That Black and White and Latino and Asian and Middle Eastern people can peacefully coexist...
As Brigid told the Story.....We went to the local Swap -O-Rama in Alsip, Illinois.
There, people, on the surface at least, look past color and race and ethnicity and language...
They speak Cash, see Green, and really only care about making a sale or a deal. No one looks for trouble, and there is none...any that starts is soon squelched. Commerce is king.
I sincerely doubt that many of those folks selling at the Swap O Rama would care to have me live in their neighborhood...(To be fair, some might, some would definitely not, and most are somewhere in between), and I might not care to have all of them move into my neighborhood.....Which is fine.....if we can meet, and interact, and deal in peace and with mutual respect and consideration, then we can coexist.
If people, no matter what their color, race, or ethnicity, will choose to be civilized, and pay attention to the rules of civility and society, then our society will have a chance.
If they won't, then we can't coexist. Period.

Question:
If all those women are upset by Trump's comments.....
Who bought those 80+ million copies of "50 shades of Grey"?
It surely wasn't men, now was it?
(I don't facebook, but a friend showed me where this question was all over facebook....For some reason, it wouldn't copy/paste)

I hope it works this time
So there is apparently going to be another boycott of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
This time, for backing Black Lives Matter.
I dunno. it is because of their support of liberal social change groups that I choose not to buy their products. Other people choose to buy 'em, and that is ok too.
I've never seen a boycott work, at least not in the long term. People have short attention spans.

Truths:
HERE
and HERE
And HERE
Fact is, real men(sometimes) talk to other men about women in ways that aren't always approved by women or the PC liberal WhinePussies. Real women talk about men in ways that we men wouldn't generally approve of either. (Real Men don't care though...we are strong enough to deal with it...I think real women are strong enough to deal with it too)
Also, Trump is rich...he was then, too. Lots of ladies throw themselves at Real Men....more when he is rich. What do they use for bait? Yeop, their bodies and beauty. But that is different, innit?

"you loot, we shoot"
Yeah, it happened for real near Daytona Beach.
Organized by Black Lives Matter, it resulted in 31 (Yep, Thirty One People) dead and others wounded. (I have no idea as to the races of those shot, nor what race the looters were, nor the shopkeepers...I can suspect, but I have no reports)
Hope that there was something worth dying over in those stores...either worth dying to steal, or dying to defend.
'Twasn't white folks who organized this attempt at organized looting. No one is saying the race of the looters......draw your own conclusions (bet they aren't as pale as me).
I wonder what kind of hay the race baiters are gonna try to make out of this?

Where are the resignations?
Or the transfers?
FBI agents are ready to revolt over the cozy Clinton probe
I mean, all these (supposedly) upstanding, morally outraged FBI agents
Yet they still work for the FBI, they still follow orders, none have resigned in protest of the destruction of their once proud institution and reputation.....
And they followed orders, even when they KNEW those orders were immoral, if not illegal.

I had no answer.

Y'know...
If you are stuck line trying to buy gas or are bemoaning the fact that there is no water or bread or other food on the shelves at the stores in Florida...(and if you have the time to discuss it with the news media).....
I really don't feel sorry for you.
Anyone with 2 synapses to rub together has known for at least the past 4 days that Hurricane Matthew would be impacting the state of Florida in some manner. At a minimum you were gonna get some high winds and significant rainfall.
The fact that you didn't bother to begin to prepare until 36 hours before the lanndfall, and are now stuck trying to find (nonexistant) supplies that everyone else bought 48 hours ago, and are stuck in a line trying to buy gasoline (either to bug out or for a generator) does not raise any sympathy with me. None.
"Failure to plan is planning to fail"
Now you are likely to take the time for some First Responder or force the county or state to find space in a shelter for your sorry ass.
I'd let you drown or starve. It'd be better for the Human Race.

Very wierd
And creepy...
And, of course, the pussies are wetting themselves....Demanding the police "Do Something"...The police ARE increasing patrols, but not much else. Some parents are all upset, which is what the posters want...
'Clowns' posting threats to schools on social media.
ME? I'd make sure each kid walking to school had a baseball bat, and that they walked in groups. Or (better) accompany MY kid to school...Properly armed.
A couple of beaten, dead "clowns" with smoking holes in them would stop this shit really quickly.
ETA: Apparently this shit is happening in a lot of places?

Discrimination by Color and Race
Can you imagine if some White Fraternity chose to discriminate based on race?
"No Blacks Allowed". Can you hear the screams? The cries of" Racisss" The complaints that this is discrimination?
Yet Columbia University is helping Black Students hold a Black Only (No Whites Allowed) "Leadership Retreat".
Now, I despise the double standard. But more importantly, the University, while a private institution, takes Federal and state money in the form of grants and scholorships...Which means that they cannot and should not help discriminate.
Enough is enough. Discrimination is bad. I agree. But why is it only bad when White people do it? Whites have reason not to want Blacks around. Valid reasons. So, I would assume, do Blacks have reasons not to want Whites around. Valid ones...
But if we, as whites, can't discriminate or exclude based on color or race, then neither can they.
Enough of this shit. Allowing discrimination isn't gonna right any wrongs, perceived or otherwise, that may or may not have occurred in the past. It is only gonna make more of it happen.

White boys matter:
Yeah, how many of us even heard about this"
Boy killed after city marshals shoot at vehicle.
Yeah, dad apparently didn't stop when ordered to...cops chased him....Marshalls let loose and fire 18 shots at the car.
Sadly, they kill his 6 year old Special Needs son in his car seat as well as wound the Dad,...(They claim self defense, that the car was used aggressively against them (but the bodycam shows otherwise)
Last November.....it really happened.
The riots in Louisiana neighborhoods were loud and stopped traffic. The looting was terrible. Stores burned, people were injured, car were overturned.
The Governor considered calling the National Guard out to control things....
Oh, wait, it was a white child that was killed....and a white man that was shot. By black Cops.
There were no riots, there was no looting. White people didn't stop traffic, nor burn down businesses. The National Guard wasn't called.
Instead, they let the Justice system work....and those same cops were tried for murder.
Odd how that works, innit?

