Interesting

Very, very, INTERESTING.

Yet there have been no arrests, no extradition attempts, no questioning, apparently no investigation.... nothing.

Makes one wonder.

Sanity breaks out in the most unexpected places:

So this teacher was suspended for telling a Mexican Immigrant Hispanic student who was disruptive to "go back to Mexico".

The uproar from the citizens was significant and vocal.

So they decided to reinstate her..."They" being the school board. The board did so over the strong objections of the pro Hispanic folks...Including the pro illegal immigrant local LULAC office.

I am impressed that the school board showed some balls intestinal fortitude and stood up against a loud outcry from a minority group.

We need more like this, not less. We need people to be told that they have to bend to the rules of this country and to the culture. Assimilate to this country, not the other way around. Understand that while this country should understand the culture of it's immigrants, and offer some accommodation, tit is the responsibility of the immigrant to adjust and accommodate and assimilate to this country.

Now that she's done enough damage...

The RINO Olympia Snowe has decided to not run for office again.

If only she had done so one term before this, we might not have had Obamacare and the rest of the liberal legislation for which she voted.

The Republican Party should have disowned her long ago.

Good riddance.

And just in case yer blood pressure is too low

You need to read this.

Think about it.

Angry yet?

The judge should be horsewhipped.
Then thrown out on his ass and banned from ever doing anything in the judiciary ever again.

This is how the invasion happens. Slowly, gently, and remorsely. This is, sadly, precedent setting.
Next time it'll go just a bit farther.

Question: Next time a man or woman who appears to be Muslim (or any other religion or culture...like, say, a White Supremacist?) does something which offends my sensitivities, can I beat them? If so, how badly? (not that I want to, and I was raised better than that, but still...) I mean, the judge has set a precedent here....If someone does something that goes against my culture, and which I find offensive, I get to beat them up too, right?

I mean, we are all equal under the law, right?

I expect the rioting to tear Pakistan apart

Once they find out about THIS.
Except they won't.
Double standards and all that.

I mean, their own people tossing Korans into sewer laden water.....

Ya gotta give the guy credit for doing what he does though. He lives the word he preaches. I can respect that, as opposed to the bullshit we usually see.

If you haven't seen this

Then you should.

Likely, if you read me, then you read Borepatch. (If you don't, you should). His site can be found over on the left side there, towards the top. I highly recommend you make him be a part of your daily read.

Anyway, take the time to watch this. Get yourself a cup of coffee, or your favorite adult beverage or whatever. It takes about 30 minutes, but it is, I promise you, worth the time.

You'll see another example of why I believe that Mr. Obama is actively trying, not just failing through incompetence, to hurt this country. Why I gotta wonder if he's a plant, trying to help destroy the country economically like the Russian/Soviet plants in the British government in the 60's and 70's who so effectively harmed that once proud and great country into the sad reflection of greatness it is today.

While I am not a great big fan of Newt, I gotta say that he hit it out of the park with this one.

You have until March First

Do you use google?

Do you like your privacy.?

It may be that the two (google and privacy) are incompatible.

Here is a link to an article about how to clear your Google History, and somewhat disable the collection of future data.

Big Brother is watching.

Help a brother out.

Read the story on this dude.ETA: More details HERE.

Think. All his shit is gone. Everything he owned. All of it. He got the shaft by his local police, prosecutor and courts, and then again by his landlord.(Not to mention his neighbors).

It could be one of us that gets screwed.

I read about this a week ago, but had no way to find him to send him a little cash to help. But someone else has done the homework, and therefore I do have an address. I'm gonna give the guy just a little bit of help. And if you can, I'm gonna urge you to do the same.

Jay Rodney Lewis
C/O Westminister Presbyterian Church
4114 Allson Ave.
Des Moines IA 50310

I'm putting a couple of "Jacksons" in the mail tomorrow. If enough of us do so, it'll be a nice foundation to help this guy get a better start. I urge you to do the same. $20 will likely not break you, but enough of those and he'll be able to find a place, buy some clothes, and maybe even get a job....Start his life over...Hire a good attorney to sue the landlord, the DA, and maybe even the other folks in the car which caused the whole start of his troubles.

Or perhaps some dude to kick the DA repeatedly in the nuts. Maybe two guys.

