Double standards....

So the Left, in an obviously planned campaign (gleefully pushed by the Media), has accused Trump of poor taste and bad rhetoric and simply not making twitter comments in good taste.

Perhaps true. He could take the High Road a bit more often.

But a bit of the "Pot calling the kettle" and all that innit?

The rhetoric from the Left, since well before November, has been rude, cheap shitty, disrespectful and just plain cheap shots.

But, as usual, the Left holds their opponents to a higher standard than they do themselves. Perhaps they could learn from the unsolicited advice they have given him.

Tuesday, June 27, 2017

It is as we expected:

Made up, Democrat and DNC operative and Press (but I repeat myself) bullshit designed to harm Trump and boost ratings.

Which I would just write off as "politics as usual" except for the fact that Robert Mueller is gonna spend MILLION if not Tens of MILLIONS of your tax dollars looking for something to satisfy his masters...some kind of charge they can level against Donald Trump of his appointees. I object, not to the dirt digging (I actually approve of that!) but to the character assassination and to the fact that it is PUBLIC FUNDS tat are paying for it.

And the sad part is that all the liberals, even the formerly (somewhat) rational ones are frothing at the mouth for someone to find something on Trump....no objection to a Special Counsel who has nothing to point to to start his investigation except some meme put forth a few days post-Hillary defeat by the DNC to explain their terrible loss....Which the Media jumped on and repeated enough that it took on a (artificial) life of it's own.....

Again: I don't object to an investigation of the accusations. I DO object to the fact that the accusations are made up from Whole Cloth and that the U.S. Taxpayers are paying for it. Let the Media do its job, and find some (real) dirt that can be proved.

They oughta impeach

Each and every single judge that stayed Trump's Travel Ban. Each and every one of them. The ban was legal, Constitutional, and well within the powers of the President to enact.

The Supremes said so.

Any and all of the Judges in the Circuit courts, by their actions, have shown that they are not able to be dispassionate nor apolitical, but rather are partisan hacks. Which disqualifies them from, you know, actually adjudicating according to law.

Damn. 10 minutes

That is a LONG time to be giving CPR. I'm in decent shape and I start sweating about the 3 minute mark. Tired after 5.

I bet that last 5 must have been hell.

But he saved the dude's life.

Chicago police officer saves life of man who collapsed on basketball court.

I'm not sure I could give CPR for 10 minutes.
Could you?

If it weren't

A win for free speech

And notice that the Federal nor State Government cannot legislate tolerance.

On the one hand, I believe that a business should be allowed to discriminate/Refuse Service against anyone they choose to. Gays, blacks, whites, chinese,Muslims, Catholics  martians, single women, single men, Women with short hair, CisBiGenderQueersWhatever with(or without) purple hair, Fuzzies, dogs, unshaven men (or women), cats, sheep (especially sheep),  etc.....Camels too.

Now, if they go out of business because someone objects to that discrimination and tells everyone about it on Social Media, and people stop buying at their business or decides not to use those services....then tough shit for them.

But they get the choice to be stupid and Walk their Talk, be it religious, bigotry, stupidity,  or just plain muleishnes.

So, on the one hand, I find this Court of Appeals decision good.

On the other hand, the law has a bunch of language that essentially makes Christianity the State Religion, which I object to.

And the law allows public servants to choose to use a "Religious Objection" as a reason to not do their job....such as City and County clerks to choose to NOT issue marriage licenses. Which is wrong. If you are a Clerk, and you object to something your job requires, you can quit, but you can't just not do your job.

So this is a halfway win for freedom, but a fail for Constitutionality and for making certain Public Servants do their job...

I'd expected better from the 5th Court.....

So izzit "just a piece of paper?"

So we have, at least, a First Amendment issue, and at least a Fourth Amendment issue.

Yet, we get "Qualified Immunity" once again.

At what point are officers gonna be held personally liable for their actions? Until they are, then we will have cases like this.

I get it. A noise complaint. Then they want to use that as an excuse to search, because that is what cops do. Then they mock and verbally abuse a woman, because bullies...(Which a lot of cops are, and a lot more aren't, so don't tell me in comments how cops are pigs and all that shit, ok?) AND THE COURT SAYS IT IS WRONG BUT LETS 'EM GET AWAY WITH IT ANYWAY!
Until the courts begin punishing cops for this, our Constitution is, indeed, just a piece of paper. And our Constitutional rights are just words. And the cops oath is just so many words as well.