Yust FYI:
A test of the National EAS system will (or is SUPPOSED to) occur at 2:20 Eastern...
Since many are at work at that time, if might be worthwhile to see if you notice it.
Just so you will be notified, if and when......(or can arrange for alternate notifications from someone else if you don't notice this test). Might be important someday to know if the EAS system reaches you at work....
That is all.

We'd know.
So the Media can't wait to tell us all that Hillary won the Debate....Handily
I gotta say that I didn't see it that way...
But the one thing I keep thinking is that if she had won the debate "handily", then they wouldn't need to tell us.
We'd already know

Y'know....
I am completely against any iteration of "Stop and Frisk".
There is the pesky Fourth Amendment thing....
But why is it that no one will admit, or touch or even just fucking state the obvious:
The police stopped young black men under "Stop and Frisk" disproportionally simply because they got results...
Stopping carloads or groups of white dudes didn't yield the drugs and weapons IN PROPORTION....
Fishermen fish in lakes where the fish are, not in barrels where they aren't.
Willie Sutton, a notorious bank robber in the 30's, 40's and 50's, was reported to have said, when asked "why do you rob banks?"...."Because that is where the money is"
Same same with "Stop and Frisk":
You can see, by their manner, the way they are dressed, etc., be they white or black or hispanic, which individuals are likely to result in a fruitful search. I can, if you are observant, you can, and especially experienced cops can.
If the fact that they choose not to waste their time on clean cut kids of any race offends you...if the fact that there is a higher proportion of clean cut kids that are white (and to a lesser percent, hispanic) and a lower proportion in the inner city black kids offends you...then I am sorry your pollyana viewpoint is hiding reality from you.
Again, I believe that Donald is wrong on 'Stop and Frisk".....
But why won't anyone tell the truth?

Wake
My first thought upon waking was:
"Get this Damned cat off my feet"
But my second one was:
"The Donald didn't really strike at any of the openings Hillary left him."
Followed with "Why didn't he?"
I mean, Computer Security, National Defense (Benghazi?) the "plight" of African-Americans, the failure of the Democrat leadership in cities, the list is long. I mean, her health alone could have taken an entire segment....
And he didn't take any of the openings.....Why Not?

So....
Our Second Amendment rights will be in the hands of 2 possible people.
A bad one
And a worse one....
As Tam said to me over lunch a few weeks ago. You have 2 choices:
A New York Democrat,
Or a New York Democrat.
Stop and Frisk?
No Fly list?
Terrorist Watch list?
Any of those statements would disqualify a candidate as President in my book.
So we are left with the choice of the lesser of the two weasels.

Racism
Yeah, that's me...
Helping a friend at a gunshow. He is a dealer, but doesn't have a store. Gunshows only. He has 8 tables, so needs some help to keep an eye out when it gets busy.
His policy is that you have to be 21 to fondle the pistols, 18 for rifles and shotguns...since you have to be that old to purchase them. I can let a father handle a rifle and hand it to his 14 year old son, but if you are a 19 year old man, you can't play with the pistols or revolvers.
So I am discussing the merits of an XD vs Glock with a very nice gentleman, nice guy, mid 40's...wife or girlfriend alongside.... first gun for both of them.
Up walk 2 young men late teens, maybe early 20's. Pick up a SW Shield... I ask politely if they are 21.
"No".
"Then I am sorry, the owner says I can't show you pistols unless you are of age to buy one, so you gotta be 21 to pick 'em up.".
"It's because I am black, ain't it?" (they were both, in fact, black).
The dude and his lady who I had been talking to looked at the kids. Dude says "He told you why...." (Dude himself is also black). "Don't see no Racism here".
Kinda shut the kids down.
He chose and I sold to him the XDS in .40. I also sold 'em on the idea of some NRA Basic Pistol Training.
I appreciated his support, but the kids kinda pissed me off.

What total moronic idiots some folks are.....Do they really not understand how such things work?
What total moronic idiots some folks are.....Do they really not understand how such things work?
Unicorn
So at the gunshow yesterday, I found a gun that I had been looking for:
A Beretta TomCat 3032 in STAINLESS. (I have one in the Matte /parkerized finish, but my sweat eats non stainless guns...I have to clean it twice a week in the summer months, so I was looking for a stainless one)
When they were in production they weren't common. now that production is currently on hold they are kinda hard to find.
Found one in a showcase. If it has been shot, it is less than a box full. like maybe a mag, if that. I think it was a drawer gun.
He wanted $530 which is about what they go for on GunBroker (plus shipping and FFL fees).
I offered $350. He said "no". I walked.
Passed by again (he was at a corner table) and he offered $475. I countered with $375. He said "no". I walked.
Saw him once more about 45 minutes later....he offered $400. I offered $399. He looked at me and smiled and the deal was done.
Private sale. (Which was good because NICS was down most of the afternoon).
Cash talks.

Transparent
Odd.
Seems that the State Department isn't gonna release the "recovered" emails from Hillary's server until after the election.
I doubt it will make any difference....those who are gonna vote for her won't care....and the rest of us won't vote for her no matter what.
But still.

This could be a deal breaker for me:
Third party is is then...
Trump "Praises 'Stop-and-Frisk' Police Tactic".
Sorry, I can't support this. Not at all. The Constitution is what it is....It applies to everyone. scumbag or not...Joe clean or Tyrone the Ghetto Rat.....Whigger wannabe or Jose the Vato. No matter who it is, the Fourth Amendment applies:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The Constitution comes as a package deal. All or nothing.
If Trump can't get that message, then he isn't my man, and won't get my support.

Tonight oughta be "interesting"
If you are in Puerto Rico, at least.
Seems the power generating/distribution company that covers most of Puerto Rico had a MAJOR fault....and a substation caught fire at a substation, leaving the majority of the island without power.
Tonight oughta be interesting for the poor folks living there. I bet it gets....."sporty" in some neighborhoods tonight. And maybe tomorrow night.
As a side note, seems that a small, but significant, number of hotel and other businesses that had generators never balanced them, nor did proper preventative cleaning/maintenance on them....and they caught fire under load....which is a lesson we can ALL learn from.

