Global non-warming????

Or at least it has stopped.....maybe...

Go here for info. Seems that the Greenland Glaciers that were rushing headlong to their death have suddenly stopped...or at least slowed down drastically.

Of course that won't stop the Cap-and Trade scheme from becoming reality, at least as an excuse for taxes.

Good line:

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money"

AND

In 1835 Alexis de Tocqueville cautioned, “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”

So true

Interesting link. EPA website that shows what's in your area....

Luckily, I am in a pollution free zone.......

I wish that I could have been there

Mass protests against the "stimulus package". Especially in the midwest, and considering the weather......And when you consider that so far, all of the protests have been on weekdays, when most non recipients have to ....you know, work. It's easy to get a lot of people at a rally when the rally is for more government handouts, as those recipients are generally not occupied with earning a living.

But HERE are those folks whose hard earned money is being taken and used as a handout....err...."stimulus".

Here and Here and Here are others. Despite fairly nasty weather in all locales, lots of people collected to voice their opposition and dissent (after all, didn't we learn from the liberals during the last presidential term that "dissent is the highest form of patriotism"?) . These folks braved really cold weather to show their....AHEM....patriotism.

Chicago, Seattle, St.Louis, Denver, Sacramento, Lansing, Tempe, Houston, all organized on about 3 days notice. Imagine if none of these people had to work, and had lots of time to protest like at the Obama rallies......and if there had been real organizing and better weather.

Folks are PISSED at this. I know I am.

I wanna move to Idaho....

The legislature just told Mr. Obama to stuff his Assault Weapons Ban...

"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the First Regular Session of
the Sixtieth Idaho Legislature, the House of Representatives and the Senate concurring therein,
that members of the United States Congress cease and desist attempting to enact federal
legislation impinging on the individual right of every American to keep and bear arms in any manner.
Specifically, that members of Congress oppose the passage of the Firearm Licensing and Record of
Sale Act of 2009, and any similar legislation."

I love it. Click the LINK for the whole text.

ETA: Even Nancy Pelosi isn't dumb enough to try this YET...

Tenth Amendment!!!!

It's happening folks!

Go HERE and see if your state is a part of this.

If not, agitate for it, or move to one that is.

A tax by any other name

SO I bet that THIS is how the Mr. Obama will reduce the deficit:

"The implementation of a cap-and-trade system, something Obama favors, would raise $300- to $330-billion a year, said Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.)."

Carbon cap and trade system is a thinly disguised tax on carbon producing fuels and industry. Taxing CO2 will raise the costs of everything we use and any energy we use. Do ya really think that we, the end consumer, will not pay for the increased cost to industry and electric companies? Lets forget the fact that cap and trade has been a debacle in every country that it has been tried in.

Ultimately WE will be the ones paying the carbon tax.

And all to reduce the CO2 produced by this country. All in the name of Global Warming. GW is an unproven theory that cannot be made to reconcile with reality. Never mind that the model upon which GW is based cannot predict today's climate using historical data. Never mind that the temps have been coming down since 2000. (It actually appears that Carter's Global Cooling folks might have been right 30 years ago).

If you believe that ALGORE was right in his Global Warming hype, then you might think that this is a good idea. If however, you have three working brain cells to rub together, you'd realize that this is a crock of shit. Global warming (now "climate change") is a crock. We all know it, except those who have drunk the Kool-Aid of the church of AlGore (despite evidence showing that it is NOT happening).

But really, the CO2 is just an excuse for his Cap and Trade scheme to shove a thinly disguised tax down our throats. He needs this money for his social programs and bailouts.

After all, the money has to come from somewhere.

ETA: Don't believe me that Global Warming (AKA "Climate Change") is a crock?

Read THIS. The Japanese scientists don't like the Kyoto Treaty. Oh, THE IRONY These folks know more than I ever will regarding climate, and they don't buy it. It's interesting that the "consensus" is not so much.

Commentary on Obama's speech

"Not because I believe in bigger government — I don't"

Yeah, right.

Feel free to be indignant and hurt.

But don't expect someone to stop saying something just because it offends you. Free speech is important. I do NOT like the message the KKK has (and where I live, there are more than a few KKK members!). But I will fight to the death to ensure that they have the right to spew their offensive message.