Go, read all the links, then, if you can, send a bit of cash...

More quality examples

of people having their priorities screwed up.

Folks rioting over shoes again.

Take a look at the people in the video. Few, if any are likely to have jobs. Fewer yet can likely afford $220 dollar shoes. (unless they are selling crack or something).

Think these folks will be rational and civilized if and when?  Think you can appeal to their better nature? Think they'll "respec' " your property rights? Think they'll "axe" you for some of your stuff, or think they'll just try to take it?

Have a plan. Be able to defend what you have, so you can have it. Else folks like this will take it and step on you on the way out.

And lest you think I am racist, take a look at the very mixed crowd. It ain't about race, but about culture.

I bought a high power sniper rifle in a parking lot for cash!

Seriously, I did.

Sorta...

I had looked at a 1874 Sharps reproduction in 45-70 with Soule sight at the Valpo gunshow, but the seller and I couldn't find common ground on price. I thanked him for his time and walked away....One of my friends who was with me at the gunshow gave him my cell number and told him I was interested, and if he changed his mind to call me...

He did so several days later and agreed to sell me the Sharps at the last offer I had made.

So today, I picked the rifle up and paid him for it in a parking lot. He didn't want to tell me where he lived and he didn't want to come all the way to my home, so we met in a town and did the deal.

So yeah, I did buy a sniper rifle (in its day) for cash...in a parking lot. I hope the Brady folks heads explode at the thought that this could (and did) happen....

Anyone have any 45-70 ammo that they aren't using? It goes stale ya know....

I'm gonna have fun working up loads and (likely) learning to cast the big bullets that this gun will eat....I'm gonna have to reload so I can afford to feed it.

Maybe I can learn to shoot things at "One thousand yards" with it.....

See?: I tol ya

Sadly, even the economists and other "experts" say I was right.

Look: this is basic economics. More dollars means that each dollar is worth less. We have NOTHING to back up the paper that we, as a nation, print. Look at the price of oil (in dollars) vs the cost in gold. It isn't oil that is going up, it's the dollar going down.

And the market is seeing this, and responding.

Were it not for the fact that the oil producing middle east countries continue to price crude oil in dollars, we'd be even farther in the shitter.

Expect things to go even farther downhill as the world realizes that:

A. They don't need or want the dollar as long as we have ever increasing deficits
and
2. We aren't, in the near term, going to be fixing our financial issues as we continue the slide towards a Greece-like economy.
and
III. China stops buying our bonds as they deal with their own economic issues.
and
D: Gold is the only safe place to park your wealth
and
5. The price of oil, which is dependent on demand vs supply, will go up as the demand for fuel increases in the summer, and will likely go even higher this winter....
and
VI: Our current administration doesn't want to do anything to promote domestic supply sources, forcing us to use an ever-increasing portion of the dwindling world supply of oil.

Expect even higher food prices, and an increasingly damaged US economy as prices for everything go up as a result of increased fuel cost....Consumers will have less to spend on other things besides transportation and food, so they'll spend less on other goods, further damaging the economy.

And if OPEC chooses to take other currencies as a peg for the price of gold, our dollar plummets...like a pigeon having been handed a watermelon. With the same result, at the end.

Bet on it.

Prepare for it.

Figure out how to ride the storm out. It might be a long one.

Dick

Is a...well, a Dick.

And an asshole. And arguably the worst example of a GOP insider that you can find. I would not object if someone beat him senseless. (not that I am encouraging anyone to do so, that would be illegal...and I would hate to see anyone go to jail over him, he ain't worth it)

I urge any subject constituent of his to vote for anyone but him.

We might not get anyone better (and likely won't) but at least we will get rid of Dick.

And that cannot be a bad thing.Worst case we get a different flavor of asshole.

We can always vote his replacement out next term, if need be.

MLK would spit in his face

and rightly so.

Pissed posted this.

Pissed is right. If we had a GOP guy suggest that all of us white people band together and vote to get a white guy into office, the hue and cry would be loud and vicious. The press would crucify the guy. And rightly so.

But I bet you won't hear anything about it from the MSM. No bias there.