'tis odd:
See, many years ago, there was this thing they did called "Lynching" wherein a man (apparently often black) was accused of a crime and then, without a trial, often on sketchy evidence, was hanged...often after being beaten by a crowd.
Black people still see a noose as a sign of lynching, and often want nooses removed from Halloween display and such (even though they want free speech and such).
Yet, what do they do when a black man is shot....especially by a policeman (no matter what HIS race).....
Yep, they jump to conclusions....they assume the man shot was innocent, and that the officers had no reason to shoot. Further, they rely on statements posted on social media, with absolutely no verification that the statements are true...Since it is a cop that did the shooting, it must be racial....it must be unjustified.....and they don't wait for the evidence to show what happened, but jump to a conclusion.... Truly, a lynching...only the violence happens later that night....Which often leads to a riot..... "Civil Disobedience"...often becomes an excuse to loot. (and they wonder why no one wants to invest or start businesses in their neighborhoods?)
What I find odd is that it is always black crowds that exhibit such behavior....not whites, not asians nor orientals....no latins, nor any other racial group. Why is that? And why do the police and the city leadership allow it to happen?
Yes, I know, pointing this out makes me a "Raciss". Don't care. Not anymore.
You can't blame it on Poverty either....Lots more white folks live below the poverty line, yet they don't riot....(and they generally obey the police and don't do anything stupid when caught or stopped, and therefore don't get shot as often either...)

Ain't no Gass ....How you gonna get to work, man?
Lots of folks have no backup and are wondering if they will be getting to work tomorrow and through the week...
And this is just ONE pipeline. A big one, and it carries gasoline exclusively, but still. Lots of folks being affected by ONE pipeline.
How much do you stock for happenings like this?
I have enough to last us 3 weeks plus or minus. At normal rates of consumption. Plus the truck...diesel there and I have about 6 weeks or so with that vehicle. And those are without any conservation efforts.
Think about it.

Not
The bombs detonated and/or found in NY, New Jersey and such are "intentional" (duh) but ARE NOT TERRORISM....
Of course they are fucking terrorism, you idiot. Who, exactly, is the terrorist remains open to investigation, but it most definitely was "Terrorism".

It all comes down
To who counts the votes.
Everything else is just Window Dressing.
"Critical Infrastructure".
Seems to me that it is the purview and responsibility of the states....No one else. ESPECIALLY not the Obama Administration.
Those who cast the votes decide nothing.
Those who count the votes decide everything.

Apparently they have never heard of Prohibition."

I was on my way to work when the first plane hit....... We were gonna get an early start on sealing a parking lot.....try to get some work done before it was too hot.
Surely just a terrible accident...?
Then the second one hit.... and the fires grew...We all watched in terrible fascination on the TV as the towers fell and 3000 or more of our countrymen and women died.
I told the kids watching with me that what they had just witnessed would change the world and our country....and that whether we realized it or not, we were at war....
I was right.
That day changed the way we travel, and gave terrible powers to our government. It took a few months, but the enemies of freedom were waiting, and took advantage of those events to fundamentally change our country.
It showed us the hatred Islam has for the Culture here in the West...in the US in particular. It brought to the forefront that a person cannot be US citizen and a good Muslim.
It gave us the Patriot Act....a lie if ever there was one. It spawned an ever growing Surveillance State...and began conditioning the public to always being watched....and to allowing their freedoms to be temporarily bypassed in the name of "security".
It also made me proud of my countrymen.....we didn't massacre other Arabs...nor chase anyone wearing a hijab or speaking with a Pakistani accent out of town. Yes, life was uncomfortable for those folks for a few days..., but in other places they would have been dead hours after.....Americans held to the American values.....and treated immigrants correctly and with honor.
********************************************
There are still a lot of questions about who was involved in the attacks....yes, we know about Mohammed Atta and his co-conspirators....but were there more? Were the Saudis involved? (Probably.....at least some in the government were) was it a conspiracy with the Bush administration? Maybe (but I doubt it....)
Either way, this attack opened the door to the fundamental changes that we, as a body, accepted in the behavior of our Government to the it's citizens.....
I may, someday, be able to forgive the Saudis or the Muslims for the attack on my country....and my fellow citizens.
I will never be able to forgive them for the changes they wrought in my country.
Ever.
I will never forget that Muslims everywhere cheered the damage done by the attack on my country. I will never forget the silence from the Muslim community here in the US, and I will never forget that the mosques in the US where the 9-11 terrorists worshiped had to know that they were planning something....and stayed silent. I will never forget that the Pakistani (Paahkistaahni? (Obamas pronunciation)) government was complicit in helping Osama Bin Laden hide for years. I may only be one person....But I and many of my countrymen share a remembrance of that day.
You should too.
Never forget.
Ever.