Good:

Businesses damaged in riots in Baltimore sue city, Ex mayor, Top Cop for damages.
a
Bout time this started happening. Failing to protect those who are forced to pay taxes for that "Protection" should be punishable. Those officials in positions of who give the orders to "Stand Down" and to "Give them the space to destroy" should be liable for damages....Not for their failure in their attempt to protect but for choosing not to even try.

Individual cops were not given the resources nor backup to be able to prevent the looting and rioting.

Their commanders failed both them and the city. The Mayor failed everyone.
They should be PERSONALLY liable for the damage they allowed, by their inaction, to occur.

How can I believe anything the FBI claims?

I mean, there have been some things that looked "fishy" in the past, and some stuff that was obviously just politically motivated....

But really?

The gunman who shot a top House Republican and four other people on a Virginia baseball field didn’t have any concrete plans to inflict violence on the Republicans he loathed, FBI officials said Wednesday...They said he acted alone and had no connections to terror groups. But they said they had not yet clarified who, if anyone, he planned to target, or why, beyond his animus toward President Donald Trump and the Republicans he felt were ruining the country...“At this point in the investigation, it appears more spontaneous,” Slater said.  Hodgkinson had a piece of paper with the names of six members of Congress written on it, Slater said, but the note lacked any further context and there was no evidence from his computer, phone or other belongings that indicated he planned to target those officials...He also took pictures of the baseball field where he would later fire more than 60 shots. “The FBI does not believe that these photographs represented surveillance of intended targets,” the FBI said

I can no longer believe anything the FBI or it's agents tell me.

Move along, Nothing to see here, Citizen.

In other news:  "We have NEVER been at war with EastAsia".

ETA: (found via INSTY)  P much what I said, only written better:retty

There’s no reason to beat around the bush here: what the FBI is claiming is mind-boggling when they claim the shooter had no target in mind. Consider the number of accidents of circumstance you would have to believe were going on here to not have the shooter doing what seems obvious from every piece of evidence we have: researching and planning for an attack on Republicans of some kind, particularly looking for an opportunity when security will be low and vulnerability will be high. This was an attack, not an “anger management” problem.

Step back, though, and think on the institutional conclusions here. Considering how ludicrous the FBI’s conclusions are as it relates to an attack on the third ranking member of the House of Representatives, you might reconsider whether to trust the FBI’s conclusions in other areas, as well. And this is how our faith in institutions is degraded: steadily, gradually, with incident after incident where men in suits stand in front of microphones and make claims we know are not the whole truth.

No free speech

At least not in Europe:

German Police raid homes of 36 people:

German police have carried out a series of raids, targeting people suspected of posting hate content on social media.
and in Britain:

I don't think I'd move there if you paid me. I often dislike some of what I read here in the US, but I will stand fast to fight for the right to say it.
Who defines "Hate Speech"?

I just don't get it

While I never thought that GOP Congressmen and Senators were incredibly intelligent, one would think that they can tell the difference between ObamaCare Lite and REPEAL.

I know 4 year olds that have that much cognitive ability.

So either they really like the idea of Socialized Medicine, or they are Rilly, Rilly Stupid.

And this bill really doesn't fix any of the significant failures of BarryCare.

I stand with the GOP Senators that will vote against their Party and against this legislation.

Border wall

Now with Solar Panels.

Which means he has now conflicted at least 25% of the opposition.

If he'd put windmills every 100 yards, he'd get even more support from the other side.....

Add in "Fair Trade" timbers and "Sustainable" netting and he'd have at least 5/8 of the opposition demanding the wall.....

A perfect example

Of when Trump Derangement Syndrome and "Journalism" cross paths.

A total loss of rationality. And objectivity too.

It is amazing that anyone can find someone to publish this sort of shit drivel.

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

Odd, this was OK 8 years ago.

When the Democrats were jamming ObamaCare up our ass:

Now they want a place at the table on Trump's revision of ObamaCare. One that removes some of the freebies and some of the waste.

One that (supposedly, we don't know) will make it a viable plan.

Guess they'll have to "Pass it to find out what's in it", just like 8 years ago.