So much for Martin Luther King's speech..."I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." ...So much for that....Mr Obama is as racist as anyone he has accused of racism. Anyone who would vote for him because of his skin color or parentage (remember, he's half white) is as racist as the fools who vote against him because he's black.

IF only the press would treat him as critically as the others.

lies

Or at least twisting the truth.

The fact is that anyone in the US has access to "health care". Few have it freely given to them.

You can get health care....You just (generally) don't get it for free. It is accessible for nearly everyone.

You don't get cars for free, or bus passes. You don't get hamburgers for free (unless you are on EBT or other government programs). You can get food free from food pantries if they think you qualify.

You don't get clothes for free, unless you get the giveaways from charities.

If you are a liar part of the protected class, you can get a cell phone for free (paid for with our tax dollars).

The employed folks get health insurance as part of their compensation. It isn't "free"... they have to work to get it (unless you are a government worker, then sometimes the "work" is loosely defined....but I digress.... )

My point is that no-one is denied access to health care, it just isn't (generally) given to you freely. Like most things in life, you have to earn it...either as compensation from your employer or purchased on the open market.

Same with Birth Control. You know, that hot button topic for 99.768% of American women.

No one stops you from purchasing birth control. No one stops you from having an abortion. However, you shouldn't get that for free either. And I like the fact that it is hidden as "Wymyns Health Issues" rather than what it is...birth control. Who says all these things should be free? Where is your enumerated right to get these things given to you?

I am all for Birth Control. I think it is a good thing. But there is no "right" to free birth control. Nor any other medication. No right to cold medicine, nor high blood pressure medicine, nor asthma medicine, nor drugs to help you with palsy or epilepsy, or for hair loss or erectile dysfunction. Sorry you have a problem. If you do, and your insurance plan covers it, more power to you. But realize that your employer and your fellow employees are paying for it. It isn't FREE.

There is a difference between stopping you from being able to access or purchase something, and not GIVING it to you. Just because you don't get free birth control and abortion on demand does not mean that anyone wants to enslave you, or to sew your "Hoo-Ha" shut. No one is forcing you to subjugate yourself to a man or any of the other rhetoric bullshit.

It.  Just.  Isn't.  Free.

What is next? Is the fact that I don't supply you with broadband at your home equated to "I don't want you to surf the internet"? Is the fact that I don't give you unlimited gasoline equated to "I don't want you to drive"? If I don't put food in your mouth equated to "I want you to starve to death"?

No one is supplying me with free hookers and booze, so I guess no one wants me to have any fun or be happy. And no one is giving you ladies chocolate-dipped strawberries and champagne and a massage, so I guess that the government doesn't want you to be happy. It's all the same logic.

No ONE is keeping you from accessing your birth control. What they ARE doing is preventing someone else (the federal government) from mandating that you get it for free. If you can get your employer to pay for it, fine, if not, then you get to choose. Pay for it yourself, or find an employer who will pay for it.

The leftists twist the meaning in an attempt to make you agree with them. They like stirring you up with words and phrases which have a high emotional content for certain groups. And many of your sisters are falling for it. They are using you to further their agenda. If they can get enough emotional women dancing around and screaming "keep your hands off my body!" then they cloud the issue.

Be smarter. Look beyond the words and see the meaning.

'cause otherwise you are a fool, and a tool and just plain idiot. Think. Don't let anyone lead you with high emotion words and phrases. Don't be a tool.

Because those kinds of people make me want to whack them on the kneecaps with a ball peen hammer. Just for being stupid.

I'd move to iceland

This is how the fed could have handled the banking crisis.

I'd move there except that I hate cold and I don't like fish that much.

The scenery is, I am told, nice though.

Dood. So not funny

I like my dentist. He and his staff are good people, easy to trust, always explain before performing a procedure, fun people with a good sense of humor. We get along, which is why I go back.

Usually.

So I am at the dentist's office. I go through the whole ringamarole, telling him why I am there, we do the exam, the x-ray, decide that we need to fill the cavity....

Shoot me up with Novocaine wait while it takes effect, etc.

So there I am in the chair, with a dental technician in attendance. Bite block in place, sucky hissy gurgling tube thingy keeping me from drowning in drool.

He enters the room, picks up the drill and mirror, leans in and says

"Where" "Are" "The" "Diamonds?"

Now understand, I am old enough to have seen Marathon Man in the theater when it first came out.