Dick:
Y'know, when you meet a cop on the road, it is a crapshoot as to whether your day will improve or devolve..... depends on whether he will be a good cop or not:
Ferinstance:
So I leave the homestead the other day to go run errands in the late morning......a wonderful bright, sunny day. Upon my return, I see, about a half mile from my driveway (past my driveway),a box trailer sorta katywampus across the road. Being the nosy person that I am, I drive the car down to see what is going on. I stop behind the trailer and turn on my flashers and get out.
I find a young man, 20something, trying to find a way to get the tongue of the trailer off the ground. Apparently, when he hitched it up, he didn't get the fork of the hitch under the ball, and it bounced off the trailer ball (or he didn't latch it) and was now resting on the ground...(good thing he attached those safety chains!). The problem was that the trailer jack was one of those "swing away" types, and there was no way he could lift the tongue of the trailer up enough to get it to flip down. I tried to help him, but it was too heavy for the two of us to lift.
Being the helpful sort that I am, I told him I'd be right back, and to disconnect the remains of the safety chains and damaged wiring and move his truck forward about 30 feet....and I turned the car around and went back home. Went inside and got the key to the Kubota and fired it up. Put a chain in the bucket and drove to where the trailer was. I did turn on my LED strobe to enhance visibility....
Hooked the chain to the tongue of the trailer, put it on the hook on the bucket and lifted....Not.
I'm not sure if he had the trailer loaded wrong, or if his load had crashed forward, but my tractor wouldn't lift the tongue....2400 lbs is what the tractor will pick up with the bucket, and the trailer wasn't budging. So I unhooked the chain and turned the tractor around so I could lift using the three-point hitch on the back (4800 lbs capacity). As I was turning the tractor around and backing up, I see a cop car behind the trailer.
Up walks a county cop. He beckons me off the tractor and is yelling at the kid as I get off. He starts in on youngblood, telling him he is causing a traffic hazard (what, like people haven't been slowing and then going around us?....some even offered to help) and telling him he is gonna get a ticket for blocking the road and when the kid answered him back, he mentioned "disturbing the peace" and something about "Traffic hazard"...
"Hey, brother," I said "if you'll wait about 4 minutes, we can get this thing hooked up and get him off the road, and then you can yell. If you are really worried about safety, why dontya turn on your lights so people will see us sooner? "
He told me his name wasn't "brother" and I could address him as "officer"...and offered to arrest me for "interfering with a police officer" and something else that I don't remember. and a ticket for not having proper safety equipment or something....and demanded my ID. I refused. Firmly.
I actually smiled. "Sure thing, son...Your game, you call the rules...Except you will address me as "Sir" from this point on....Oh, and another thing...(I kinda got in his personal face space here) "Officer":.... "Supervisor" .... Now.... You call one to this location on your radio, or I do it on my phone. And get out of the way.". I climbed onto the tractor. I was shaking, I was so mad.
He stood there, in my way, talking on the radio.
I resisted the urge to move him with the bucket, and waited.
Sure enough, about 5 minutes later, another county car arrived and pulled up behind everyone and another , somewhat older, cop got out (he, at least, turned on his lights). I got off the tractor, and walked up. Young cop tells his story, young man nods and answers a question, then I stated my piece. I asked where county cops get off being dicks and hindering rather than helping or at least staying out of the way...I pointed out that I would have had the whole thing fixed and off the road if young stupid cop had just gotten out of the way as I suggested and I didn't appreciate being talked to and threatened the way I had been. I said I wanted to make a claim for intimidation and threatening. I pointed out that he had been an ass, and had wasted time, if there really had been a danger to the public he had made it last longer.
Old cop, the supervisor, took a look...then he helped me hook up the chains and directed me in lifting the trailer. He himself put the jack down and unhooked the chains. He directed me backwards to hitch to the trailer.. I suggested to the kid that we pull the trailer to my house and we could straighten the hooks enough that they would be safer. ...and legal. (and pointed (loudly) out that if he wasn't legal the first cop was dick enough and would no doubt LOVE to arrest him or at least give a ticket...)
So the Supervisor asked me if I would let him handle the youngasshole cop. I said sure, but this shit has to be dealt with. I didn't appreciate being threatened with arrest for trying to help, and I didn't like his attitude or the fact that he made a simple thing take longer....and he didn't even make the scene safer by turning on his lights.
"Yeah, I can handle him," he said, "or you can make that complaint. But he will like it less if I handle it unofficially....He really is a good officer, he just has bad days sometimes".
I suggested that if he has days like this, over something that is this minor, perhaps he shouldn't be a cop.......Which didn't go over well. But he did promise to counsel the other cop.
So supervisor makes the young cop "escort" me and the kid back to my driveway...for "safety"...on foot! and walk back. In the sun. They stood on the side of the road for about 20 minutes when kid got back to the two cop cars, talking and sometimes waving their arms a bit.
Supervisor shows up at my driveway while I am helping the kid get his chains fixed and the wiring repaired enough to be legal. At my suggestion, the kid opens up the trailer to pull some of the cement bags back from the front. Supervisor and I talk for a few.....I pointed out that isn't normal behavior for a cop, and that young cop has, apparently, authority issues (I did use the phrase "Respec Ma Autoriteh!" which brought a smile,) and maybe anger management issues.
I asked him how someone like that can become a cop? No psychological screening? And perhaps the kid needed to learn the difference between some gangbanger kid he'd pulled over at 2 AM and someone like me in the middle of the day...older and wiser and not someone who can be can be leaned on or threatened... and suggested that the kid cop either learn how to handle people or someone like me was gonna run his ass over or shoot his ass someday....which also didn't go over well. But the point was made. We shook hands and he left. Kid cop was long gone by then.
I dunno. Haven't seen the kid cop since though.
I still wonder if I should have made a complaint though....or at least a report.

Readiness checks
So on Labor day (among others), I always take an hour and fire up the Backup Generator...just to lube the internals and make sure it is ready to go when it is needed.
Like a carry gun or a fire extinguisher, you don't need 'em until you really need 'em.
So I take the time to fire it up, make sure the internals are lubed and operated long enough to warm it up and dry it out, and spend a few minutes with an oil can making sure that things that move are lubed with clean oil. Check the air filters for mice and other things which might clog or otherwise hinder the operation. Cooling vents are clear and unobstructed and everything is ready.
All good this time. Ready to go, and it fired up nicely. Should do what I need when I need it.
When was the last time you checked your generator?

Point of view for the week:
"I have been criticized by referring to our federal masked men as “ninja” … Let us reflect upon the fact that a man who covers his face shows reason to be ashamed of what he is doing. A man who takes it upon himself to shed blood while concealing his identity is a revolting perversion of the warrior ethic. It has long been my conviction that a masked man with a gun is a target. I see no reason to change that view."

It's here!
Well, now, you just don't see that every day....
I ordered 2 tri-axles of stone to be delivered today. One for my driveway (which has needed stone for 5 or 6 years, and one for the road I am finishing to my barn. After 16 years, the fill has finally stopped settling, and I am willing to put some stone on it so that I don't have to drive in mud.
So the first load was delivered. at 6:30 AM. I spent about 3 hours carefully spreading it, making sure the drainage was good, and carefully filling in the edges.
The other load wasn't delivered until 4:15 PM.
The driver backed carefully down the lane, and set his chains to tailgate it out along the lane.
He lifted the dump box. Higher. Higher yet. Even higher.....then, at the top of the lift, he jerked the truck forward just slightly to make the stone slide....the whole load slid back. All at once. The truck did a wheelstand. No shit, I could have walked under the front wheels. For a second, I thought the thing was gonna tip over. All the weight was on the passenger side rear wheel.
He ever so gently let the dump box back down. The truck slowly came back to earth. Pretty smooth, actually.
He finished the job, but the stone just wouldn't slide out smoothly. Instead of a smooth road, it's a series of hills. (I'm gonna work the Kubota tomorrow).
He pulled back to level ground and inspected the truck. No damage (except to the driver's seat) and some new handprints on the wheel. Permanent ones....
The spring on the back was....compressed. Enough to have flexed all of the paint and concreted stone off of it.
I've never seen a dump truck with it's wheels that high before. Neither had the driver....
Kinda like this:
Only uphill and on ONE Rear Wheel.