(actually, I don't like it, and I want to see what is in it before the vote is taken. But innit interesting how, when their tactics are used against 'em, that the DNC types get a pissy? Sauce/Goose/Gander, and all that.

And the Democrats and the Media (but, again, I repeat myself) keep conflating "Health Care" with Health Care Insurance"....they are either stupid or deliberately lying to keep their socialist program alive.....

Yer gonna smile

Hell, yer gonna laugh.

'Tis interesting:

So some asshole white guy struck back against those acts of terrorism by muslims in the UK.

Sadly, he likely struck against the wrong folks. This is a tragedy. And bad, and wrong...And, as the authorities have stated, Terrorism.

However, one has to ask: Why was it IMMEDIATELY identified as terrorism? When a Muslim person does the attack, it takes hours or days for the "Authorities" to claim (or admit) Terrorism. This time, with what was appears to be a white man being the perpetrator, it was called Terrorism nearly immediately.

Why the rush this time?

Happy father's day

To all the Dads out there, especially mine. I was lucky, I had a good dad. Hope you did too...

For the more urban folks, if you know who yer daddy is, and if he isn't in prison, you should call him today.

Droppin' like....

Flounder.

Steven Furst has passed.

Christ, I must be getting old. all these actors from my youth are dropping dead.

Just in time for summer:

Yeah, one wonders about the timing.....

This oughta make for a "lively" weekend

Minneapolis cop acquitted in fatal shooting of Philando Castile.

I dunno. He seemed panicky in the video, like he knew he had overreacted. And Castile never took the gun out of his pocket. He DID inform the officer, which, according to the video from the squad car, is when he got shot.

I wasn't there, and neither were you. But having said that, I don't see how, were I on that jury, could have voted for acquittal.

YMMV.

Thursday, June 15, 2017

Of course we can't.

Of course, we all knew he was either stupid, or lying.

Now there is this...and THIS

Good thing we didn't start drilling in 2012. Why, then our gas might be under a dollar.....

Why is it always the Leftists

Who are so violent? Who believe that violence is ok if the victim is someone with whom they disagree.....?

Dude was a Bernie supporter and very Anti-Republican and Anti-Trump.

Story HERE  (And since the story is from CNN you know it is true, factual, unbiased and complete)

Since there is no bleating amongst the Democrats or the media (but, again, I repeat myself) about "Assault Weapons" and such, I am assuming that it was a more or less standard hunting rifle, rather than an AR type of firearm....although I don't know for sure.

Heh:

Glowbal Warmenating Climate Changerizing study cancelled in Canadia because of 'Unprecedented Ice"

Crown Point School board backs asinine decision by School Administrator:

Well, they (finally) returned my calls.

"The Crown Point School Board fully supports the decisions made by Principal Chip Pettit in the matter regarding the graduation ceremony on June 6",

Well, at least they were clear and not wishy-washy the way so many Bureaucrats are. It does, however, show their true colors.

Article HERE in the local fishwrap.

This will be noticed by the community. Anger is high, and next election, I expect that there will be changes. Folks here don't forget.

The excuse is that he would have been given a special "cord" to denote his military service. Who among us would have recognized the significance of a colored cord?  Other local schools have allowed graduates to walk in the ceremonies with their military uniforms. They don't have to hide behind some unknown and unwritten "Policy"

Yet this ass hides behind that same  "Policy". Which shows his unsuitability for the position he holds as a school administrator. (I asked if they could show me a written policy and they could not....odd that).

Or, it could be that he is a Leftist and was making his own statement.

Make your best guess here. I know which one I think is true.

One would wonder, if a Sikh or a muslim woman in chador wanted to walk the graduation, would they have allowed them to walk without the cap?  Is there a policy for that?

Flag day

In 1777, on this day, our Flag, the symbol of the USA, was formally adopted.

While to many, the Flag is just a piece of cloth, to me it is they symbol of what the US is, stands for, and what it can become.

Attempting to burn a Flag in my presence, or otherwise disrespecting it, is not a safe thing to do.

meme twist

I like how it has gone from reporters telling us about a "DNC claim of russian intereference" to "possible russian interference", to a solid "Russian intereference in the elections"

And yet, there has been no evidence of any at all.

Whoever is driving the media on this has done a masterful job, really.

All you folks who mock TheDonald:

Remember this?