But to quell free speech just because someone is offended is a VERY slippery slope. I have read the constitution cover to cover. Nowhere in those (to me) sacred words do I see a right to NOT be offended. If something I say offends you, stop reading, stop listening, move away. Choose not to buy my newspaper (if I publish one) or my blog (in this case) if you feel strongly enough, boycott my advertisers if you choose. But don't take a single step on that slippery slope that could end up in censorship. If we have the right to censor people because their words might offend others, then I have a long, long list of people to be muzzled. These are the people who cry loudest to have others stifled because they do not like the message.

More thoughts, written well, HERE

Failure is success today.

Y'know, I feel like an idiot.

I listened to my parents, and emulated them.

Buy a house that I could afford, and pay a bit extra each month and pay it off as soon as you can.

Don't get in over your head.

build equity.

Pay for toys after you have paid your bills.

ANd what did it get me? Bupkis. Yet the guy down the street, who never paid more than his minimum payment (interest only I might add) kept refinancing his home every time he could get an appraiser to say that it was worth morenand took cash out each time and bought a boat, 2 Harleys, and ATV, a new home entertainement center, 2 new BMW's (and a Mercedes SUV). He's the guy who makes me feel unsuccesful.

He gets help from Obama and the Democrats. I, because I am not behind, and have, if not sacrificed, at least haven't spent in a profligate manner, get nothing.

I am pissed. Now I wish that I had spent my way into foreclosure like my neighbor so I could get my principal reduced and my mortgage payment knocked down to 31% of my income. (right now, my mortgage is higher than that!)

Next time the parental units give advice, I think I'll ignore it.....Seems the rules they played by have changed.
"I’m proud that we passed the recovery plan free of earmarks"

Barack Obama 02/24/09

Either he really believes his own bullshit, or he thinks the American people are that stupid.

"There is, of course, another responsibility we have to our children. And that is the responsibility to ensure that we do not pass on to them a debt they cannot pay. "

B.O. same date

Not mentioning the fact that he nearly doubled the deficit with his bailout plan.

Poverty and laziness and lack of vision

SO let’s just say that I work in a customer service industry. I meet a LOT of people who travel far from home.

I am getting tired of meeting people who have issues with their luck “I am having SUCH bad luck this week” or “the world hates me” or “if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all”.

First of all, you whiny little shits, if you generally have bad luck, then perhaps it is something you have done, or something you did,, and perhaps it is time to either change your way of doing things, or try to balance the kharmic scales a bit. Generally I find that as I talk to these people that the “luck” that they are having is caused by their own actions.

My grandfather on my dad’s side used to always say “luck is when preparation meets opportunity” and I have generally found this to be true. If you bother to prepare for things, then things aren’t so bad. No one can prepare for everything, but if you have ANY plans at all, you have more than most in preparation and therefore you are prepared to have good luck.

If you are travelling, take the time to check your car over. Check the oil, the tires, and belts etc. That way, you probably will be “lucky” that the engine does not blow up due to lack of oil. Don’t leave Kalifornia in a car that most people would be afraid to drive across town in, and then complain when it leaves you stranded in the Midwest after it dies due to old age and neglect. Be smart enough to have a spare key in your wallet (if you are a man) or purse (if you carry a purse). Be “lucky” enough to have that if you lock yourself out….

Don’t be like the lady that I met yesterday. Living on the road, with 4 children. She had nowhere to go, having locked herself and her children out of the van they were living in. Despite the fact that they were far from home, she had only one key (like it costs SO much to get a copy and give it to one of your kids to hold).

As I learned their story, I went from feeling sorry for them, to pitying them, to really being disgusted with them, especially the mother. Mom was setting such a poor example for the kids. Mom needed help, but Mom wouldn’t do anything to help herself. She expected someone else to find a locksmith for her to open the van (BTW<>

Seems that the reason that they had no home was not that they had lost it due to foreclosure, not because of job loss, or injury to the point where someone couldn’t work, but rather because the landlord had kicked them out of their duplex. Seems that then, they had lived in hotels for a while, but then were out of cash, and then lived on churches goodwill. Best part is that the reason that they got kicked out of their house is that the daughter would not stop sleeping with the son of the landlord, who lived next door. The daughter is 14 YEARS OLD! Now leaving morals aside, and the fact that the daughter is too young to be sleeping around, one would think that a mother who does not work could keep track of the daughter enough to keep her from sleeping around. Let’s face it, it is also junior’s fault that they got caught in bed together, but junior is not the one that is getting kicked out of his home if he does not stop screwing around…..Seems that the landlord (who is a highly religious and moral man) informed them that the lease would not be renewed 90 DAYS BEFORE it ended. Seems that they dithered and failed to find anywhere else to live…..then used all their money to live in hotels until that ran out…

SO the lesson is: don’t wait for someone else to do for you, do for yourself. Stop making your life worse, keep track of your kids, and stop digging when you are in a hole.