Yeah, that's scary right there.....
So the Department of Homeland Security, staffed and led by Obama appointees, is worried about election fraud (yeah, that pegged my Irony Meter...) and would like to federalize the election process...
(One wonders why they haven't been worried about vote fraud until now.....at least not since the Florida Bush/Gore debacle...and that only because it appeared that bush was winning)
Yeah, Trump is gonna have to beat Hillary above and beyond the Margin of Fraud as it is....
I trust my government not at all in cases like this.

What caliber for Drone?
If you are a good shot....then apparently .410 with 7.5 birdshot works well.
Woman shoots drone: “It hovered for a second and I blasted it to smithereens.”
I'm a terrible wingshooter. I doubt I could do this. I'm always late and low. the rifle shooter in me always squeezes the trigger too slowly.
At least she "recycled" the drone....

Y'know....
If flying the American flag here is the US is too provocative to students of islamic or (especially) mexican/latin origin.....the fuck you. Go back the the country to which you claim allegiance.
You are here, in the US. Our flag is the symbol of the US...not Mexico. If you don't like that symbol, you are welcome to leave.
And for those who would apologize for the flying of the US flag IN THE US? You can leave too. If you are ashamed of the Flag and what it stands for, you probably would want to leave. If a school administrator feels that he can ban the flag because it might hurt the feelings of the mostly hispanic opponent of his school, then perhaps his fitness for his position should be investigated. (Possibly his fitness for any job that pays more than minimum wage, in fact). What kind of example does he think he is setting for his students?...His US Citizen students, that is....

I was struck the other morning
Watching the "news" on CBS....
That the entire network has abandoned all pretense of impartiality and non-partisanship, and has opened the doors to being in the tank for Clinton....or at least entirely anti-Trump.
The failure of the news media to be anything more than propaganda....to be anything more than a stained reflection of the once mighty "Pravda"....That I found terribly saddening.

"Lets be more like the Norwegians...."
The Left seems to think they have all the answers...
So let us follow their lead and BUILD A BORDER WALL to keep out unwanted immigrants.

Y can't have it both ways....
Gotta feel sorry for the decent folks who just want to live in their h=neighborhoods.
But hey, the police aren't welcome.....until they are needed.
Baltimore residents BEG police to protect their neighborhoods.
Like the police are gonna do any more than they have to in those areas....The message was plain....
ETA: How long 'til the folks in Kansas City are crying for help too?

The day would have been a total loss....
as the Indy 1500 was a waste of time....certainly not worth the drive.
But.
We hooked up with Tam and Roberta and company.....and had lunch and great conversation.
Which paid the freight nicely.

Question for those who need epinephrine:
And are all up in arms about the fact that Mylan raised the pricing of their EpiPen epinephrine dispensing device:
While I realize that using the "EpiPen" is easy for those incidents where you are having a reaction, really, the "EpiPen" is designed for use by untrained people in an emergency....which daily or weekly or even monthly usage is not.
Why not purchase (or have your doctor prescribe) much cheaper bottles of epinephrine and some syringes? If you need epinephrine more than once or twice a year, this is the method that you should be using anyway.....People used to do this before the EpiPen was invented....
The cost is about a factor of 15 or 20 times less than the "EpiPen"....and the product is the same, just a less simple delivery system.
Then you wouldn't have to be all upset about the pricing on the "EpiPen"...Most of which you can blame on Obamacare.....But the Media didn't bother to tell you that, either....
I will be gone all weekend, so don't waste your time flaming me....I won't respond anyway. Yes, I know you need your 'pen. No, I am not a user of epinephrine....Yes, I am not a doctor. (Although I HAVE slept with a few....but not recently)..No, I have no idea how hard it is to be allergic to things...(and you have no idea what I am allergic to either) Yes, I am uncaring, ....No it doesn't bother me...........You SHOULD be saving money, and if Obamacare or other insurance didn't pay for it, and you had to pay for it yourself, you'd find cheaper solutions like the above... . You should be doing so anyway...Your DOCTOR should be telling you about these options....but he getsbribed encouraged to prescribe just one brand, and just one application device...Free market and all that.
And let's face it....if you are that allergic to the world, or are that poor at controlling your exposures to things which can put you into anaphylaxis, then you shouldn't leave the house at all....except maybe in a giant hamster ball..... or a moonsuit.

Yeah, you need to read this
(if you haven't already).
Fred on Milwaukee
Not sure if he is right. Not sure he is wrong, either.
The solution to their issues lies, not with the Government programs, not with whites paying the way (even more), but, like most solutions, lies within them....And they are, whether culturally or otherwise, unable to take the steps required to succeed.
My Paternal Grandfather said to me, back in the early 70's, before I could understand fully (I was, maybe, 10 years old), that Welfare would destroy the black race, the black culture, and the black family. It has. He was right. He also said that it would destroy whites too, when it was offered to them....See Appalachia for an example....
Grandpa was smarter than I knew.

"some assembly required"
Lamp post, RINO lawmaker, rope.
Republican state Sen. Jonathan Perry of the Vermillion-Lafayette area, announced he is working on legislation that could require training, certificates and a permit fee to allow these volunteers to get past law enforcement into devastated areas. He said some were turned away.
He should be strung up, beaten, then kicked in the jimmies until he sees the light.....
He apparently ran as a "Small Government Republican".
Bet he don't get re-elected...

Civil Unrest
Are you ready? Haveya thought it out? War Gamed it? Do you have a plan?
No matter where you live, it can, and might well ,happen. Having a plan, is better than not having a plan. While no plan ever is perfect, and conditions change that you cannot plan for, having a plan helps.
This is a good place to start that planning.

If a Vegan does Crossfit what do they tell you about first? Unless they are Gluten Intolerant.....

Have ya noticed
That, while the Press has continued to push the "Zika Virus is a threat" meme...(which it may be, but will likely fizzle like West Nile did a few years ago) they have, at least for now, finally stopped pushing the "And it will make your Baby be born with a Tiny Head" meme?
Could it be because Zika, as such, won't? (as long as you don't use growth inhibitors in the drinking water to combat the mosquitoes, that is)?
I guess that the fearmongering to get funding failed, Huh?