For just a moment, had I had a piece of coal in between my buttcheeks, I could have produced a diamond. Likely a really really good one.

As the moment passed, and he didn't drill into my front tooth, and I released my clench upon the bite block, I thought about killing my dentist slowly....

I was glad, however, that I had used the restroom just prior to entering his office.

I reached up, removed the bite block and said "Louie: Not. Funny".

He laughed. I laughed, still trying to figure if I would ever get my shorts out of my asshole.

The little 20 something dental assistant had No Idea what we were talking about.

At breakfast

With a bunch of friends.

Before going to the Valpo Gunshow.

If you have the time, and are in the area, or not too far from it, I highly recommend this show. And it raises money for a gun club to buy a bigger and better facility.

I'll be renewing my NRA membership there too.

'cause only police and government agents are safe with firearms......

Seems the ICE had a bad apple....

Look, I am not denigrating the ICE because this happened. They are likely, hard working people doing a shitty job, unsupported by our current regime administration.

But the fact is that this was a workplace shooting, and was stopped by another man with a firearm.

You or I could never have done anything to stop this, as we "not special" citizens would have had to disarm before entering the building..

One wonders how many more might have been killed had there not been a trained man with a firearm close by and willing and able to stop the shooter.

Despite all the Psych Testing and personality tests and all that, an agent lost his marbles, unhitched his cams, and went apeshit with a gun.

Can we allow the ICE agents to continue to carry?

Of course.

But not if we use the same logic the anti-gunners use against concealed carry and private ownership of handguns, then no, we shouldn't. We should, in fact, disarm them.

YOU

Should read THIS.

Think on it.

We shall see

I have recieved 5 or 6 calls people purporting to be performing surveys about issues important to citizens of Indiana.

In reality, it is an excuse to extoll the virtues of our friend and Senator, Dick Lugar.

These Faux surveys irritate me greatly. First of all, after the first one, I am aware that it is not, in fact a survey, but rather an attempt to influence my vote and tell me how "conservative" Mr. Dick is. I am already aware of how unconservative his voting record is.
I may well be stupid, but I am not that stupid to believe that the same call and survey format is something new and exciting rather than another faux survey. The fact that they think it will work again and again proves that they think that I am stupid.

2nd,  if Dick really cared about what was important to me, he'd have asked AFTER the last election, not just immediately before it so that he could tailor his lies speeches to tell me what I want to hear, rather than finding out what we wanted and vote accordingly, which he hasn't done in the past.

III. Dick's biggest issue is his history, and the fact that he ignores the wishes of his constituents until it is time to get re-elected. Actually, his biggest issue is that he is a Dick.

The "Friends of Dick Lugar" are pissing me off, because despite repeated requests, they refuse to stop calling me. I have already decided not to vote for him. Didn't last time either.

His opponent has major issues, but the one thing he has going for him is that he isn't Dick.

I still think we need to find a disgruntled international airline pilot for the next joint session.

Think about it.

I really wish he hadn't told me

A friend (lets call him Frank) and I were talking. He's a gunny. Knows a lot about a lot of things.... He's friends with a LOT of folks, and generally knows who is selling what, and for how much. A few months ago, ferinstance, I knew a guy who wanted to sell a 629, and called Frank to find out if he knew anyone who was looking for one. He and I put put a buyer and the seller together together and a deal was struck. Made two people happy, and banked a few favors for the future....Frank knows nearly every third person in the area, and has a handle on what is for sale too....

The problem is, of course, getting the information out there in a timely manner.....

I had been thinking about my "five" and decided to look into how much a Sharps would really cost me..(like a starting price for a new one in the $1800 range (plus sights and such), according to the internet, so it isn't gonna happen soon, I'll have to save my nickels for a while)..and what it would take to own one and the issues with it's care and feeding. I'd likely have to load my own in order to be able to afford ammo, and went to my friend to see if he had ever cast or loaded the large bullets that a 45-70 or a 45-90 eat and what the pitfalls might be....and what he knew about paper patching VS grease groove VS jacketed bullets, as he is fount of obscure knowledge...

