I hate the fact that

I agree with this.

But it is true. I'm not gonna vote for another McCain, nor another Rommney.

Period.

And I ain't gonna vote for Jeb Bush.

The lesser of the two evils is still evil.

Yes, the folks who say that Jeb Bush will be less damaging that Hillary Clinton are correct. IMO, He won't win anyway, so a vote for him is wasted. I held my nose and voted with the lesser evil twice. It got us nowhere, and it didn't send a message to the RNC that they need to stop playing the patronage game, and that they need to find a candidate which isn't "DNC lite" and "middle ground" and all that. The games that they are playing are foolish and short sighted...and their strategy has failed twice. It'll fail this time as well.

It ultimately comes down to this: Either the RNC finds a real candidate who is conservative, by whatever definition you should choose to use, that will shrink and de-power the Federal government, or lose yet again.

Sometimes I wonder if that is the goal.

  1. I share your frustration. But come Fall 16, I'll be twisting your arm to go with the candidate that sucks less.

You have a luxury in IN that you can actually throw your vote away and the state will still vote the right way. In OH I'm competing with some Somali's who were bussed in from BFE for the day to vote for free stuff.

  2. I came to the US from India 27 years ago. I left my family behind and worked for three years before I saw my wife and children again. I spent every penny I made to bring them to the US. All above board, and in a legal fashion. I was never so proud as I was the day my wife and I took our oath and became naturalized. Now, I have grandchildren who are born Americans. And now, after all of that, we are preparing to leave the US, and renounce our citizenship. The final straw will be if our choices in 2016 are Clinton or Bush.

  3. Richie:

I'm curious: Where will you go? The US may suck, but I haven't yet found a better place.....

  4. I am with you. I will NOT VOTE for another RINO, and especially not another Bush.

  5. You have chosen exactly the correct path. Now you can tell me how it makes anything better

And no, I will not allow you to tell the demonstrable lie that "BUSH IS JUST AS BAD!"

  6. Jeb Bush wants to be the president of the illegal aliens, not Americans. He and the GOP can kiss my ass if he's the candidate.

  7. Interesting. You ask where will he go? I would ask you, where have you been? You say you haven't found a better place? Well, where have you lived? What have you seen? How do you know there isn't a better place? My job takes me all over the world for months and sometimes years at a time. And I can tell you this much. I have run into American expatriates who are ecstatic to be living in other countries. Most recently, I was in Uruguay. The ex-pats I met there gushed for hours about their good fortune upon leaving the US! And what I heard mostly was that the government in Uruguay doesn't FUCK WITH YOU like the US government. I see someone else asks how it makes anything better? Imagine how not being screwed by everyone from the President all the way down to your local school board would feel. I see Richie's point and applaud him for having the balls to go through with it. And I think the argument that it sucks but you haven't found anything better, is really just typical American laziness.

  8. I don't know if it makes it better or not. I do know that I will no longer sacrifice a part of my soul to support a political party that does not share my enthusiasm for smaller government, and liberty. If I were to do that, why not vote for the democrat and bring on the end sooner.

  9. Og: You may be right....if may not make anything better. But voting with the party of the lesser evil hasn't done anything either.

There will never be the "perfect candidate"...I realize that. There will never be the one person for whom we will all vote. But the RNC has, for the past two cycles, put candidates forth which are unacceptable. Many, like me, chose to vote for the "less than perfect candidate" in order to support the lesser evil against the greater one. It got us nowhere...the RNC sees this as support for their choices. The RNC does not represent me anymore, nor do they support candidates who do...in fact, they do their very best to destroy such candidates.

I really believe that they will continue the path they have chosen, and will continue to lose each and ever time until they change what they stand for.

Voting for the third party is a vote for change, voting for the RNC is a vote for more of the same. Until they stop supporting people like Rommney and McCain and Boehner, they will continue to lose people like me. They certainly won't win any elections.

A wasted vote? Perhaps. But voting for the RNC candidate is as well. If I thought it would be close, I might reconsider....But it won't be.

Explain to me how voting for Jeb Bush or Chris Christie will be a vote for change? Something more than "less bad" (and I am not so sure of that)results?

  10. Raj: I have researched many places. Some are better than others, but despite the decline in the US, it still seems that the US is still the best choice for people like me.

Uruguay is one of the best alternates. But it still has problems for me. Where would YOU move if you had a choice? Please, tell me where and why.

  11. I think I've told you this, but once again, vote FOR a Libertarian or Constitutionalist, and against any incumbent.

Terms for senator and president are too long for this to be immediately effective. But the House of Representatives could change every two years. This MIGHT get their attention.

