Rightspeak

Seems that Twitter is deleting and otherwise censoring tweets that question David Hogg, the oddly articulate young Californian graduate student that has become the spokesman for the Parkland shooting victims.

"On Wednesday, Twitter Safety released a statement regarding the Parkland students. Anyone ‘harassing’ (disagreeing with) the students will be banned.

Twitter also said something very interesting. They are using ‘anti-abuse tools to weed out malicious automation around these individuals and the topics they are raising.’"

So, only the "right" people with the "right" message get to be heard. Dissent will be deleted.

Interesting.
I always thought that 1984 was a novel, not a prophecy.

!984 was a novel - and also a phophesy .

It was also a commentary on Stain's 1948 USSR. Apparently, the Broward County Sheriffs Office are not the only ones to ignore repeated warnings .....

It was reported in the Washington Post a few days ago that the claims that Mr Hogg is a California high school graduate/ college student/ paid crisis actor are false. Apparently a website that has been known to publish false information was picked up by several outlets, including the ever sane Alex Jones, and the rumor has spread across the internet wide wildfire.

And yet he WAS in California 6 months ago, he is oddly well spoken for a 17 year old, and thre's a LOT of oddities about him.

Twitter, however, chose to simply edit any questions out.

the kid chases his 15 minutes of fame through all the 24/7 news channels, yet he is off-limits as a topic on social media?

I think FB/Twitter/etc. are using Parkland as an opportunity to apply their next-level 1A-stifling features.

I've had 2 FB friends sent to FB jail for mentioning Hogg in a post. In the past, FB Jail was reserved for people who used socially-banned vocabulary like "faggot" and "religion of peace." I saw a screenshot of a Hogg-related FB comment that had a "Fact Checker" tag on it. I guess you can click that and get the newspeak opinion of the day.

I'm encouraging my friends to move from FB to MeWe. There are alternatives where truth is still allowed.

Yes he WAS in California, on a vacation, (that would be in August, school’s out, summer vacation) visiting with his cousin when the lifeguard confrontation took place.

And compared to when I was 17, yes he is well spoken. Also these 17 year olds know more about computers than I did when I was 17, are more fluent in technology than I was at 17, and probably know more about women than I did at 17 (I was very naive). That he can articulate his position eloquently is proof of nothing.