He says to me...."I wish I'd have known you were interested....John just sold a C Sharps 1874 for $575...it was like new, maybe 20 rounds, but he needed the money and couldn't find anyone who was interested....so he sold it to Cabelas.....Shame, he had all the accessories. Bullet molds and cleaning kits, a nice fitted leather case...."

*Facepalm*.

*Headdesk*

$575.00....

*sob*

Shit.

Sigh.

I'd almost rather have not known about the "one that got away"....

Valentines day

Yer reading this, and you are either at home, or planning on going home.

Where you will either see your sweetie, or plan on seeing him/her soon.

or at least be able to call then...maybe SKYPE with them if they are traveling or for some reason not where you are.

Or you could be in a far off land, where the natives are hostile, and many people are trying to kill you.

Think about our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who are standing guard so we can live safely, and celebrate Valentines Day in relative safety.

And hold a thought for those who love those military folks, for they share in the sacrifice.

Thanks, folks.

And the ripple effects will be HUGE

Borepatch points out that Gas (and all other petroleum energy) is gonna skyrocket.

He's right.

But what he fails to mention is that the cost of energy is part of the cost of nearly everything you own, eat, or otherwise consume.

Food? Trucks, trains, boats and sometimes planes bring your food to your local store. Farmers burn diesel to plant that corn or wheat or soybeans, and to harvest it...and to put on that petroleum based fertilizer that increases their yields. (more yields means a somewhat lower price, just in case you are missing that point). Meat is gonna go up because, as corn goes up, therefore does the price to feed cattle....and it takes fuel to harvest  and haul the hay that is the other staple for cattle...and, of course, to transport those foods to the farm so the cow can eat it, and fuel to transport that cow to the butcher to be cut up into steaks and chops and roasts and burger and shipped to your local supermarket. Those nifty fresh veggies and fruits that you buy in the depths of winter? Yeah, they come from South America on a plane or a fast boat. The ones you get in the summer? They still have to be trucked from the vegetable farm or orchard to the place where you buy them. Still takes oil. Expensive oil.

Consumer goods? Clothes, furniture, rakes, shovels, hammers, blankets, beer, smokes, pet food, milk, etc. All get to you using petroleum. and some are made from plastics, also made from petroleum feedstock.....

The raw materials that make your homes? Yeah, hauled to your local Home Depot using trains and then a truck. That drywall takes a LOT of energy to make, so does that plywood. And that carpet is likely made from Rayon or Nylon. Guess where that comes from?

Paper? Guess.  Tires? Yeah, same thing.

Automobiles? Yeah, they take a lot of petroleum to bring the parts to the factory.....and a lot of the plastic parts that make the car lighter and safer.....yeah, you guessed it.

Think about it. If energy (oil) goes up in price, then so will the cost of EVERYTHING.

Expect your food prices to go up by 25% MINIMUM. Consumer goods? Same thing.
Autos? Fuggeddaboutit. (and yer not gonna be able to afford to drive anyway, as all yer cash is gonna go for food....)

Think I am crazy? Maybe I am. But it happened in Britain in the '70's when their currency went to shit when the socialists destroyed the Pound...and Britain as we knew it...and Argentina when the socialists did a similar thing in the late 80's...Same tune..... just a different language. The price of everything went insane. They were both productive prosperous countries...now they are second raters in decline.

Wanna live in Greece? No big deal, just wait a year or two. Especially if we re-elect the Socialist in Chief for another 4 years. Inflation will be rampant, and the cost of a gallon of gas will likely be $7.50 or more. It'll be just like Greece, without the lamb dishes and the wild taxi drivers and the lovely seashore and the hirsute women.

It isn't the oil that is going up, it is that the dollar is worth less. And it will be with those worth-less dollars that you will pay your fuel bill, and try to purchase your food and other goods...especially those that you buy from other countries. It's gonna take a LOT of those worth-less dollars to buy things from foreigners...or from your neighbor.

The dollars we use today are just paper...just an easy medium of exchange. The fact that there are many more of them means that each dollar is worth less than it was a year or two before. They have no intrinsic value, just paper "backed by the full faith and credit of the United States'. Which is rapidly becoming worthless. We have maxed out our credit, as a country as we print worthless paper dollars to pay our bills......and when our ability to buy energy fails, because our ability to generate credit to back our paper currency ceases or becomes less, then we, as a nation, will starve. Our wealth is not the stacks of dollar bills we print, but the productivity of our citizens balanced against our expenditures...and that ratio is not a good one lately.

