An Observation:

At least not to the beach....


So a week and 3 days ago, I was on the beach just west of Michigan City, Indiana, just outside of what was, before the Federal Parks Department closed it for no good reason, Mt Baldy Park....

There I found, buried in the beach sand, at the edge of the wave line, (OK, really Midwest Chick saw it first) a large chunk of cast iron, likely a windlass or capstan.

Now, there is an old shipwreck in the area (Probably "unknown #3")... Old. like 1850's? ....before the turn of the century....over the years the ribs of the ship get covered and uncovered by sand. I have been there when the wooden ribs were visible, and this is in the same general area....And there is no documentation of any iron windlass or other large iron parts on the wreck....

I took careful sightings and measurements from fixed landmarks and from other beach detritus for closer locating...., and returned with a shovel and a camera to document it 10 days later....Of course, only after we had had large winds(and therefore waves) and a lot of rain....

No dice. The sand was at least 2 foot deeper than it was before. The three large oak trees washed up on shore that were part of my reference marks...one was moved, the other two were gone. With my sightings, I would guess that I was within 10 feet of the place....but with the sand being deeper by at least 2 feet at that area, and with my close reference marks gone or moved, I was unable to locate the item to document it.

Mother Nature teases us sometimes...revealing for a short time her treasures, then hiding them again.

I will go back, and I will find the item. But for now, it is a mystery. The beach I left is not the beach I returned to...nor will it be the beach to which I return next time.

So it is with other places in our life. Once we leave, they are gone. We can return to the same location, but the place is different. The people are new, or changed.....it isn't the same..... Familiar, yet different.....For you aren't the same person as he or she who left, and the place has moved on, evolving and becoming what it is today....different that it was yesterday. And not what it will be tomorrow.

So, again, we see that to a significantly loud number of black people, all that matters is race.

If she and her supporters believe that strongly, then they could, of course, form their own party....say the Black Lives Matter party.

Or just call it the "Darkies" for short. Or just the Black Party...Or something like that. I really don't care.

Here is the rub though.....they need WHITE PEOPLE'S money. There aren't enough black people who will give even a dollar. Not enough folks that care enough. Who likely won't vote, but certainly won't give any money to run the party nor do the ad campaigns even if they found a candidate. And nobody wants to work for free, even to achieve their goals......So they want to take over the DNC....

They need white folks money and organization to get what they want.....

But that has been the way things have worked since the Civil Rights Movement, isn't it?

Another viewpoint on black Friday

I may well have to rethink my stance on staying away from the crowds of frenzied, creaming, psychotic shoppers clutching credit/debit cards in their sweaty little hands and running towards their "deals".

I think it is because of behavior....Gunshow crowds are, for the most part, well behaved, orderly, and polite. Not so with the post Thanksgiving shoppers.

More often than not, those we meet cooking and serving food to feed those in need are Republicans. My letter to him today:

I reference the letter you sent to your customers regarding our voting choices. 

I am offended by your call that I am a racist. You make broad statements without any knowledge about that which you speak. You have no knowledge about me, my opinions, my attitudes towards my fellow citizens (of any race) nor my attitudes towards race relations nor how we should interact..... Your statements are insulting and show you are misinformed.

We may well have differing opinions about politics, but I don't see where voting for a candidate that you oppose makes me a racist. While you have the right to your opinion, I too have a right to have MY opinion. I cared very little about your choice of vote, until you chose to label me a racist because my political choice differed than yours. I support your right to state your opinion. I will choose to state mine by choosing to do business elsewhere.

I have been a customer of Penzey's for over 15 years......until now. Penzeys was always my first choice for spice purchases. I had found that your products were of first quality and the Penzey's name a guarantee of that quality. Sadly, I will no longer do business with your company. There are other vendors of spices, and your insulting statements have made me choose to purchase elsewhere from this point forward. While the loss of my business may not affect your bottom line greatly, you can consider the fact that the loss of approximately 1400 dollars in business (last year) will benefit those other spice vendors that don't allow politics to affect their relationships with their customers....who don't insult those with other views than yours. 

I chose to vote for Donald Trump as the best (or at least "Least Bad") of the poor choices available to me this election season. I don't believe his policies will be "racist", but rather fair for all. Perhaps you should widen your circle of friends and actually meet some of those Republican Trump voters and learn about them and their reasons for voting the way they did....Leave the echo chamber of your anti-Trump acquaintances and actually meet some of those folks with opposing views and broaden your horizons a bit. You might learn something. 

I am saddened that you feel that fully half (not 80%) of your customers are racist and that you chose to denigrate us....and moreso that our business is of so little value that you felt comfortable enough to insult us in your public letter to your customers. While I respect your right to a private opinion, I will not do business with someone who chooses to insult me in public. Again, there are other vendors who are wisely choosing to keep their personal thoughts private and not insult their potential customers. They will gain my business that your hateful screed lost you.

Be afraid, They are out to control what you hear, see, and read in an attempt to control what you think.

They almost had us in the 70's and 80's....they controlled the press and the radio (mostly) and the TV.... and therefore the information....Until the rise of the internet in the 90's.

Now, they want to fix that too....

You claim (or the Media claims, anyway) that you are afraid (of something) because Trump was elected as our next president.

You (or the media claims) are afraid of racism. Because (or so the Media claims) Trump was elected by racist white people.

Well, first of all, It is White people who are the majority in this country. Had we elected Hillary Clinton (A white woman) there would still have been a majority of white people voting to elect her. Where, exactly, is the racism?

Second, if we were all so racist, we'd not put up with your antics.

Muslim threats muslim attacks...self radicalized, etc.....Muslim attempts to change our society to suit your religious and cultural lifestyle would have long since engendered violence. But somehow, it hasn't. We ARE growing tired of it, but we aren't doing anything, and haven't.

Hispanics.....The press tells us that you claim you are afraid....of what, exactly, they don't tell us....But afraid, nonetheless..... Here is the thing....if we, as the majority of the people in this country...yes, us whites,...If we were inclined to do violence, or to somehow oppress you, we could easily have done so in the recent past....but we haven't. We have put up with your support of people that are illegal immigrants over those who are legal and welcomed immigrants. (You support race over country, which I personally find offensive) yet we haven't terrorized you or harmed you, or done anything to you.

And you black people. We haven't done anything to you. We could, but we don't, because we are (generally) decent people. W e haven't killed or lynched anyone, not even those "Black Lives Matter" folks that threaten us and insult us and riot and break things and stop traffic and such. Who state on video that they want to kill or harm White people. Who is the racist there?

See, all of you. your forget one thing. We are decent law abiding citizens. We obey the law. We don't kill people, we don't lynch people, we don't do any of the things the press implies (but doesn't say) you are afraid of.

We could....But we don't. Never forget, we are the majority, and many of us are armed....And know how to say "hello" from hundreds of yards away. We also own pistols for close work, and we practice....We don't spray bullets from a car in drive by shootings and hit innocents. We hit where we aim. I figure about 3 weeks, realistically.

But if we haven't done anything by now, then you can rest assured that until you up your game and piss us off a great deal more, you are probably safe. Unlike you, we see that there are lots of folks  who aren't looking for trouble. Oddly enough, we can see past the filter of race and culture and can see the individual. You are the ones grouping by race, not us.

But rest assured, if we should decide to do so, we could choose to finish the job the press claims we want to do. Since we are decent people, we won't.
