Question:

If love is blind, then why is lingerie so popular?

Just wonderin'

You'er right. Wood heat is not ideal for cool, mild weather. Wood stoves work best running at maximum capacity. I experience the same thing with my wood pellet stove, and that's much more suited to intermittent daily use than a traditional wood stove. I have found it's best to just wait until temperatures get low enough where my stove can run constantly before using it, and I my furnace runs on propane which is much more expensive than natural gas.

You're doing the right thing. If the highs are in the 40's and 50's, you're not going to be using all that much gas anyway, especially on calm, sunny days.