Once again…..”Poverty , laziness, and lack of planning are roommates” . Jesus, These are the people that the liberals feel that I should help and feel sorry for.

Fuck’em.

Most problems resolve themselves into self-evident solutions if you have enough reliable information and if you can eliminate emotion from the evaluation of it. -- Mel Tappan, "Tappan on Survival"

Just call me "Speed" ......"Speed__Bump"

SO this guy gets blasted at a bar, So drunk that he doesn't remember losing his leg on the NYC subway tracks, and HE GETS $2.3M.

Had the train operator slammed on the brakes, and injured his passengers, would they be able to sue the drunken asshole who was laying on the tracks? I doubt it.

So much for "justice". The subway operator should sue Mr. legless for trauma or something. say, perhaps about $2.3 M worth.

Y’know, while I did not vote for Obama, I have advocated giving the man a chance, and warned all my (many) conservative friends from falling into “Obama Derangement Syndrome”. Much like the liberals fell into Bush Derangement Syndrome” after Bush was elected, and could not find anything he did to be correct, and failed to give Bush a chance to prove himself (he never really did, but that is besides the point).

But Obama is making it difficult for me to keep to my own preaching. The “stimulus package”, the whole lobbyist thing, not to mention his cabinet appointments (these folks are either arrogant enough to believe that they are above the law or poorly guided enough that they cannot vet people well enough to find those who do not pay taxes….), all are beginning to grate on me to the point where I find myself suffering from ODS.

While I realize that his holiness Obama the 1st has issues, and is a socialist, and has the senate And the house on his side, I am becoming surprised by the failures of the administration to LEAD rather than issue edicts. The America public, no matter how the media spins the actions of his administration, will not let too much of this happen before they scream STOP!.

I now understand how the far left liberal whackos must have felt with Bush.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009

AKA The "stimulus bill.

It takes 4 .PDF's !

Some measure of justice

Somewhat relating to the post 2 down:

Border patrol agents released:

They should never have been tried or charged.

It's no wonder that the Border Patrol is looking hard to find agents.

Prez. Bush finally grew enough balls to commute (not pardon!) their sentences on his way out.

He should have stepped up at the start. He should have taken a stand.

There has to be a point where the political pressure to let illegals break the law will become ineffective. If the people in this country who work so hard for illegals would work as hard, and spend as much money to improve Mexico then the "undocumented workers" most likely wouldn't have to come here for work

This shit has to stop soon. People will get real tired of this real fast. And then something really bad is gonna happen.
More than 40% of the time they can't find it.

Produce the note:

It seems that more than 40% of the time, mortgage banks cannot produce the note that shows the loan. If no note, then is there a mortgage? I know that when I refinanced, I got the old originals from the old note. And I understand that in the "old days" it was a big deal to burn the mortgage once it was paid off.

Make no mistake here, I am not advocating skipping out on your agreement. If that is what you contracted to do, you should do what the contract agrees to. if you made a bad decision when you purchased your home (bad buy, poor choice of loans, etc) then it is on you. You made the deal, and that is that.... But still....
So this rancher in Arizona detains a bunch of illegals crossing his land. He calls Border Patrol. He GETS SUED for this.
The lawsuit should never have gone to court. Further, whomever paid the bills of the plaintiffs should be run out of town on a rail. After a good beating.

Here is the result of the suit. $78K in damages. Just for detaining trespassers. Who knew that they were breaking laws.

Next time were I him, I'd employ a backhoe. I'm just sayin'. People get lost all the time out there. Shit happens.

WTF is with our court system?

The judge needs something to help his attitude.

Like a rope and a tree.

Bacon done right. (like you can do bacon wrong?)

Via "ambulance driver" I found THIS:

Now that is the way to do BACON. Seems like a heart attack on a plate. Sign me up for 2 slices please.

