad examples will continue to patrol the community.

Indeed

One way to begin, he suggests, would be to identify the towns in the riskiest areas, the ones that the taxpayers keep bailing out again and again.
Perhaps we say to them: You get one more shot. We will make you whole after the next big storm, and if you choose to use the money to rebuild, then you are on your own.

Read the whole thing.

Glowbal Warmenatering

So this year has been a fairly mild summer, here in NW Indiana...

Last year, when it was 103degrees F on this fourth of July, everyone claimed it was, of course, Global Warming Climate change caused by mankind's toxic detritus from our energy usage...

So this year, when we are unseasonably cool.....when the temperature is (literally) 25 degrees cooler. Is it Global Cooling? AFAIK; there is no change in the Co2 levels...nor a significant decrease in the usage of dead dinosaurs fossil fuels.

Or is it normal variations in the weather?

I await an answer from our esteemed climate "scientists".

Not that I will hold my breath waiting.

Irony

Tam has a message for all of us

HERE

ETA: Seems that TJIC has pissed off the powers that be and is having issues with the Gestapo police "Just following Orders" invading his home and stealing his property again. No idea what laws they are twisting for justification this time...

It's happening on Independence Day.....In Boston....the cradle of the Independence movement 237 years ago.

So little has changed in all those years.

The Kings men still trample on the rights of the colonists...

But today, the colonists don't resist.

Our founding fathers would be shooting by now.

If you enjoy your fireworks

This Fourth of July Independence Day....

Think about all those folks who used to get fireworks, but now don't, because, despite the fact that Barry Obama and his entourage were able to find the millions of dollars to fund their trip top Africa, (in excess of $70,000,000) there is no money available for fireworks for military bases and other federal reserves.

Yeah, again, Barry fucked the military so he can party.

4 July

Here, it is Independence day.

A day to celebrate the date in 1776 when the colonists chose to declare that they would no longer be subjects of a Kin, but rather choose their own fate.

And they did.

The United States is the result.

And until about 15 years ago, it was the best country on the planet. It still is, but it is fading quickly.

If you haven't, find a copy of the Declaration that was signed this day in 1776 and read it.

Most of that is applicable today. Perhaps we too should declare OUR Independence from this country.

I'd be willing to sign my name to a similar document today. Even knowing what happened to many of the signers of the original.

Our ancestors would be shooting now.

If they give her immunity

Then she'll have some sort of accident, I am sure...

Likely BEFORE she can testify.

Lois Lerner (of IRS fame) has offered to testify IF SHE IS GIVEN IMMUNITY.

Not that anyone should do so, however. She should be forced to testify.....she waived her rights when she gave her rant before the congress.

But if she makes the deal, then she had better get some really really REALLY good bodyguards.

Or she will end up dead.

Tuesday, July 2, 2013

And yet, they don't understand...

They want respect and cooperation.

But then things like THIS happen. And little or no punishment is incurred.

And, no doubt, the "Blue Wall" will close behind the officers, protecting them.

I'd have no issue extracting retribution, were this my pet. I'd enjoy it.  I'd likely be jailed, but that's what would happen....and I'd be making the streets safer by doing so.

Monday, July 1, 2013

Yet the MSM is silent...

Obama promotes voter ID....in Kenya.

But not, of course, here.

Then the dead couldn't vote.

No voter fraud would decimate (literally) the DNC.