"After Obama-mocking rodeo clown, Missouri fair requires 'sensitivity training'"

Now that the shoe is on the other hand, would you like to adhere to your own rules?

I'm all for it, either way, but be consistent. If we get to mock and disrespect presidents all out of the bounds of decency, then we can have fun in 4 years....Don't whine when we bruise the ego of your candidate if he/she wins....

You really won't like how it ends....

And remember: This is what the Left considers acceptable today:

Just think if we'd done that with a Barry mask. Think of the OUTRAGE! on CNN and the rest of the MSM....(and outrage would have been the correct response....why isn't it correct here? ) Where are the Media on this??

We can only hope

Priebus has been told to either do his job or he is out.

I look forward to 4 July

Oh, hellz no

We already spend way too much on the Puerto Rican failed state.

They've bankrupted the island,....

No fucking way should we give 'em statehood.

They'll just help fuck up the USA faster.

What we oughta do is toss 'e, back. Revoke their Territorial status.

Without the US, the island would sink into complete poverty. We've spent enough money there for no gain. And they apparently can't even get their shit together with our help.

He must have missed

Shot his victim only in the hand.....with a shotshell filled with Rice Krispies...?

Failed Cereal Killer?

(sorry, I just had to....)

So when, exactly

did it become acceptable for mid 20's to 40's women to be so.....fat large?

I was on the beach today, which is unusual, I usually avoid them on the weekends...Which was when I noticed that the slimmest girl thre was what, in my day, would have been called overweight.

I mean, I understand, up to a point, but when you are in your mid 20's there is no excuse for having saddlebags like that on your hips, nor saddlebags AND a serious muffin top in your 30's. Looking like a barrel isn't acceptable, at any age.....And if you are egg shaped, then, seriously, don't you have a mirror? Or any pride, for that matter?

Guys of that age seem to find this acceptable, however, so some of the blame is on them, I suppose. They seem to be happy with extreme plump women.....

Yes, I get it, I am "Fat Shaming"...But if you are fat, then you should be ashamed.

Jesus, ladies, if you are 40+ lbs overweight at 25, what will you look like when you are 50?

And yes, the size of women has gone up over the years. (Scroll down for a chart) I checked before I wrote this. There is no longer a size six or eight, really, today....

ETA: Yes, there are some overweight men of the same age too, but overall, the percentage of fat young men hasn't changed much. The percentage of fat young women has increased. Greatly.

And yes, I know the difference between skinny, healthy, and fat.

In my backyard....

The school folks once again show their liberal bias:

Young marine banned from High School Graduation ceremony because he was wearing his marine uniform.

I'm thinkin' Immna call the Mayor and, if I can find 'em, the members of the school board and ask why Principal Chip Pettit is still employed.

Liberals. It is disease of the mind.

Update:
The mayor's office refused to comment except that it wasn't his responsibility, but rather that of the school board.... and NO ONE at the school board was "In" today. Odd, that.

I did leave Voicemails, but really don't expect any response. Apparently there are a LOT of calls about this, according to the lady who was on the switchboard.

So Comey's testimony

Amounted to......

Nothing. ?.?
If the Donald did anything immoral, illegal, or in any other way bad, no one can find a way to pin anything on him.

This whole debacle was a big to do about nothing, and it appears to have been designed to gin up some bad thoughts about the President among the uninformed and the DNC voters (but
I repeat myself).

I fail to see what the benefit of all of this was. Those open minded folks who look at facts will either support the President or not according to his actions. The Democrats already hated Trump so there was no gain there. The Republican voters disliked the Democratic politicians, now they dislike them even more...The TDS folks aren't rational, so they really don't matter anyway.

I fail to see the point in all this, except to give the talking head pundits something to pontificate about. The DNC folks won nothing (and now look foolish), the RNC folks gained nothing, and TheDonald came out of this stronger than before.

Wednesday, June 7, 2017

And yet....

It NEVER MENTIONS THE "Prophet". Nowhere does it say "Mohammed".

Yet the Muslims folk are all in a tither.

Billboard sparks outrage amongst Muslims in Indianapolis,

Interesting.

Sorry for the quality of the pic.

Thought for the dae:

“Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.”

Ronald Reagan.

Dark of moon,

The Normandy Landings begin.

Operation Overlord has begun.

D-Day.

