Dark of the moon, sixth of June.

Remember those brave men.

Young, no doubt scared out of their wits. In a boat. landing on a fortified beach.

72 years ago.

And the folks who flew in on a glider earlier.

Likely not really sure why they were doing it.

But following orders because their country asked them.

They weren't ready. and they knew it. But they went anyway.

Balls.

Big ones.



Sadly, most of Europe doesn't remember or care, really.

But some of us remember.

Thanks Gentlemen. I wasn't even born yet, but I thank you.

Actually I think more Europeans remember and celebrate it as the first start on them regaining their freedom... I know those on the Normandy coast do!