  12. voting with the party of the lesser evil hasn't done anything either.
If this is a true fact, then please give me the specific evidence of that. And I do mean specific. If you can absolutely positvily verify beyond a shadow of any doubt that it "hasn't done anything" then I will be right next to you, NOT voting. If, onm the other hand, as I suspect, it is your personal opinion, then I cannot possibly agree. There are any number of things that the "Lesser of two evils" candidates have done that are good and noteworthy, and I can and will happily enumerate them.

There will never be the "perfect candidate"...I realize that. There will never be the one person for whom we will all vote. But the RNC has, for the past two cycles, put candidates forth which are unacceptable. Who has put forth a candidate? Only members of the RNC are allowed to vote in primaries? We get the candidates WE choose.

Many, like me, chose to vote for the "less than perfect candidate" in order to support the lesser evil against the greater one. It got us nowhere...the RNC sees this as support for their choices. Ah. So they pay attention when you vote their way, but when you don't vote their way they don't pay attention? They most assuredly DO. When the right sees leftist candidates getting elected, what direction do they move, do you suppose? Further to the left, so they can get what they assume is popular support, or further to the right, away from populalr support? I know which way I'd bet.

The RNC does not represent me anymore, if they ever did, you're doing politics wrong.

nor do they support candidates who do...in fact, they do their very best to destroy such candidates. well, the media is complicit in that. But when Democrats hear "Clinton had sex with an intern" they re-elect him- when Republicans hear "Herman Cain may have cheated on his wife" they throw him under the bus so fast the tires barely hit him, so the media has to back the bus up and hit him again a couple more times.

I really believe that they will continue the path they have chosen, Indeed! Unless WE stop them.

and will continue to lose each and ever time until they change what they stand for. You mean until we choose to make them change what they stand for.

Voting for the third party is a vote for change, voting for the RNC is a vote for more of the same. Until they stop supporting people like Rommney and McCain and Boehner, they will continue to lose people like me. They certainly won't win any elections. Voting for a third party got Bill Clinton elected. Nuff said.

A wasted vote? Perhaps. But voting for the RNC candidate is as well. If I thought it would be close, I might reconsider....But it won't be. Since you're prescient, do please give me the Mega Millions numbers, so we don't have to worry about any of this.

Explain to me how voting for Jeb Bush or Chris Christie will be a vote for change? Do please demonstrate where I said it would be; I did not and never have, and never will. Something more than "less bad" (and I am not so sure of that)results?

I on the other hand, am 100% completely and absolutely sure.

  13. Let me change the discussion just a little, and maybe it will make more sense. You practice shooting a lot. You do so, so you can be better. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes, maybe, you think it's not making any difference at all. Sometimes you drill and drill and drill and you can't even seem to shave a millisecond off your time when others around you seem to do better effortlessly.

Now: Give me any scenario that does not involve magic or alteration of the laws of physics that will ever allow you to get good enough to win, if you just stop practicing? Or, as in the case of a "Third party", if you decide to practice the piano instead of the pistol?

This is not a switch. It's a long slog. It will take more than your lifetime and maybe more than a dozen lifetimes- but I don't see any other way. And I spend a lot of time looking, believe me.

  14. SO I should support the party that supports Chris Christie? SUpport the party that threw everyone under the bus for Rommney? Who gave McCain a chance even though his only qualification was that he had been around long enough?

A party that promotes "centrist" rather than conservaticve?

    Nope. Ain't happening.

If the RNC paid attention, then ROmmneu wouldn't have been the candidate.

    They ain't listening.

Go ahead, vote in lockstep with your party.

    I won't.

  15. Tell me where I suggested any of those things. Please, I can't wait.

You cannot, because I did not.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't know.

By your comments, one would think that it isn't the DNC, which by default would be the RNC, but I have no evidence of that except that you state that voting third party is a wasted vote.

Perhaps you should state what your party is? Be clear on what you are advocating?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well, I have been a registered democrat for thirty five years. Is that what you mean?

    ReplyDelete
  18. nope. THat doesn't define who your party is.

Nor does it define what you stand for.

Perhaps you should be clear and state what you mean rather than sniping at my comments.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm not sniping. I cannot be more clear. I have zero political affiliation. I am registered as a democrat so I can help fuck up their system, just like they do to everyone else. I am on the side of freedom, and that is all I have ever been. I would not "belong" to a political party at gunpoint. I can't imagine how or why anyone would or could get that impression from reading anything I write.