The beginning of the end for Germany.

Remember.

London terror aftermath:

12 people were arrested.

12.

Ten plus two.

How is it that the cops knew how (and who) to arrest just hours after such an attack?

How is it that they couldn't stop this, if they knew who was aiding these folks?

I mean, it isn't like they are questioning the terrorists that the police shot dead, izzit?

Where did the leads they followed up on for the arrests come from?

These boys were known to the authorities, or else they'd still be trying to identify them....and the Government folks wouldn't have been this far in any investigation.

'Twas a great performance

Had dinner and a concert with my parents and MC in Chicago...

Beautiful afternoon for parking and walking in Wriglyville for dinner and then to the concert.

Early dinner at Mia Francesca.

Then a short walk to the theater to get in line for the concert.

Security at the entrance was a joke. But the security folks did put on a great show....Everyone got scrutinized, patted down, and purses and bags searched....It was, as I said, a great show of security.....

I DID smuggle two knives in, just to see if I could.

Not huge ones, but they could have been.

Hell, I could have carried a 1911 and at least 3 mags, the personal body search was so perfunctory....
Probably not a backpack full of nails though, they were checking backpacks and purses for bottles of alcohol (didn't want competition for the bar inside).

Event Security during the concert was vigilant, however. Gotta give props for that. I'm not sure what good unarmed security can do, but they WERE watching everyone.

The Rodrigo y Gabriela concert was a good one. Good warm up by Ryan Sheridan and a great performance by the headliners.

All in all a great evening.

I think the Splodey Jihadi types were busy elsewhere....

Sunday, June 4, 2017

Quote for the day:

" 'Tis better to run out of Tangoes than to run out of ammo"

A good thought for today's world....Especially when some of those unvetted Somali refugees recently brought here get with someone from Dearbornistan for support and radicalize some second generation muslims here in the US and start their own brand of shenanigans....

It has already happened: San Bernardino, Orlando, etc (ETA 9-11-01 how could I forget that?). The media has done all they can to discount it, along with the Feds, but you know it for what it is....

Doesn't have to be Guns or Explosives either, as we have seen in Europe. Trucks, bombs, knives. They all work. Even poison gasses or poisons in water can be used.....if you are a monster....

But here is the thing. If you cower in fear, they win. I am going to a concert tonight in Chicago. There, I have to be unarmed, as they don't have reciprocity with Indiana (or anyone, I think). I'm not going to miss my concert just because some Islamic Jihadist terrorists have been successful elsewhere.

Otherwise, they win by default.

Gunshow report:

The day was wonderful. Arrived at 11:00 local Saturday. Sunny, Warm, Temps in the upper 70's. No line at the door.

Lots of ammo, even rimfire. Pricing was better, but not good. I expect that it will continue to decrease a bit.

Nearly anything for sale. Pistols and rifles and all, new or used. Pricing on new was better as well. Lots of AR stuff, pricing was decent if not good.

Few bargains to be found, however.

Attendance was less than expected. I know a fair percentage of the vendors at that show, and they were surprised at the poor attendance. Some folks didn't think they'd break even.

I didn't see many buyers. The weather may have affected the attendance some, but even if it were raining I doubt that the venue would have been full. he interest just doesn't seem to be there now that there is a Second-Friendly Republican in the White House.

I came home with 98.73% of the cash I took. I did order a stock for a project rifle I will be starting.

Saturday, June 3, 2017

I'm off to the Gunshow

So, while I am gone, you might want to read THIS.

Yes, it is a bit biased. But it is, also, Truth.

Thanks to all that gave condolences and comfort Re: Bob the Cat

Disapproving cat....

is disapproving no more

The vet was going to come out at noon. Bob chose his own way out and passed the Bridge at 4 AM instead.

My friend Bob is in pain no more.

Rescued 7 years ago when some asshole abandoned him. He was starving when I found him. Hard to catch fieldmice when it is -15 F. Damned near frozen to death too....All he wanted was food, shelter, and love. I gave that. He gave back in spades.

He was FIV positive. Which is what killed him, ultimately.

'Twas a good 7 years. I think they were good for him as well. He seemed happy and content until Tuesday. The decline was swift.

I shall miss him. If  y'all could say a word to whomever you pray to for him, that'd be much appreciated.

I might not blog for a bit.
