Seems that Mr. Ahmadinejad doesn't like Mr. Obama. When Obama made a statement about the crackdowns in Iran, Mr Ahmadinejad got petulant and blustery and antagonistic. I guess that Obama might have to learn a lesson here. The culture of the Persians is one where accommodation and cooperation and being conciliatory is taken as a sign of weakness, and when you hold your ground (not that Obama has done much but criticize, and was late to do that) then you become an enemy again. How much ground did he gain with Iran by being conciliatory? Zero. If anything, his conciliatory tone made Iran braver.
You'd think that someone as educated as Obama would have understood that, but he didn't, and now he gets a lesson. How many more lessons will he have to learn this way?
He is showing that he is as weak as Carter, and just as (if not more) inept in the way he handles our foreign policy. He has not gained ground with our enemies and has effectively insulted our allies.
I learned a long time ago, on the school playground, that the best way to handle a bully is to step on his toes until he apologizes. Apparently, Barry never got that lesson, and is learning it now. (if he ever does).
Accommodation in the attempt to create dialog assumes that the other person is willing to accommodate in return. Barry is learning that not all cultures are willing, and not everyone is a mild mannered liberal in their thinking.
I hope he learns quickly, before he makes a bigger mess of things than what we already have.