Could it be....?
That the memorials are turning black and getting covered by a black slime because of the evil that has infested the Capital of our country for so long?
I mean, think about it....Barry and William J Clinton were bad enough....GWB was, at best, neutral (definitely not a good)...Add in all those corrupt and evil senators and congresscritters from BOTH parties.....
Is it any wonder that the evil is seeping out of the stones?

On this day, 1992
We found out just how much we can trust our government.
The US Marshals Service, using information from the ATF (which had screwed up the case against Randy Weaver terribly, showing why they are referred to as '"F Troop" by other agencies) shot and killed the Weavers son....Starting a chain of events that led to the death of, not only his son(Sammy), but his wife, Vickie.
No one went to jail, at least not on the Government side, although many should have.
FBI shooter Lon Horiuchi, who killed Vickie was tried but not convicted of Murder. No other government official was ever charged, although many agents should be in jail today....and would be, were it not for the Federal whitewash conducted later.....
This is why I fail to trust my government (and add in Waco, TX and the Branch Davidians). Unaccountability, management from afar rather than by someone who is on the scene, and agents sworn to uphold the Consitution blindly following orders from people with an agenda and who are more concerned with managing a media than seeing Justice done.
I met Randy Weaver once, many years ago.....He was exonerated, and got a settlement from the Federal Government (which means the US taxpayers)...but no amount of money will ever fix him. He is a broken man, damaged beyond any hope of healing.
All because he got caught up in the ATF machinations to convict some Aryan Nations folks....In this case, his wife and son were collateral damage.
Never trust a Fed, or a policeman to do Justice first. They will follow orders, no matter what.
Consider this:
FBI Deputy Assistant Director Danny Coulson wrote a memo:
OPR 004477
Something to Consider
1. Charge against Weaver is Bull Shit.
2. No one saw Weaver do any shooting.
3. Vicki has no charges against her.
4. Weaver's defense. He ran down the hill to see what dog was
barking at. Some guys in camys shot his dog.
Started shooting at him. Killed his son. Harris did the
shooting [of Degan]. He [Weaver] is in pretty strong legal position.
But the agents went ahead and did their thing anyway.....
Wanna learn more? Start HERE.
And this happened under a REPUBLICAN president......Waco, which happened under a Democrat president, was far worse...But it was the bureaucracy which killed those folks.....
Damned fundamentalist crazy folk clinging to their guns and religions.....
Don't forget this.....The people who were killed by the Feds...who were just trying to live their lives as they wished to under the rules of the Constitution, deserve better than that.

Preparing
So the German Government is PLANNING on a terrorist attack.
Planning. On. An. Attack.
And they say that the Citizens of Germany should plan for it too. Plan for a catastrophe that might require that they have 10 days (at a minimum) of food and water.
I'm thinking Chemical or Dirty Bomb sort of attack. ?.?
Yeah, bring some more un-vetted, un-sponsored, un-assimilated refugees to this country. We need more of that kind of threat here too....

When I find the asshole who....
Yeah, so the engine in the woodsplitter finally crapped out.
Not like it is a surprise, mind you....My brother and I bought the thing something like 19 years ago at an auction, and it had a bad motor then....at the same auction, there was a mower with the same Briggs and Stratton vertical shaft motor that was purported to run....So we bought the woodsplitter for a song and the mower (which had, IIRC, a broken axle) for even less.
Now, this woodsplitter was a project that someone had built....likely using parts and scraps from industry....maybe even from the steel mills in Gary (which wasn't unusual for the time and place that it must have been built)..Massive construction, much bigger than what is needed...huge forgings cut down to make 'em fit, etc. Interesting "engineering" in some places....Like a 5" diameter hydraulic cylinder. (This thing will split oak SIDEWAYS...against the grain)....Yet the wedge guide is 3/64" X 1" angle....odd.
So, anyway, 19 years (more or less) ago I put a used engine of unknown hours on this woodsplitter. And it worked for all that time....and worked well.... until about 5 years ago. Then it began "clanking" when cold...but I'd just let it warm up a bit longer and run it. Warm, it ran fine...It never ran well, but it always ran and it split wood very nicely.....
In preparation for the day it finally died, I did buy a 12 hp vertical shaft Briggs & Stratton engine about 4 years ago from a guy I knew who was parting out an old Cub Cadet lawn mower....Same engine "family" so I figured it would bolt right up when the time came....
Every year, I'd debate "Should I put the "new" motor on this winter, or will the old motor last another year....?
For 4+ years, the old motor "clanked", each year getting a bit worse.... but it ran. Since it wasn't broke enough, I never fixed it....
This last Monday, it fired up in the usual way, being obstinate and cantankerous, but finally starting. It ran for about 30 seconds...then it went "clank!" and ceased to turn.
At all.
Not even a little bit.
Tight.
Locked up tighter than Ahmed's virgin goats on Payday in Syria....
So, I towed it to the shop, scraped 19 years of oily dirt off of the thing, and began the disassembly process.
Wasn't difficult, really. While it hadn't been disassembled in nearly 20 years, neither had it been uncovered and out in the rain. Not much rust, and most of the bolts were covered with a slight sheen of oil from the gently leaking Briggs motor. (It never leaked much, but it always leaked...Like a half a pint a year or less).
So I pulled the wiring and the linkages and fuel lines and such and then lay down under the frame and put a deepwell socket and ratchet on the bolts holding the motor to the frame with a box wrench on the top and began to turn....Now, the first two are easy, as they are easy to reach. The third one less easy, as the ergonomics make reaching bolt above and below the frame ...interesting. But I was able to get my hands in the right place and break that bolt loose as well.
The fourth one required a bit of interesting positioning...One cannot see either the bolt or the nut, and must do both the top side and underneath by feel...... and I cursed the microcephalic, motherless, inbred, hermaphroditic, slimy redneck asshole who, instead of using a 5/16 bolt (1/2 inch wrench) had used an 8 mm bolt (12 MM wrench.) I tried and tried and tried and TRIED to get that half inch wrench to fit..... it wouldn't hold, kept slipping off. Same underneath.....The socket just wouldn't quite fit properly..... I finally figured it out and planned my revenge (think baseball bats and dark alleys and suchlike) on whichever asshole who had set such a trap.....Only to realize that the engine had been set in place by ME and hadn't ever been off of the frame since then.....at least as far as I know, anyway. Perhaps gremlins. Yeah, that must be it....
(I usually am not afraid to cobble something together when needed, but I (generally) go back and do it right if it is gonna be kept in use and not just temporary.....I honestly don't remember using a metric bolt when assembling the splitter....But I must have?).
I did, however, punish myself....I mashed the shit out of my hand when picking the motor up off the frame, so I got my own revenge upon myself.....
The reassembly went fast, as the motors were the same "family" and used the same mounting holes, same shaft size, same carb, same wiring, etc. (I did go buy 4 new bolts all the same size....I will likely never have to pull the motor again, but some poor dude may). New fuel lines and everything else hooked up fine.
It runs like a champ. Smoother, and with 2 HP more. I split 2 ricks in about an hour.

