We went to concert in Chicago last night (Friday).
The crowd was predominantly white (like 99.78%), mostly people from 30-60 years in age.
For the United Center, the level of security personnel was normal. This level of vigilance was, however, a massive overkill, as the crowd was very well behaved. There were zero fights, zero drunken incidents, zero shouting.... zero issues of any kind. No pushing, shoving, stampeding, trampling, etc.
People were polite, helped the infirm or wheelchair bound, and were generally civilized.
One wonders if it was the economic level, the culture of the attendees, or the racial mix, or a portion of each which led to that behavior.
It did, however, make for a peaceful, relaxed (if boring) wait for the start of the concert.
"Longfellow Serenade" doesnt exactly incite to violence.