What to do? Plan. What to plan for, and how to implement those plans is up to you. But expect less commerce, and expect food to be costly, as well as consumer goods. Expect less...you won't be disappointed.

But when the decline accelerates (it has already begun) you'd better have a plan to feed yourself and your family. It's gonna be ugly. Argentina is the most recent example. Read "Surviving in Argentina" to get an idea of what is coming. Look to Greece for an example.

It'll be us in a year or three, no matter who is in the White House. It can be worse or just bad, but it ain't gonna be good either way.

You should watch

This...if you haven't seen it, you should:

Then think.

Remember, we get the government we deserve.

Monday, February 13, 2012

Yeah, no wonder we are a society in decline

Go HERE.

Think

How do we change this?

Kiss my butt George

You may be able to do Prequels, add scenes, etc. to Star Wars.

But I saw the original. I really don't care what you say now.

Han Shot First.

What do you expect? He was being held at gunpoint and Greedo was threatening to kill him.

Any sane person would have done the same.

I don't understand how Mr. Lucas :

A: thinks that this is a bad thing, and that he should be ashamed of it...

B: Why he thinks that after all these years and all the people that saw the original movie he is somehow able to rewrite history.

I like the fact that Han shot first. I'da done the same.

Coming soon to an area near you

Especially if you live in, or near, a large(r) city that is run my "Blue" politicians (yeah, I know, most of 'em are).

Riots

Except that the Greeks are, for the most part, decent folks, if greedy.

Some of the people in our inner cities have a ...different ...take on how they should treat their fellow citizens.

Expect that we will have the same, only more violent, response to the austerity measures that will take place here in the US inanother 3-5 years.

I hope to have sold my business and moved to a more isolated defensible rural area by then.

Useless.....and foolish

Got pulled over Tuesday AM...On my way to work. At 7:35 AM. Conditions were fairly dark and overcast.

Speeding. And I was, no question. No argument, no quibble. 56 in a 45. .
Guilty as charged.

When the nice policeman pulled in behind me, I opened my window, put my insurance card and registration along with my drivers licence in my left hand along with my carry permit and placed both hands on the wheel. I wanted the officer to be comfortable and feel safe. Better that way. Don't want him to do something foolish that might end up with one of us getting hurt. Make this as pleasant for both of us as possible.

He was polite and professional:

Do you know why I pulled you over, Sir?"

"yeah".

"Can I see ...oh, thanks." as I handed him those forms and such. He noticed the pink CHL form as I handed them to him

"Do you have a weapon in the car, Sir?"

"Yes," I replied "on my hip"

"Would you please step out of the car Sir?"

I did so, and he asked me to turn around. I placed both hands on the roof of the car, and he raised my jacket and removed the pistol from the holster. He took a step back and asked me to turn around. He dropped the mag and said "I'll have to run this to see if it was stolen".

"No" I replied. "No probable cause. Get a warrant.....I'll wait....else it's illegal search and seizure...I got all day".

Nonplussed, he looked at me....."It is in plain sight, he replied"

"Nope," I said. Terry VS Ohio says you can remove my weapon for your safety. But you have to have cause to go any farther. With respect, state your cause.  Or prove it is in plain sight by telling me the serial number right now.... If you can't then, with respect, stop dicking around....Or call your boss."

Now understand, this is outside of a little tiny town in NW Indiana, about a mile outside of the city limits...The young policeman (fairly new to the job, I am sure) was on questionable ground. He was far outside of town (and likely his jurisdiction), and was not sure what to do with someone who was older, respectful, but firm in his refusal to be under control.  I am fairly certain that he wasn't sure if I was right or not, and he wasn't sure what to do with someone who just refused to fit into any of the scenarios in his training. Someone who was sure what the law was, and the limits that it placed upon the police, and was willing to be difficult.

He placed my firearm on the back deck of my car, and told me to  return to, and sit down in my car and close the door (it wasn't asking, but was worded politely) and took my license, registration, and insurance card (and magazine) with him to his car.