So where are the rest?
Taylor Swift donates 1 million dollars to flood relief for the folks in Baton Rouge.
The general area is, of course, about 50% black....
So ONE white entertainer has donated some cash. I think that is good....It'd be nice to see more...
But where are all the black entertainers? The folks that, you know, make money off of black people.....
And, again, where is Black Lives Matter? If 10% of the folks who can march in support of a criminal who gets shot by a police officer would decide to donate his or her time to help clean up after the flood, that'd be a decent example, now wouldn't it.
But they won't, and the Entertainers won't either.....Few white ones and I will bet ZERO black ones. At least they haven't yet..

equal protection under the law....
Unless, of course you were Secretary of State..friends with the Prezident and likely have significant dirt on him and his wife...And apparently the Attorney General...
Then you can, of course, skate on failing to properly handle classified material.
Of course, if you are a sailor, and a relative Nobody...then you get prosecuted and sentenced. He did get significantly less than he could have gotten, but still...... Hillary did worse, and more, and more often. And she skated with no punishment.
One wonders exactly what leverage she has and on whom she has it?

NNothin' to see here
Move along now, folks.
RCMP part of probe into crash involving plane stolen from Toronto-area airport.

True
I've said it before...the issue is the people...

Except it takes less attention span to do a protest (and it is fun and a community like event) and is relatively safe.. and cleaning the neighborhood takes time, and work, and might be dangerous.
(ETA: And if they really cared about "Black Lives" they'd be using that organization to fundraise and recruit help for those folks (mostly black) who were flooded out.) But they Don't Matter 'cause it won't make other black people angry....)

Another Wikileaks "suicide"
Odd:
John Jones 48, one of Britain’s top human rights lawyers, who represented Julian Assange was killed last Monday, when he was run over by a commuter train. The death is being called a suicide.
Oddly the Police in Britain see "nothing suspicious" about this...
Associating with Julian Assange is nearly as dangerous as doing business for Hillary Clinton, it would seem.

I'm sure that I am not the target market...
But the semi hipster faggotty TVspokesperson for Chevy leaves me wanting to buy another brand.
Especially the Chevy Truck commercials.
Aren't aimed at people who DO things for a living, obviously. I guess those folks who use trucks for what they are for buy Ford or Dodge or Toyota. The poseurs apparently buy Chevy Trucks.

Interesting correlation:
You should read THIS...and follow the links. Especially THIS ONE
This is an indictment of a subset of our population, but that doesn't make it untrue. It may be uncomfortable for many to contemplate, but that doesn't change the evidence. Really, it trashes the social programs that attempt to push people out of poverty. In reality, these programs just redistribute crime to other parts of the cities. Not that this is a surprise to anyone with observational skills. Cops know it, the people in those neighborhoods soon learn...Lowlifes are still lowlifes. Being black just makes their contribution to the problem more obvious.
The fact is that a subset of our population commits more crimes than others. And that they have different lifestyle choices that make them targets of our police....because they commit more crimes, they are more likely to be pulled over and investigated by police....and their behavior after that leads to them being pursued and possibly shot and killed
This shows that the nice houses, the nice cars and the more prosperous lifestyle is a result of culture and decisions that are made every day.....moving poor people to a more prosperous and crime free neighborhood doesn't change who they are. It doesn't bring them up to the neighborhood standards of living, nor does it change their decisionmaking nor their lifestyle nor their culture....nor their way of life......
It merely brings the neighborhood down a notch or two, and brings crime from one area to another.
People are the problem. Poverty is because of the choices they make and the life they lead, not because of where they live. Moving people doesn't change things....They bring their problems with them. People get the community they accept.... And accepting certain behavior in a community leads to more of that behavior. Whites do it too, but to a lesser percentage. Hispanics too, but to a lesser extent. Those communities seem to stop at a certain level of crime and refuse to allow it to go any further. At a certain point, people step up and do something, even if it is to involve the police and cooperate with them. Whites and Hispanics and other cultures seem to have a level of crime that is self correcting at some point.
Poor Black people of a certain subculture cause this. Not all, but many. You can't change them, they have to change themselves.Exporting them to another area doesn't fix the main issue. Putting them in a different area doesn't fix the culture. It just exports crime. Then folks of a better class move out....no matter what their color. Rather than bring people up, they bring the neighborhood DOWN.
Yes, I know, pointing this out makes me a racist. So be it.

Question for our DNC brethren:
Since it is an election year, I keep hearing about the "Rich" being required to pay their "Fair Share".
Please, define what a "Fair Share" is. Use a percentage of income, or a dollar amount or something. Be. Specific. But define it, so the rest of us will know what you are talking about.
What, exactly, do YOU mean when you say "Fair Share"? (We all know a Democrat Politician means anyone but the audience to whom she is speaking )...But seriously, tell me what you mean by "Fair Share".....and while we are at it, Please define "Rich" too. .....
Why should a rich man pay more than a poor man? They each use the same amount of government....Really, most of the time, a "poor" man uses more...
And a poor man seldom creates a job for anyone.

AAnd my other brother...
Today is the anniversary of another trip around the sun for him.
Not quite as old as myself or the brother from a few days ago, nonetheless we have all seen a few years pass by.
Happy birthday, youngest brother.

coinkidink?
Odd
Could happen just because...Sometimes things just happen.
But seldom do they just happen in Politics.
Read.
Think.

