Bummer:

Via Tam, I find that Brock Yates has passed.

I grew up reading his prose, and the magazine he edited...Car and Driver. I learned a lot from those glossy pages, and they opened up a world of dreams(at least half of the dreams, anyway) that most young boys have....Fast cars driven well and to their limits.

Somewhere, I have his autograph, from meeting him at the Indy 500 time trials in the late 80's or  early 90's. He was a nice guy to a young geeky man....he had class. Made me feel good about myself. Nobility is another good word.

This world is a lesser place with his passing.