4 minutes later, he got out and returned to my door. He asked me to get out again, handed me my documents and magazine, and told me I was free to go. He asked me not to load the firearm until he had left, and returned to his car after thanking me for my cooperation.. I picked up the pistol as he was pulling out and waited until he had gone down the road before inserting the mag and reholstering.

Note: I still had a round in the pipe!.

The stop was valid. I was speeding. Had he written me a ticket, I'd have paid it with no protest.

Yet he knew that I had a CHL, and yet he insisted on going through the ringamarole about taking my firearm. But he NEVER UNLOADED the pistol. He left me in arms reach of a loaded firearm.

Apparently, he needs retraining on how these gun things work. Taking a mag out of the pistol still left me with one shot, had I chosen to use it (not to mention the magazine that I still had on my belt). He did NOTHING to enhance his safety with our little dance. Had I allowed him to take the pistol to his car to check out the serial number, it was entirely possible that he might have hurt himself or his police car (or me!).

I wonder how many legal firearms carriers he intimidates just so he can check out serial numbers. How many people aren't sure of their rights, and who let him violate them because of their ignorance. How many times he has been lucky because he has not known how to properly make a firearm safe to handle. How many times he has put himself in danger with his actions.

I wonder if he realizes that his time could be better spent hassling people for other reasons, rather than wasting his time checking out serial numbers on guns owned and carried by people who have taken the time and spent the money to have the State do the background check in order to get that little pink slip of paper.

Surely, he can tell the difference between legal concealed carriers and the average "Yo" or meth-head. Can't he?

If not, then his ability and judgement comes into question....as well as his suitability to be a police officer.

Funny, ain't it?

The Catholic Church was all for the Mandate, when they thought it didn't/wouldn't apply to them. They were all for the rest of us being forced to purchase Health Insurance when our doing so would benefit their dependents....Those who were, through fortune, misfortune, or bad lifestyle decisions caused their situation wherein they had no easy access to low cost health care and/or catastrophic care....

It was ok to force us to purchase a product which we did not need/want, in order to add to the pool of money to pay the freight fo those who couldn't/chose not to pay their own.

But when that Mandate came to them, they are crying "First Amendment!" loudly and repeatedly.

Were it not so sad, it'd be amusing.

Equal protection

So everyone is in a tizzy because Obamacare does not exempt Catholic Hospitals and other Church organizations.

Whah.

Too fucking bad

They are trying to have their cake and eat it too.

They are employers, same as me. They pay people to do jobs. Worse, most of them take federal money ion order to accomplish their mission.

They should get no exemption. None.

If they get an exemption because they are a (supposed) Catholic organization, and the thought of Birth Control or Abortion is abhorrent to them, then I should get an exemption because having to give someone something that they have not earned is abhorrent to me. And those of you who read me regularly know that I hold that as dearly as the Catholics hold their rules.

The Catholics were all behind Obamacare, until it went and bit them in the ass. While I think that Obamacare should be repealed, I also think that if it is not, it should apply to everyone, equally. No exemptions...no special treatment....Everyone plays by the same rules. That pesky 5th/14th Amendment thing....

Or scrap the whole thing.

Should have let Darwin have 'em

These folks should have been sacrificed to Darwin. With apologies because we didn't care enough to send out very best, but rather the losers and castoffs of our society.

Losers. No survival skills. None. Can't even follow the basic drainage to a stream, and thence to a road. Can't be bothered to carry even a lighter for a firestarter. Can't be bothered to do anything to ensure their survival.

But they did think about eating their dog after a few days. Better they should have sacrificed themselves to feed the dog.

I bet that these folks will not offer to pay for the fuel and other expenses that all those volunteers used to search for them. Bet that other than a generic "thank you all" they don't bother to find and thank everyone who took time and effort to search for them.

Further, I'd bet that they haven't learned to carry basic survival supplies, nor will they bother to map their path next time. (GPS units are so cheap these days, you'd think that if they had no survival skills, they'd at least have one of those).

And I found it interesting that the searchers tracked them for a while using the trail of their discards....Pepsi cans, clothing, and their mushroom buckets. They obviously have a lot of respect for Nature.

Yeah, they fucked you.

You thought that you were getting a break on your payroll taxes....and you were.

But to make up for it, they are taxing new mortgages. About $8 per month for the average mortgage.