"Only whites can be racist"
Remember?
Except for when things like THIS happen...
(Can't seem to find proof that this video is indeed legit and came from the riot(s) in Milwaukee, so take it for what it is worth. )..
ETA: (Ok, Breitbart has a different version, so apparently it is legit (sorry CC))..and notice that even the lady at the end says "this ain't right"....But rioting poor black people have no brain or conscience....

So where are the Black Lives Matter people?
'cause here is another young Black Man with a future who was gunned down on the south side in the early morning hours.
Of course, he wasn't "gunned down" by a police officer, and the likely perpetrator is black.
But that shouldn't concern anyone, as the fact is that they claim that the lives of black me are supposed to matter.
But those lives Don't Matter unless it is a white cop that shoots them....
Gotta have something to "stir up the crowd" ya know....Make sure they vote early (and often) for the Democrats....

Bro.
Half century and all that now...
If you were a car, you'd be listed as a "classic".

No blacks allowed
"I don't want to have any black folks as a roommate"
"We need white only spaces where only whites can congregate"
“Black people have cause [sic] so much mf [sic] trauma on these campuses … why in the world would I want to live with that? Bring that into my home? A place that is supposed to be safe for me?”
Yeah, sounds racist to me too.
Except for the fact that the races are reversed....
Students advertise for black only roommates.
Can you imagine the crying, screaming, and charges of "Raciss" if a white student had advertised for "No niggers"? The schools would have likely tossed him/her out...But not when the races are reversed....
Odd how the black people think this one is OK though, innit?

Training fail
In the classes I teach, every firearm is checked by TWO people before class to make sure they are unloaded and safe. Further we don't allow any live ammunition in the classroom.
We only use Simunition or other training aids that are clearly marked as training, with colors.
Just top prevent this sort of scenario.
Woman killed by cop in classroom training accident.
This is fail in so many levels.
But we need to keep guns out of the hands of amateurs, and only in the highly trained cops hands....

Losing your bid for Prezident is
apparently profitable?
Bernie buys $600K summer home.
Paid cash, too...
Note that this is TWICE the value of their first home.
Just Sayin'....

Where are the marchers?
Why aren't they marching in the streets and disrupting traffic? How about protesting at the headquarters?
Making speeches?
I mean, when a young boy (3 years old) is shot in the back and paralyzed from the waist down......One would think that the protests would be loud and intense and very very large.....
Especially when the young boy is black.
Except it wasn't a cop. It was a gang member. Shooting at the young man's father. (who also appears to be a gang member of a rival gang)
Both the shooter and the father and the young man are black also.
But, because the shooters are not cops, the community ignores the shooting. No one is trying to do anything about the black violence when it is gang related. The Black community could do a lot to fix the gangs, most easily by shutting down the drug markets that fund them....all they have to do is have about 10% of those folks who march every time a black man is shot by a cop to show up with cameras and video recorders at the drug markets.....if there are enough of them, the gangs will leave....and the customers will too.... the next night, do it again. And again. And again.
The fact that no one cares about Devon Quinn shows the hollowness of the Black Lives Matter movement. The cheapness of their commitment.
How much of a life is young Devon gonna have? Does his life matter?
Or is BLM just really a politically driven DNC operative directed Anti-Cop movement?

Don't black lives matter?
This happened.
But there is no protests, no cries for lynching,....no cries for "justice"....Black Lives Matter isn't organizing.
Because the dude was likely executed by.....another black criminal (The deceased was a gang member and a criminal....Probably picking up his string after they were done working the streets.....)....But he was black, and wasn't killed by a cop, so He Doesn't Matter.

They conveniently forget.....
So Paul O'Neil was shot and killed by a Chicago Police officer. He got shot AFTER BEING CAUGHT DRIVING A STOLEN JAGUAR and TRYING TO RUN A ROADBLOCK.
Thing is, this didn't happen to folks like my niece and nephew...they didn't start the process by getting a bunch of police chasing them.
Perhaps once one officer used his pistol to try and stop Mr. O'Neil and the other police overreacted and used theirs just because one officer had....And it would seem that they shot him in the back ('Twould seem that once they heard gunshots they just assumed that some had come from the fugitive Mr. O'Neil...so they assumed he was armed)
But the fact remains that Paul O'Neil started the whole business by stealing a car. Tens of Thousands of kids in Chicago and other areas didn't do this. All those kids didn't get in trouble They didn't interact with the police in a negative way....they didn't break the law....They didn't boost a car, and drive it around. They didn't run when confronted by a cop. They didn't drive at cops at a roadblock with a 3000 pound vehicle.
The Press seems to forget that. They forget that the kid was, at the heart of it, a criminal.....All they can do is fan the flames when a black man is shot by cops...who was, apparently without a gun....unarmed? That depends on your definition.
But he wasn't a choir boy....they seems to forget that.
Live by the sword......

So, I have a question:
Are those two Sheriffs Deputies in Idaho still alive and unharmed?
I mean, since there is no Rule of Law anymore in Adams County and all....
Or are they the more equal animals, and therefore safe? ? (or are the citizens of Adams County Idaho just that kind of Good Citizens?)
Just curious.

Wow. what a chore
So, being gone for a week, and having a sorta house sitter who isn't gun trained, we had to sanitize the house.
Normally, there are only two of us living here, both shooters, and we have firearms laying around in nearly every room (hidden, of course, but still....).
So when we left, we had to sanitize the house. Clean up, as it were. All firearms had to be pulled from their ready storage places, unloaded and placed in a safe (which is, in reality, way too small for this).
So, of course, when we got back, we had to reverse the process....
Magazines replaced, rounds loaded, firearms reholstered and put into their appropriate places....
Took a while, actually.

Sunday Morning Propaganda
So Good Morning America (CBS) is running a morning propaganda campaign about guns. (Episode 213) Over an hour of slanted reports....From the US, from Australia (WTF???) all carefully crafted and rehearsed....
Of course, they pretend it is a reasonable, calm, discussion, but it is very well crafted to highlight the negatives....the terrible damage of handguns. The sinister, hidden dangers, etc. Biased doesn't begin to describe it....
Using government controlled and licensed airwaves, to privately disseminate propaganda.....
And no one will state the truth: That there are two minority ethnic groups that perpetrate the majority of gun violence. In fact, there is one that is about 18% of the population that perpetrates nearly 70% of the violence. And that it is almost all in inner cities.
But that isn't relevant, now is it?