Indoctrination in the schools
Public schools.

You kinda expect this in a religious school. The indoctrination of children, that is....and it has been happening in our colleges and universities for a LONG time, said institutions of higher learning being inhabited by a significant percentage of liberals. But college freshmen are, to a large extent, able to think for themselves. Grade school children, not so much.

But this should piss of each and every parent.....Even those who are "green".

But hey, the AlGoreWhores will do whatever it takes.

Honor Killing:
Does anyone besides me see the irony in this?

Orchard Park police are investigating a particularly gruesome killing, the beheading of a woman, after her husband — an influential member of the local Muslim community — reported her death to police Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37. Detectives have charged her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, with second-degree murder.

"He came to the police station at 6:20 p.m. [Thursday] and told us that she was dead," Orchard Park Police Chief Andrew Benz said late this morning.

Muzzammil Hassan told police that his wife was at his business, Bridges TV, on Thorn Avenue in the village. Officers went to that location and discovered her body.

Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light.

All I can figure is that I must look like a terrorist or something. The TSA has upped the ante.

On my return trip, they gave me the FULL treatment. Stripped me down to my underwear (bet you didn't need that visual, did you?) and left me there for 10 minutes (at least it wasn't too cold in the room.....I don't look my best when I am cold.). These guys were at least human though. Polite and professional, but the other guys had ZERO sense of humor. These guys made an unpleasant thing at least bearable.

But hey, they are doing their best, keeping the flying public safe by strip searching the white anglo-saxon males while letting the middle easterners go with no inspection.

I mean, lets be real here...while very, very few people of middle eastern descent are terrorists, an even smaller percentage of white males are. So why do they go after everyone but the middle easterners? I would not want anyone to have to go through what I did, but lets be realistic as to who we are searching, and why.

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Jesus H. Christ, I hate flying.....Not so much the flying (although it can be interesting being trapped in a metal tube with 200+ complete strangers....But I digress). But rather the TSA and all the BS that they make you go through.

This time, I came up for a "random screening". Jesus, I haven't given that much up on a first date! Full wanding/patdown, etc. If it had been a cute person of the opposite sex, it could have been fun. But NOOOO, it had to be a grizzled veteran screener. It was quick though. It would have been nice to get an explanation as to WHY I was selected though.

We don't need no steenkin stimulus!!!

Even the CBO says that the recession will end by mid to late 2009 WITHOUT herr Obama's "stimulus" package of favorite pork projects.

What a load of crap this is.

Hope and change, my ass.

I'm thinking rope and trees....many of each.

So if you strapped buttered toast (toast ALWAYS lands butter side down, right?) to the back of cat (always land on their feet, right) and toss it (them?) off of a tall building, what happens? Does the universe implode, or does the combination just spin and never land or what?

Just wondering.....
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." - Thomas Jefferson
"Life isn't about learning to survive the storm........But rather learning to dance in the rain"
Well, it looks like they have the length and diameter of the shaft figured out, now they just have to decide how hard they re gonna give it to us...

According to Rasmussen, less than 37% support this bill. Yet it is going through. Where is the representation that these folks who we elected are supposed to be giving us? I intend to work VERY hard to get others to vote these folks out of office.

They have "trimmed" the bill down to $780Billion. Nice job of trimming. With interest, this means that this will cost over a TRILLION dollars in the next 10 years.

So much for "change".

Fuck-em. We need a real revolution here.

So it looks like the "ruling class" in Washington is about to screw the rest of the country......The spending bill, no matter how you slice it, is gonna shaft each and every American taxpayer.

Better to give the money to the taxpayers. If we each spent the $10k or so the this is gonna cost us taxpayers (each)....Now THAT would stimulate the economy...Either we'd buy cars, or refrigerators, or pay off credit cards, or buy something else, or at worst, save it in a bank account.

Either way, it would do more to get the economy working again better than this "targeted" bullshit that they are trying to ram down our throats.

Best of all, it would be a market based approach to saving the economy. Those companies who provide quality goods and services would thrive, and those who don't would fail.

And isn't that one of the principles that this country was built on? Part of what made this country so great?

And, BTW, what is the hurry in passing this? Other than to keep people from really getting a chance to look at this bill and think about it. Perhaps they feel that the more time people have to look at this, the less they'll like it. I guess that that is the reason for all this fear mongering.