They didn't cut the taxes, they shifted them to homeowners. And fucked them hard in the process...(and they didn't buy them dinner first...not even a drink.)

So if you are an average person, making $50k per year, you saved about 170 dollars on the 2 month break on payroll taxes....but if you refinance your home to take advantage of the current lower interest rates, the feds are gonna take about $200 a year for the life of the loan. yep, they saved you a few months higher taxes, and jammed you with a different tax...for 15 or 30 years.

Remember this when you vote. It matters not what letter is behind that name. The D or R no longer means anything. They are all bad...some are worse, but all are bad. One wonders why the politicians are suprised that the citizens hold them in contempt.

The worst part is that the News Media is choosing NOT to report this, generally.

on this day

In 1812

The New Madrid earthquake happened.

Wonder what effect it would have if it happened today?

I do know that a lot of people would be hurt, and many more would likely starve before FEMA got it's shit together.

Wrong

I get tired of hearing the argument that the founding fathers wished for the "separation of church and state".

This phrase never appears in the Constitution, nor in the Declaration, nor even in the Federalist Papers.

Not even once. Despite what people parrot, it is not used in any of these documents... It is inferred in the First Amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." but that phrase "separation"is not used, and the First is not meant for that. It says clearly what it says. Nor does Article 6 say anything about the "separation of church and state", but rather that "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to hold any office or public trust..." Not quite the same thing as "separation of church and state".

Even the courts do not always agree that the phrase by Jefferson has anything to do with, or may be substituted for the First Amendment.

Those who use the phrase "separation of church and state" are misquoting Thomas Jefferson, and are demonstrating their ignorance. Parroting a phrase that hey heard from someone else, with no knowledge of where it came from, the context in which it was used, or what was meant by it.

Don't believe me? Look it up yourself. I'm not gonna bother to give you a link.

But stop using the phrase where it doesn't belong, and stop saying that it is in any of the documents that founded this country, or that that phrase has anything to do with the rules that govern our country.

After all, Jesus was all for theft at the point of a gun

We know this, because Obama said so.

Really?..... Really?..... Seriously?

Statements like this make me wonder about the inner working of his mind.

I have no doubt that Jesus would encourage us to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

Voluntarily. Not at the point of a gun.

And that is what taxes are: Theft enforced by force.

If you don't pay them, then men with guns come and take your stuff.

Think about it.

Whoah

Read this.

long, but really worth your time.

After reading it, I got nothin'. I can't say it any better. And after reading it, I wouldn't even try.

Go on, read. You'll be better for it.

Yeah, it's like that

I stole this, but it should be read by everyone.

The kids filed into class Monday morning. They were very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.
Little Sally led off: “I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30″ she said proudly, “My sales approach was to appeal to the customer’s civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success.” “Very good, Sally” said the teacher
. Little Jenny was next: “I sold magazines” she said, “I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events.” “Very good, Jenny” said the teacher.
Eventually, it was Johnny’s turn. The teacher held her breath, as Johnny always had a ‘different’ take on things. Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher’s desk. “$2,467″ he said.
“$2,467!” cried the teacher, “What in the world were you selling?”
‘ Toothbrushes” said Johnny.
“Toothbrushes” echoed the teacher, “How could you possibly sell enough
tooth brushes to make that much money?” “I found the busiest corner in town” said Johnny, “I set up a Dip & Chip stand, I gave everybody who walked by a free sample.” They all said the same thing, “Hey, this tastes like dog crap!” Then I would say, “It is dog crap. Wanna buy a toothbrush? I used the President Obama method of giving you something shitty, dressing it up so it looks good, telling you it’s free, and then making you pay to get the bad taste out of your mouth.”

Source: YOF  You should read his stuff. It's good

Watch this

He is right.

They'd never make a cartoon like this today.

Think about it. Then think again.

Pass it on. Show it to your friends.

Don't hesitate

This guy didn't.

and it was a Good Thing.

Man walks into a store with a shotgun, you gotta think that he has things on his mind besides "eggs, butter, milk, and Ho-Ho's".

No hesitation.

Be like Han.

Although the guy in Milwaukee is likely to get heat for carrying in a place where it is prohibited...The store was posted "no firearms" (although that didn't stop the would be redistributionists either, did it?)
